Calm place next to the pulsed life, with an attentive host who is a part of the experience.

We didn´t have many expectations about Trastevere and mainly didn't have experience living there. But we met Giancarlo, and it was like a meeting with history, art, Roman life, and hospitality in one. Although Trastevere is more connected with restaurants and bars, we spent nights in a very calm place with an attentive host who prepared breakfast, helped us with transport, and shared the experience of his full-fledged life. It's a shame that we came to discover the beauty of Rome and not to discuss life.

We loved the neighborhood and the apartment but our favorite part was making a lifelong friend with Gian Carlos!

That we had to leave it.

The apartment is very beautiful with a balcony that overlooks a garden where you can hear nothing but birdsong.

One thing to note is that it may not be immediately obvious from the description that the host lives there too. All went well and we enjoyed his company, but it’s something you would want to know beforehand.

Amazing location, gorgeous apartment, very interesting and knowledgeable host.

The apartment is a short (10 minutes) but steep uphill walk from the center of Travestere. Not a problem if you’re wearing comfortable shoes and don’t mind a little exercise.

The host, Gian Carlo, is very kind and helpful. He lives on the premises and is often available to provide sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. He even gave us a ride over to St Peter’s one morning.

Giancarlo was a fantastic host! He showed us his favourite restaurant in Monteverde where we managed to have a late dinner. He was always available, nice and with a very good conversation, very helpful. Location is perfect, just 10 min away from main areas of Trastevere, in a calm area next to a parc with amazing views. Bus 75 (that goes to Colisseum) just stops at the door and you can just walking to Vatican. All was very clean and bathroom was quite big and full of products to use in the shower. Capuccino at breakfast was very good. We hope to be back one dat. Grazie mille!!

We were uncomfortable in an accommodation where we felt very unwelcomed.

It would have been good to know that it was not a classic B and B but instead a cluttered bedroom in a man's apartment with a bathroom across the hall. Because of a cultural/language problem he misunderstood our intentions and directly insulted our nationality (American.) We then keep to ourselves to avoid him. We were very uncomfortable there.

The location was great, the breakfast was not great
