Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like but we would have appreciated a map of Pisa to have been available to just pick up at reception. To be fair, this was an issue throughout our trip in Italy. I think people use their phones more now but we still like maps!
Firstly, Salvatore’s attention to detail in everything he did for us during our 3 night stay was exceptional and he can be contacted by phone or WhatsApp any time. Villa Natalina is set in beautiful gardens with a direct view of the Tower and rooftops of the Dome and Baptistry. The villa is immaculate. Traditionally furnished and has everything you could need. The bed was so comfortable and welcome after long days walking/touring. The room had air conditioning which was welcome. The shower room was again immaculate and had a great view. The shower was powerful and had lots of hot water. Breakfast can be taken in the garden (when it’s not raining!). Gorgeous home-made food on offer - homemade spinach and cheese pie, freshly baked cake each day, freshly baked rolls, prosciutto, cheeses, croissants and various jams/spreads Coffee is only available at breakfast. Various teas are on offer throughout the day in the dining room. Taxis need to be booked in advance and Salvatore was so accommodating on this front as he told us he had been on hold for 35 minutes for one client. Once he does get connected with the taxi company it is only around a 10 minute wait but do keep this in mind if time is tight for you. Taxi prices varied from €10 to €17 to the train station depending on time of day and how busy it was. It is only an easy 30 minute walk to the station without cases. Yes, there can be road noise at busy times but to be honest it didn’t bother us in the slightest and we are from the country and not used to traffic. The setting more than makes up for the noise. Ear plugs are thoughtfully supplied for those who may have trouble sleeping. Not us – that’s for sure. Security is good. Salvatore gives a code for the outside gate and another for the main door. Access to your room is by a room card. A safe is available in the bedroom. Thank you Salvatore - we had an amazing stay and will return if in Pisa.

United StatesThere's nothing I could think of that could have been better. We had access to a mini fridge, and water was also provided.
Holy smokes. This was our first stop on our vacation and they set the bar WAY too high. The breakfast was DELIGHTFUL, our host was so kind and accommodating, and our room had an amazing view of the Tower. Earplugs were provided for our use, but I found they weren't necessary. Our host even helped us with parking. He was always very responsive and helpful. Could not have had a better place to begin our vacation.

United StatesIf you're very sensitive to noise, the location is directly along a moderately busy local route. Not so bad in the evening, but the morning traffic will be heard in your room. The host provided soft hearing plugs on each nightstand when we checked in, so it seems they're aware and leaning forward to present a solution. This didn't take away from our experience, and even my very noise sensitive partner had no issues. The antique shutters in the bathroom (beautiful) didn't close completely, leaving a slight gap. The latch was misaligned, so be mindful of lighting conditions and decency until adjusted. Nothing I was worried about, but for modesty's sake, just something to note.
I don't generally stay in Bed and Breakfasts as I've had mixed results on room comfort, furnishings, breakfast quality, etc.. This property and the incredible host have made me reconsider. The location is absolutely amazing, with a perfect view of the Tower and the city walls from several of the bedrooms, a well maintained garden for dining outside (if you wish) and walking distance to pretty much everything in Pisa. The bathroom was nicer than many I've seen in four-star and even some five-star hotels with modern fixtures. The host, Salvatore (Bobo) was charming, INCREDIBLY helpful and accommodating, and presented us with a great tour of the property, helped us get street parking just outside of the location, and even offered up his metered space for a bit longer when we wanted to walk around. He left us a safe place to leave our luggage while we toured the city for a bit after checkout and provided a very useful umbrella on a rainy day. Overall this was a great location and I'd without a doubt stay here again if traveling to Pisa.

PolandThe only thing I do not like was the noise from the Main Street but this is in while Italy so people with light sleep like me have to deal with it but they had ear plugs next to the bed 😉 I think the bed mattress could be more hard but as well this is about personal preference.
The property is a magic. It is a beautiful villa. Everything is on the top! Salvatore is an amazing host. We got a room with direct view of the Tower.

RomaniaEverything was more than we expected: - large room & bathroom - super clean, no dust - villa and rooms nicely decorated - home made breakfast (not as you`d have at a hotel, but with everything one could eat in the morning: fruits, yogurt, coffee/tea/water, prosciutto, cheese, home made quiche, home made cakes, butter, jam, omelette) - great location (walking distance from the Tower - like 5 min, and 10-15 min from the city center) - awesome host (Salvatore was super helpful and was there to answer any question, he made us feel very welcome) - didn`t have any issues with heating or water as it usually happens with B&Bs
