How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Just a few steps from a public beach, and a five minute walk to the historic center, we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Vittoria. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They made good recommendations for restaurants and sights. There were many options for breakfast, and parking across the street in a lot if there was none in front of the hotel. The room was large and clean with a large bed, as requested.

Quality hotel. Rooms are modernly equipped - quality mattresses, minibar, kettle available in the room. Daily cleaning of the room, change of towels, provision of toiletries. There was no balcony, but a relaxing terrace is available for drying towels from the beach. Varied breakfast - salty and sweet, but the same, you can always choose, maybe we would recommend some vegetables. Definitely excellent coffee and sweet croissants! But above all, the professional staff who will meet you, whether in the restaurant or at the reception - they will help you rent a car, take a taxi to the airport ... Everything is close - the center, beaches, cafes, bars, shops, bus ... Thank you!!!

The breakfast was the same every day.

The stuff was very helpful especially Loren Dana who help us with a problem we had with the car. Anna Lisa gave us tips to visit places The location was great. The room was big, Breakfast was o.k.

There was an issue with the shower in my room and, no matter how many people came to fix it, nobody was able to resolve it. This was not a big problem for me but, having paid for a room with a sea view, I was placed into a room without one. The lady at the reception was originally not convinced by my complaint, but then agreed to switch me to a room with the view the next day, which she kindly did.
I loved the location!

Quiet hotel conveniently located close to the historical area, train station, and ferry terminals. Very helpful and friendly English speaking staff. I was able to leave my bike bag in storage whilst cycling around Sicily. Highly recommended for cyclists.

A/C didn't work in the original room.
Central location very close to large parking lot. Wonderful stuff: A/C in our room didn't work and they've upgraded us to a suite with several A/Cs. Good breakfast.10 min walk to the center of Old Town.

Nice hotel, great location, very polite staff, good breakfast - cheese, ham, eggs, cakes, sweets, toasts, marmalade, croissants. Room was clean and spacious, bathroom too, big double bed, smart TV, No problem with English language at reception. They helped us ( showed direction, recommended attractions)

Breakfast would have been little bit better.
We have been stayed 1 night in Trapany and found this place is very good choice exploring old city especially when you traveling around Sicily with a car, just few steps from huge parking lots. Big size room with high ceiling, which can be colder in winter, but it's still summer here Trapni in November.

An amazing hotel by the beach, really helpful and friendly staff, tasty breakfast and all the facilities I could ever wish for. I arrived after a leg surgery not able to walk properly and staff members were incredibly accommodating from finding me a room closest to the lift to constantly providing ice for my post-operation leg. I am really happy with the stay and would recommend it to everyone.
