Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere are a lot of steps, which might be a problem for some people. But honestly, it’s the Amalfi Coast, there are a lot of steps everywhere. We ate a lot of good food so the steps were not the worst thing.
Location is amazing. The views are unbelievable and having access to the water is a great perk. Franca, the host, is lovely and will help you to make arrangements for whatever you would like to do.

United StatesThis is true for most every place I’ve stayed in Italy so no points deducted. But really could improve the “luxury” experience. The bed is quite hard. It would be awesome if there was an optional pillow top and extra pillows for us, Americans, who prefer a softer bed.
The property itself is absolutely stunning and like nowhere else I’ve ever been. The staff is also amazing… They have a perfect sense of being there when you need them, but not being over bearing. they are able to accommodate any reasonable request and there’s always someone available. I will absolutely stay here again when we return to Amalfi! Having the private beach is absolutely amazing.

IrelandYou need a scooter or car for this property. It is a 30 + minute walk to Amalfi on roads with no footpaths. There are bus stops close by but the buses are not reliable.
The views are stunning overlooking the Amalfi coast. It is a luxury to have a private view of the coast line without loads of crowds. The property also is close to Sofia Lorens villa so you are getting a view of that villa too. The property was decorated beautifully and everyone was very obliging and friendly.

South AfricaThe wifi was intermittent, but not a big deal.
Amazing views, incredible patio, fantastic staff. Francesca made our stay unforgettable - she is a true jewel. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The location is great just outside Amalfi, making it a lot quieter and the view is incredible. There is a bus stop just outside in the street, but it gets busy from Amalfi station at Easter (when we were there.) As a backup, one can walk to Amalfi (25 mins, scenic) or take a taxi (EUR 35, taxis are very expensive in Amalfi!) In my opinion, the location is a plus rather than a negative though! If you'd rather not go out at night, they even prepared us supper at the villa! Some reviewers lamented the stairs, but if it helps, they do have a porter to help with luggage. Anywhere pretty in Amalfi is going to involve stairs! Our stay was amazing, can highly recommend it!

United StatesThe only thing we didn't love was the restaurants nearby. We found them to be more expensive and not too good. Other thing was that the hot tub doesn't get too hot, but is still nice to enjoy on a warm day.
This was the best stay of our whole trip in Italy. The staff are absolutely incredible and want to make your trip so special. Francesca made sure we had everything we needed and was always accessible to help us and give us good tips. The second you arrive, you are greeted with kindness and welcomed to relax from the moment you arrive. The property is spectacular. You truly get to disconnect and have access to a beautiful private beach, secluded lounging areas, a sauna, surprise outdoor showers to rinse off and stunning views. We found it was the perfect little place to escape from the tourists in the busier city centers, but still had great central access to exploring the surrounding cities. The breakfast is DELICIOUS and in the most peaceful and serene location you can possibly imagine. You feel like you are royalty. It was truly peaceful, breath-taking and welcoming space. We loved every moment of it and felt so grateful to have found such a gem.

United Statesthe hot tub is not heated- disappointing, especially as it was cool in the evenings, so we couldn’t use it. the shower continued to have standing water and things floating in it from the drain- we notified them on the first night, but they never fixed it. They were very helpful when asked, but there were details we wish we’d know ahead of time (when staff are available, when food is available etc) and it would be good for them not to make it the priority to say, beyond all else, “you pay extra for that”- they were very money conscious about everything, which seemed unwelcoming and uncomfortably awkward at times. Also, it’s 166 steps and an uphill 300 meter walk to one of two restaurants, neither of which are casual, so unless you bring your own car or you plan on going out for dinner, best bring food down to the villa with you, or you’ll be facing a $40+ per person dinner requiring reservations and a long walk to get there if you wish to eat dinner. they were helpful in making the reservations, but there is absolutely nothing convenient/close by to the villa, and they don’t stock anything you have access to with food. they also need to air condition the bathrooms- you have to leave the windows open, which have no screen, so you get lots of mosquitoes in the bathroom- yikes!!! we each have 40+ bites on our legs after a 5 day stay there….

United KingdomBeautiful small family run villas in amalfi. Franca was very kind and let us check in early as we were only staying one night and wanted to make the most of it. The views are spectacular, the private beach and deck chair area was really peaceful. We enjoyed having food and drinks on the terraces and soaking up the views! Also location was good, right near a bus stop that took you into amalfi but you could easily walk in as well.

United KingdomThe hot tub was really only a tepid tub, which was nice during the heat of the day, but unfortunately not hot enough for the evenings. Also the sauna didn't seem to be working.
The views from the hotel were spectacular, they really were everything I'd hoped for and more. The location is absolutely spot-on: beautiful scenery, secluded and away from the crowds, but also accessible for the main town of Amalfi. The location makes this hotel, and there are ample spots to relax and take in the views. We sat out for breakfast on the patio every morning in the sun. Due to the small size of the place it meant we almost never had to compete for facilities or for a space to sunbathe, so it felt very exclusive and chilled. The access to the sea and beach is ideal, and a real rarity in this part of the coast we found! We couldn't have been in a better place to swim and snorkel and enjoy the turquoise sea! The rooms were nice, and as for the stairs - if you don't want to walk up/ down some stairs, don't come to the Amalfi Coast!
