How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The villa was clean and comfy, the breakfast was very good and varied, the coffee very good. Francesca was really nice and helpful! We had a very nice room with a newly renovated bathroom and comfortable shower. Highly recommended!

The room was lovely, the bed was big and very comfortable. The room was very clean and fresh, air con worked really well, mini fridge had water and was very good. Bathroom was large, and had lots of toiletries and products including toothbrushes and toothpaste! Breakfast was amazing. Francesca was amazing, preparing our breakfast, coffees, and giving instructions on everything we needed. She made our stay special.

That we had to leave ;)
Spacious room with additional kitchen patio. Very clean and comfortable. Within walking distance to main city points. Slightly off the beaten path which guarantees privacy and quiet stay. 50 meters from bus stop and local mini market and a pizzeria. Host very attentive and friendly. Organized lift to scooter rental place and return pickup. Highly recommended.

Nice big rooms with plenty of towels and disposable slippers. Good breakfast selection and good shower pressure. On the flat to walk to the castle area or the port where there are plenty of restaurants and bars.

Beautiful accomodation, very convenient location close to all amenities within walking distance. Host extremely accomodating professional and available for requests and information. I highly recommend this accomodation, will definately return.

Every thing is perfect. Even when when we reached bit delay, proactively Hotel team is following up. But very clean and neat. its very comfortable. Excellent One. Worth for money

Perfectly situated in a quiet street, but within easy walking distance of centre. The property itself was immaculately clean and everything you could wish for. Francesca was the perfect host and made staying at Villa Matilda a fantastic experience. Thanks Francesca. I will return without hesitation!

The hosts (Lello and Arianna) are hiper super kind and helpful. the room has plenty of space and it was great for a family stay since it has kitchen facilities. we had problems with our flights and Lello has super comprehensive, helpful and even pick us up in the ferry in his own car!!! they also wait for us after the breakfast hour. Very flexible! Very clean. We enjoyed our stay a lot. Thank you Lello and Arianna! 🤗

We had no complaints at all during our stay
The B&B was nicely located between the port and castle (within 20 minute walk). The room was clean and spacious with very good air conditioning. Our hosts were very accommodating and even went out of their way to help me find some medicine from the shop when I was unwell. We would definitely recommend to any visitors coming to Ischia.

The hosts were incredibly friendly, accommodating and helpful. We missed our ferry and had to book a last minute stay in the area, this b&b looked clean, safe and affordable. When we arrived, we were blown away by the upgraded facilities and generosity of the host! Lello drove us one by one on his motorbike to a local attraction we mentioned wanting to see. He also cooked breakfast for us the morning of departure. If I am able to return to his island, we will 100% stay again.

At breakfast table there were a lot of sweet food (cakes, sweet bread etc). Would like some more sour choices or opportunity to make a sandwich and wider variety of fruit :) But its a small remark.
Our host Lello was super friendly and helpful. Our apartment/room consisted of two separate bedrooms. Really nice, modern and also cozy. Nice rooms and nice bathroom. very comfortable bed, a lot of cabinet space. Also we loved this courtyard and opportunity to spend time there. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Lack of the kettle in the room. Some Pharaoh aints in the bathroom. The building is very acoustic. Only sweet breakfast. Stuff doesn’t speak EN. Weak internet.
Villas Localization is perfect for walkers. 10 min to the port. 20 min to the beautiful castle. Quite big room with AC and bathroom cleaned every day. A fridge in the room was also very handy facility. Modern with nice taste furniture and shower. Big double bed very comfortable. New brand towels
