Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelarusThere was no lockers for the luggage (actually there was,but without keys and locks, and the receptionist said you needed to bring your own lock🤦) The shower cabine was without the second door 🙈 that's why there was always the "lake" on the floor ( There was no hairdryer as well... The doors to the room are always open,24/7 ...for me it's also kind of a weird... But, anyway, I'm grateful - Rome is great! The Eternal City - was one of my dreams! I'm pretty happy! Good luck to all! Thanks 😉
The most wonderful thing is the dislocation of the hostel - close to historical centre of Rome and to the Trainstation.

ArgentinaI checked in in the address that they show but then sent me to another building because they said my stay was a long one (no problems with that but they don’t specify it on their description, they just let you know once you check in) and I was there with people who also checked in in other hostels and got sent to the same building because they had no more space in the real hostels. So I had to walk about 4 blocks with my heavy luggage in the middle of the night when I thought I was done. Bathrooms, kitchen and general floor were cleaned every 3/4 days.
Big bathrooms, with a wide space, wide mirrors and switches. Kitchen with a great amount of plates, pans and pots.

United KingdomI got the top of the bunk bed and there was no stairs to climb onto it, so had to use a chair. Moreover, the bed was wobbly but sturdy. Please note that when I arrived their card machine wasn’t working and I had to walk to the station to get cash at 1am in the morning.
it’s 20min walk from the bus station and the facilities were clean.

United KingdomThe bunkbeds are really in bad quality, they are small and not high enough to give people down there reasonable space and the beds are shaking whenever you turn around , the room is too crowded with 8 beds , which makes me feel a little bit hard to breathe. It’s just so uncomfortable. And there is no kitchen to cook.
the staff are nice and location is good.

Ukraineit was not the best hostel in my life, but I think that considering the price it was a good offer.
This place is Ok for one night ( I stayed only one). Its cheap, the location is good, its was more or less clean, has a terrace, kitchen, but its an old building and inside everything is old, so you have to take it in consideration. Bed seemed to me quite narrow and the upper bed was moving quite a lot and also an important thing that there were no lockers (I didnt see) and doors to the rooms doesn't close, but as an option you can leave your suitcase in the reception. As a plus is that the reception works 24H.

TurkeyToilets and bath. There are only 2 bath which one of them through the another room. So technically there was only one bath for all and in the morning was hard to use it. Also no locks are provided and there was no safe place to put your stuff.

PolandI highly don’t recommend this place. I booked dormitory room only for women. When I come back it turned out the room is mixed, which was really bad surprise because after bad experience with guy in one room I chose this type of room not without reason. What more about it the room was extremely small, without any window, it looked like storage room. I was waiting for key( not even a key because room was unlocked all the time) for more than one hour, I had a feeling that receptionist forgot about me despite I stand next to her. I had to come to another hostel with her to pay for my staying which is okay but not after so long time of waiting. I spent almost 100 euro for being there and never again.

PortugalI booked a 8 people mixed bedroom and got a 4 people bedroom which was awful: extremely small, no individual lamps, no AC, no window, no lockers and the door didn't even close. The other rooms were much more spaceful with windows and all had a big bathroom with windows as well, I would have enjoyed way more. Not sure why I was placed in this one, maybe because I did a special request of bottom bed and this was the only available. I had to use other rooms bathroom since the common bathroom in the third floor was always busy. This room should definetely not exist, it should be transformed into another bathroom or storage place. Have to pay 2€ extra to leave luggage and they don't even have a proper storage place. Common area is not so well equipped, it has fridge, microwave, some dishes so you can buy some ready to eat meals if needed. No bathroom in the common area floor, either have to go inside one of the rooms or go up to third floor. Not impecably clean but not the worst either. No paper to dry hands or soap. Overall this did not have have a good price quality relation but I booked it the day before in Rome high season, so can't expect much. If you have no other options, it's okay. Definetely if you stay more than 2 nights demand one of the big rooms.
The staff was really friendly. The area is very quiet, not central but bus stations to the main attractions are close, there's supermarkets and coffe stores close as well. Also felt safe. Had a nice outside patio. The rooms (all but mine) had huge bathrooms.

Germany- it said payment by card is possible in hostel -> when I arrived, I was told that only cash is possible and I had to do a 20-25min walk - there was only a single person of staff at the reception. -> combined with several other waiting times and the walk, the checkin experience took me around 1,5h - not what you wish for after a long journey. - the receptionist asked me, if I was fine with sleeping in another place. I told her that I’d rather stay in the place I booked. -> she said that this is actually full, so I cannot stay there. now about the other place: I booked this hostel because it had lockers and a community room. the other place had neither lockers nor a community room. instead it was a random apartment 8 minutes walking distance to the real hostel. meeting other people was impossible when I arrived, as due to the lacking community room or other spaces to hangout, no one was there. - instead of the 8 bed bunker I which I Reservates, the apartment had 4-5 rooms with 10 beds each. - our room was equipped with 3 (!) plugs for 10 beds. Come on, buying an extender should not be a problem. Towels were only granted upon request. since no keys were given out, there was always one person in the flat to open the door on ringing (yes ringing is heard throughout the night). coming to the bath rooms. since there is one person waiting all day and night long in the kitchen to open the main door, why can’t this person just clean the shower from time to time?

UkraineNo towels, the door to the room was not allowed to be closed, felt unsafe leaving my things in the room. The stuff always mixed up info about which beds are already taken or not...
The location is great, like 15 min to the Colosseum, pretty close to everything, a supermarket nearby. But the district itself is not very pleasant. Great price for Rome. Stayed in an 8 beds room for women, squeaky beds.

United StatesThe A/C in the bedrooms, while present, was almost nonexistent. Also, they put around 18 people to a single bathroom on the second floor. That bathroom’s shower door is broken so the bathroom floods after a single shower.
Good location next to grocery and a prime bus stop. The staff worked diligently to ensure cleanliness throughout the property.
