Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe pillows are huge - too huge for us. No washing machine. That's all I can come up with.
Mombaruzzo is perfectly located for wine enthusiasts who want to experience both the classic wines of Barolo, Barbaresco and Roero as well as those from the Monferrato region (some excellent Barbera and lesser known wines including Ruché) but its fantastic Amaretti Morbido are the star attraction (the café around the corner makes the best). The villa is beautiful the appartment is extremely comfortable with a great view over the village. Paola, who lives on site, is very friendly and helpful. There really is very little to fault about the place (see below for nit picking) and it is amazing value for money.

United Statesthis villa is in the heart of Mombaruzzo and you can walk anywhere from here as the village is small but stunning. this is a beautiful place, very charming, well furnished and equipped with every amenity. the outdoor garden are is beautiful. And Paula the manager is a jewel! super helpful & just wonderful! highly recommend this property. the owners & Paula are very prompt in responding if you have any questions or need assistance and they are very accommodating. I suggest renting the smallest car possible in italy because the streets are very narrow in case you did not know and even driving up to the villa which has abundant private parking a small car is advisable. this entire unesco area full of picturesque vineyards is breathtaking. people in town are very friendly.

FinlandThis perhaps concerns myself and Booking.com more than Villa Pesce, but if air conditioning is a must for you, please make sure the check in detail that it is available specifically in the apartment of your choice. Having said that, not having one wasn't a real problem in early July this year. The apartment still cooled down nicely during the night.
Villa Pesce looked great on paper, and even better in real life. We felt that the owners and the staff have really put their heart into turning an old palace into a modern, comfortable, peaceful, and beautiful place to enjoy a vacation to its fullest. We're looking forward to returning one day.

United StatesEverything was perfect except for the young children or grandchildren of the owner yelling VERY loudly at 6.45am on sunday morning for ten minutes, and singing songs. I believe that this must be exceptional and perhaps due to us being around for Easter. It woke us up quite brutally and kept us awake until they kept the volume a little lower, but was not pleasant at all. However, it was an isolated incident and other than this an absolutely fantastic experience!
Absolutely gorgeous view from our little balcony. Nice, spacious apartment, very comfortable and located right in the village. Restaurants nearby, parking on the property, and a cute little swimming pool with sunbeds.

GermanyBeautiful place for a family, in a small village surrounded by the vinyard. Thanks to Paola, we enjoyed our stay. She taught us hand-made pasta and prepared the swimming pool for our girls, even though the pool season is gone. Thank you very much, Paola!!

United KingdomThe bed was uncomfortable - very hot and too soft. The sofa was not the most comfortable to relax as a couple together. No English or Italian tv channels - we would have liked to watch the rugby World Cup. The pool was a bit cold for my taste.
Beautiful location, very peaceful, excellent food and restaurants close by. Beautiful views, parking, Paola was so helpful and very good at checking in, making sure everything was okay. The kitchen was very well provided with all the tools needed.

FinlandNice and cosy apartments, very clean, wonderful views, comfy bed and enough space for spending long winter days indoors. We were a group of 8 and occupying 2 apartments but they were so close that it did not feel being separated at all. We did not meet Paola in person but she was always available by phone, she upgraded us to a bigger apartment for free, which was very appreciated. Also nice village to be in. Would recommend!
