Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Our room was spectacular. The room service and concierge went above and beyond. Bravo to the team. Highly recommended. As we were attending a wedding, we didn’t have time to sample the Michelin Restaurant but the food at the pool bar was exceptional. We will be back!

United KingdomThere was not much to improve on. We did have a little issue with the electricity in our room as it kept tripping. It looked as if there was water coming through the bathroom light but the staff were amazing at sorting it and we were only staying for one night so it didn’t cause us much trouble.
The property was beautiful! We was greeted by extremely friendly and helpful staff, they could not do enough for you. We were upgraded to a beautiful garden room, which was lovely as it was my birthday. We had reserved a table at the La Loggia restaurant and had the vegetarian tasting menu and it was absolutely incredible. We had in room breakfast the next morning with a view and spent time at the pool, which was very relaxing. We loved that the property was dog friendly, even though we didn’t take ours, it was lovely to cuddle other people’s.

United KingdomCant think of much - its half hour in the evenings to catch the free shuttle to Florence - a bit of a pain on a regular basis.
This is a beautiful hotel, set in lovely gardens and exuding a sense of real tranquility. the staff were all exceedingly cheerful, helpful and efficient. the rooms big and comfortable - the public rooms were astonishingly beautiful and the whole place kept the sense of its monastic foundations...breakfast of the open terrace overlooking Florence was a wonderful way to satrt the day.

SwitzerlandIt was very expensive for us especially the resturant. As is common with many hotels we had a problem with the bill with resulted in an overcharge of €1,594 but this was resolved quickly and amicably at departure, and although worrying it did not spoil our stay.
Fabulous location, lovely historic building with modern services… beautiful gardens, friendly helpful staff. Brilliant breakfast in our own garden by our room. Regular and comfortable complementary bus service to the centre of Florence. We were offered an upgrade and quickly negotiated a discounted price on the published rate.

AustriaThe restaurant is really disappointing. We had such a fantastic food everywhere during this trip, but not in this hotel. Especially for this price. The staff also has to be trained.
Beautiful location and villa itself. We travelled with our baby, that's why the cold floor in the room was for us not so cozy, but I think in summer it is good. The hotel personnel is very friendly and professional.

KuwaitThe only thing I would mention here, is that a couple of times we would come back to the room and it wouldn't be made. When we called the housekeeping on both occasions we were told that we had put the "do not disturb" sign out when in fact we had not.
Overall the hotel was beautiful and the gardens were gorgeous. We loved how helpful and welcoming the staff were. The shuttle service is a huge plus, the pool was heated and breakfast was lovely both in the restaurant and room. We also specifically loved that there were events in the garden every other day, amazing musicians and artists! keep an eye out for the events as sometimes you come to know by chance.

United KingdomThe bed mattress was too firm for us and seemed to slope and be a little uneven where the two mattresses joined. Big beds are a nice thing but when two mattresses are joined together, the join must be undetectable.
Breakfast was excellent with great range of cuisine and top level attention to detail. Both the cooked to order menu and the cold buffet were very good quality.
