The closure of the pool area each weekend for events Also, the pool could have been cleaner, there was green mossy around the sides. .. although the toilets were kept lovely And the gym weights were quite a poor selection.

The views were fabulous. The restaurant was lovely as was the American bar The staff were all very friendly.

I wish the property had a sandy beach instead of (mostly) pebbles. Also, the sun beds on the beach are so so for reading (back rest is a tad too short to support head/neck and cannot be brought above like a 45 degree angle; the deckchairs around the pool are much better). E-bike rentals are not very sophisticated models. Perhaps replace them with some decent e-mountain bikes or partner up with a commercial bike rental?

Great experience. Very nice location and property, delicious food, quiet and relaxing. All staff is visibly dedicated to (and succeeds in) providing an excellent service - friendly, in good spirit, professional. Special shout-out to the sommelier who really knows his wines!

Our room had a very small bathroom, but we asked for a change and they gave us a larger room with a better bathroom. Still some details were not up to a 5 star hotel (bathroom lights too dark, shower’s handle only on the outside)

Connecting hotel room. I didn't know that in advance. I asked for a move and the hotel was very accommodating but our view from the cottages was better so we stayed where we were. Cottage number 50 would be the best. Ours was 51 connected to 52.

Regimented Italian beach lounge culture....

One of the most beautiful hotel spots that we have stayed in. Evenings on the veranda with the sun going down is magical.

Isolated. No where within walking distance. 30 minute taxi to town. Pretty minor dislike.

Beautiful hotel right on its own beach with incredible view across the bay to Portoferraio. Good restaurant. Fabulous bar in the Villa with amazing cocktails containing ingredients grown on site. Nice swimable beach.

The hotel's relatively isolated location means that the only viable dining option is to eat dinner in the hotel. This meant we missed opportunities to try other cafes and restaurants in the evening. Although there were plenty of staff in the restaurant in the evening, they are not well-coordinated and despite appearing busy, in actual fact were quite inefficient in attending to diners' needs or requests. Training perhaps inadequate for young, inexperienced staff.

Although quite some distance from the main town, the location right on the beach is lovely. Very pleasant staff, especially worth a mention is the man who showed where to park and helped with luggage etc. The hotel's grounds are beautifully maintained and a delight to stroll around and find a relaxing spot, especially at sunset.

There was a lot of noise whilst they were cutting a tree down next to the pool.

Really was not anything we didn't like.

Loved every minute we were there. Breakfast, terrace, dinner, and staff were all excellent. Every single staff and service person we encountered was very professional and friendly. Everything we ordered at the restaurant or ate for breakfast was delicious and a good value. We would absolutely recommend this place.

Some areas do need some renovation and we had a minor issue with the room air conditioning which was resolved promptly.

Excellent location and staff. The restaurant and bar (seaside) are great. It’s an old school high end hotel which is very fitting for a break on Elba island. Our room was renovated very recently and assuming that real estate refresh continues, this will be a great place to stay for a very long time to come.

we were upgraded to an amazing room in the beautiful villa main building. the ceiling in the bedroom was incredible! (especially as we had just visited the Sistine chapel!) highly recommend

The furniture of the cottages could be modernised a bit.

We stayed in one of the cottages and the view was fantastic! We loved having an independent entrance and a small balcony. The buffet breakfast was great and, at any time, didn’t feel overcrowded. You can order coffees and hot items (eggs, pancakes etc.) a la carte and they will be brought to your table. The location of the hotel is perfect to visit the island. The swimming pool restaurant has fantastic food and an amazing view. There is live music in the evening while you can enjoy a cocktail and the sunset! Definitely recommended!

Everything was superb. In particular the service, at the highest level possible for everything. We got an upgrade when we arrived. The room was very cozy, I felt home. the lunches and the dinners were delicious and they were flexible, I needed the meals for my little baby at different times compared to the normal restaurant opening hours but they prepared everything we wanted at the right time. The bar at the villa is just wonderful, the beach is private and the guests were all nice and smiling. I could really rest and enjoy my holiday as much as I could.
