How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Lovely large room with an amazing outside terrace. Unbeatable view of the ocean and Mount Etna. It was overlooked by two balconies above but luckily no one was using them whilst we stayed there. Bed was comfortable and you could see the sea whilst lying there. Bathroom was nice, shower good pressure but it didn't drain well so did overflow into the bathroom. Breakfast was substantial and there was some savoury items. Location was perfect for us. Short walk into the Centre and very close to the stop to take you to the train station and/ Catania. Bus station walkable distance too.

Parking is a hassle, but I guess it’s a hassle for every hotel in that town.
Good location. The room was very nice and clean. The staff was extremely nice. The breakfast was pretty good too. They have a nice little patio with the ocean view for breakfast.

Very noisy room, all street traffic heard amplified in the room, seems you are sleeping on the sideway of the road.
Even small, the room it's ok, clean, good bed, new furniture in the room, acceptable breakfast, nice terrace for serving breakfast from where you can see the sea.

The financial administration could be better. 😅 1. They found my advance booking payment late. 2. I paid the tourist tax at the reception, but the next day - another receptionist had a hard time finding any trace of my payment...
Perfect location, clean rooms and all the hotel.

Nothing special bad. During spring the rooms are chilly and not easy to warm with the noisy AC. It would be nice to warm up the water radiators that are already present in the room.
The hotel is located near Giardino Pubblico and not far away from the center. It offers all you need to recharge your batteries without the bells and whistles. Has a nice terrace with sea view. The people are nice and ready to help. I had a breakdown of the toilet that has been solved quickly during Sunday morning.

The balcony was not as tidy as the picture portrayed
The best thing about the property asides from the great location was the comfortable bed and lovely big shower! it was clean and tidy and the staff were Lovley. breakfast was typical Italian style with some yummy cake.

The bed wasn't so comfortable.
The parking around the corner (arranged by the hotel) was affordable and worked well. The view from the balcony was so lovely to wake up to. Considering the price, I found the hotel wonderful.

Room was old and not enough blinds to block sunlight for a good nights sleep. Shower is not sufficiently blocked so that water comes flying out when showering. Breakfast wasn't great.

The hotel has a great location, very close to the centre by walk. Breakfast at a small terrace was also great - there was a variety of salty and sweet food.

The breakfast could have a bit more options and eggs should be served warm.
Very near the town centre, helpful staff, parking available 3 min away from the hotel. Very good value for money.

It wasn’t as clean as I would have liked. The shower folding door needed to be cleaned on the bottom. Some tiles were cracked.
