Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaOur hosts Paola and Anthony were warm, helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help us book restaurants and plan our tour itinerary. The grounds and swimming pool were a delight. Peaceful surroundings and so picturesque. Breakfast was a banquet and our meals at the villa were delicious. A great experience. We highly recommend this villa. It's more than just a bed!

United StatesOut bathroom was a little off.. Water kept leaking from the shower, the toilet would only flash after multiple tries.
First of all, Paola, the hostess, was super kind to us. Tended to all our needs, helped us with recommendations, reservations, and generally made our us feel welcomed. Above all, English is her mother's toung which is super helpful and uncommon in Italy. Besides that, the villa is amazing, well kept and clean. It has all the amenities you need.

EstoniaWould have loved to walk around longer routes there, but that seemed only possible on paved roads with occasional speeding cars (well, Italy). Some promising field paths to olive groves were blocked by xenophobic signs (though there is still one especial view accessible nearby on the other slope of the same hill). Perhaps some agreement with neighbouring landlords could change that for the guests of the villa?
Beautyful stay! Marvellous and authentic historic premises with excellent renovation and every contemporary convenience one could think of. The wonderful Toscanese landscapes that frame your hours by pool or short walks under backyard's ancient cypress trees not to mention the breakfast table talks. But that's just the top layer. The warmhearted people that fill the place with considerate service and loving atmosphere are the real gem, that make you want to prolong your stay to enjoy that feeling of welcomedness and being cared for even more. And the kitchen! Someting to make each of our taste buds flicker from joy! I am better not going to try to describe the barbeque evening and wines. Only one small thing: after tasting many of the Italy's real tiramisus, their masterpiece just left us speachless... Haven't had anything like this until. Long story short. We really loved our stay there and the simultaneous feeling of being in an expensive resort while visiting home of dear friends.

CanadaVilla La Cappella embodies magic, comfort, peace and happiness. The grounds are beyond gorgeous, the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The food is unbelievable - Chef Giovanna takes everything to another level and cooks with love. The location is brilliant to visit things in the Region such as Florence, Pisa and Siena. This was the hardest place to leave and we already miss it very much. It was an experience that we will never forget and we’ve left a little piece of our heart there.

United StatesZero to dislike really. If I had one complaint it’s that drivers go way too fast outside the gates, but that isn’t the fault of ownership.
The views are stunning! The staff was beyond friendly and knowledgeable. I look forward to future visits.

IndiaThe owners, Paula and her daughter Marissa, run the place like their home. They were the most gracious hosts. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean with all amenities, and very comfortable. The attached and fully equipped sitting/dining/kitchenette area was a bonus. The villa felt like home. It's a lovely place to chill out and relax. And yes, they have an elevator! so you don't have to drag your bags up the stairs :) There are no restaurants close by, the nearest is a 30-45 minute walk. (A beautiful scenic walk, if you like). Hence having transport is necessary to take you around. On the day we arrived, Paula & Marissa very kindly offered to make us pasta or sandwiches for lunch. You could cook up a meal for yourself if you like, since you have to make arrangements for your lunch and dinner - the attached kitchenette to your room has an oven, microwave, refrigerator, pots and pans, crockery/cutlery, you just need to get your ingredients. The breakfast was excellent, a good spread, with something different every day. While the location and area are lovely, and the property is beautiful, you must have arrangements for transport if you have to go anywhere. Paula connected us with a transport company that was very efficient. If you go to the town, it's a lovely and scenic 30-45 minute walk, safe during the day but not recommended at night as you have to watch out for speeding cars, although they are few and far between. Marissa very kindly volunteered to pick us up at night from town because it's difficult to get a taxi. The town has some nice cafes and restaurants, there was a festival on while we were there, so we had a great time. Morning walks are beautiful.

DenmarkVilla La Capella is a fantastic place in the heart of Tuscany. We booked the superior apartment with terrace for our holiday. It is a wonderful place in the countryside on a hill with beautiful view over the valley. The pictures on booking.com really don't lie. The host family and employees are very friendly and nice, and can help with all your questions and requests. English is spoken fluently. The apartment is large with a kitchen, bathroom and living room/bedroom. The balcony/terrace is beautiful with a sunbed, table and chairs, parasol and a wonderful view of the valley. The only small shortcoming was a missing microwave and toaster in the kitchen, but I am sure that these would have been provided, if we had asked for it. The swimming pool is large and wonderful for a cool dip. It is very clean and cleaned every day. The location is perfect as a starting point for trips around beautiful Tuscany. And if the holiday is to be enjoyed with total relaxation, stay at Villa La Capella all day and enjoy the pool, nature and silence. We can only recommend booking the superior apartment with the terrace at Villa La Capella. You will not regret it ! Thanks for these wonderful days !
