Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe were pleased with every aspect of the stay. My partner can confirm that I am detail-oriented and nit-picky, but there was nothing to critique. The place was spotless, the hospitality was incredible, and we loved the position of the Villa within Levanto--it is such a good launching point for Cinque Terre, but is quiet and off of the beaten path.
The breakfasts and the hospitality were just above and beyond. It is a warm and wonderful B&B; you can feel the love, care and intention that has been put into VV. We will be thinking of those dreamy breakfasts out in the garden for a long time!

United StatesWe tried. It’s flawless.
Paula and Valentina, our hosts, were so welcoming and informative. They are model hosts. The breakfast of home made goodies was off the charts good (home made muffin, orange juice fresh, coffee, espresso, breads, homemade jam, scrambled eggs and shallots, waffles, bacon, avocado, melon, yogurt, fresh smoothie). The rooms are well appointed and I mean well. The garden is pure relaxation. The two dogs, Coco and Teddy, were fun to have around. We are well travelled living between California and Nice, so we know excellent when we experience it. If you want to visit Cinque Terre, make this your base and either train or boat there and to Portofino. The town is extra cute and deserves your time. The evening sunset - wow at beachside. Eat dinner at Trattoria Centro and believe it or not, the poke bowl at Brother’s Poke was as good as we have had. Stay at VV with confidence.

United StatesThe breakfast at Villa Valentina was out of this world. It was absolutely amazing. Everything was so fresh from the tomatoes, the avocado’s. The eggs were so tasty and I honestly wish I could wake up to their breakfast every morning. The beds at Villa Valentina are so beyond comfortable. I truly didn’t want to leave the room. The patios are so cute to wind down and have a glass of wine after a fun filled day. Paola and Valentina really go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at home. They even booked us dinner reservations and got us a driver. The dinner was absolutely amazing and our driver was very kind and accommodating. Look no further if you’re visiting Cinque Terre! This is the number 1 hotel!

United StatesThe only concern was the location, as it's up the hill away from downtown. But the staff offered to pick up and drop me off at the train station, arranges taxis for guests, and even has bikes to take for the day to get downtown.
This bed and breakfast was SO NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it so much. Everything exceeded my expectations and was such a treat. The service was amazing (picked me up and dropped me off at train station), the room was large and bed was so comfy, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I would come back in a heartbeat.

Villa Valentina is a beautiful village. Valentina & Paula are the best hostess, they made you feel as family. The Angelica Room was charming, big and confortable, with attention to detail all around. The property is located in Levanto, with great access to train and boat for an enjoyable visit to Cinque Terre & Portovenere.

BelgiumA bit remote from the centre of Levanto but a taxi ride at just 10€ and a parking card make up for that little inconvenience.
Very friendly and hospitable reception by Valentina. Great service and useful advice on visits, hiking, meals and more. Spacious rooms, decorated in a fresh countryside look with a Victorian touch. Breakfast is the land of plenty. Pancakes, toast, fresh yoghurt, poached eggs... with love from Paula :-)

GermanyAs soon as you enter the gate, you will find yourself in a little paradise with a small but beautiful garden. The appartments are cozy, perfectly clean and fully equipped. Valentina and her crew will make sure that you feel very comfortable during your stay. The location is a little bit far off, but you could easily take a bicycle which are provided for guests. United StatesNothing.
My husband and I spent 4 nights at Paula’s property. She and her daughter were the most wonderful hosts; welcoming, smiling, full of recommendations and always happy to help. Happy to help, but also good at leaving us to unwind and reconnect. The highlight of our stay was definitely Paulas breakfasts served in the charming garden each morning. The property also had parking passes we could use in town as well as bikes. We would go back in a heartbeat. Or maybe we’ll try their private house on Monterosso beach, which looked incredible too.
