The room was very dated - Reminiscent of my nonnas' house, unchanged since the 1970s with the same tiles too - I'm surprised the couches weren't covered in plastic. Be sure to bring a calabrian adapter for your euro adapter.

Friendly staff, great breakfast included in stay. Not too far from the centre of Tropea. Perfect for a night or two.

The hotel rooms are comfortable, but a little outdated. this is a minor thing.

Hotel Virgilio is situated in an excellent location at the centre of Tropea: a short walk from restaurants, boutiques, delicatessens and so on. A five minute drive to the beach. we enjoyed many of the most spectacularly, beautiful beach and coastal scenes with ever experienced. The staff at the hotel are kind and generous. We have excellent customer service.

Mattresses were not very comfortable and you can hear the running water from other floors when they take a shower.

Great location, big rooms with AC, clean and nice bathroom. Breakfast was pretty decent also.

The entire hotel is in a good state but old, maybe '70 or '80 I don't know, when you step in it you can feel that everything has aged. Maybe they should spend something modernizing it considery the price of the room.

The position of the hotel is good, just 5 minutes to the center of Tropea. The view from the room was great, we were able to see Stromboli and a bit of panarea from there. Also the sun sets exactly in front of our room.

No wifi at last level. Tv problem resolved by the verry kind lady from reception.

Wonderful kind staff, helping and smiling especialy at reception. Good breakfast buffet. Close to center and beaches. Great sea view .

The room was about 50 years old and the bathroom could have been cleaner.

The view was beautiful, and the breakfast was exceptional. The air conditioner was fine.

Very old and shabby hotel, my room at 4th floor smelled - drain from bathroom and wifi did not worked. On the other hand I asked at reception and they changed the room without problems. I understand that we are in south Italy and they maybe do not have money for renovation, but I believe that a lot problems can be repaired or changed... for example ugly chair in my room, sediments in the bathroom etc... you can hear every voices and noise from other rooms and corridors. I supose that this hotel has high potential to be nice when someone cares of it.

There wasn't something bad but the beds and pillows could be more comfortable as they were a little thin, the rest was good and met our expectations.

The staff in Hotel Virgilio was super nice and our stay was really good, I would highlight the location and breakfast, we will definitely recommend this hotel!

The decor is very dated and the beds were hard and the pillows very thin.

The staff were every friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and very clean. The hotel is in a great location - just an 11 minute walk from the train station and a 3 minute walk to the center of town.

The Hotel is really clean and the rooms have a good size. There is a AC and a fridge in the room so it is perfect for hot Calabrian summer days. Breakfast was also great, they had a good variety of food.

Hotel needs renovating! Shower screens hard to open & close, need replacing. Water builds up in shower but nothing done when we reported it. Mattress really hard. Pillows thin. Towels like sandpaper!
