Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesA couple of kayaks to use would be nice. The restaurant prices are high and to get to other places to eat involves an expensive taxi ride. Water pressure in the room was very weak. Above the bar/restaurant is a great big empty space which would be perfect for a pool table/ping pong table/game area which would be a nice addition.
We had a good stay, and compared to the all-inclusives that surround it, saved $1,000's for the same beach and sea. They have a great huge water trampoline to bounce off of. Everything was very clean and safe. Good air conditioning.

United StatesFood was very good. The staff was overall lovely and very friendly and welcoming. The location was a bit distant from some of the "action" in Negril. However, Gart taxi and tours were always available to take us to any destination we desired and they were very helpful and reasonably priced. Comfortable chaisses on the beach and good service by the staff there, as well. Lunch and beverages could be brought to us at the beach.

SwitzerlandThe location is actually not the one shown on the map, don’t be confused by that. We thought that the hotel was in negril at the beginning of the seven mile beach, but actually the hotel is 15 min drive from negril at the end of the seven mile beach. This information cannot be found online, this was not a good surprise because we booked this hotel especially for its so-called proximity with the negril, which is not the case. The breakfast service is awful, the lady responsible for the breakfast is not kind at all (never smiling and talking rudely to the customers). The private beach is beautiful with amazing sunset, however it is not a good spot to swim at all. To swim go at the Woodstock (which is located at the beginning of the seven mile beach).

CanadaGreat place to stay with everything you need at your convenience. Clean, good vibes, good restaurant, good location. If you feel social, Thursday night - go to woodstock for some reggae ($10 cab ride) and then to Jungle right across the road for some dancing and true Jamaican night club experience.

DenmarkNot much, However the kitchen was pretty slow in delivering the food. Breakfast or dinner - same delay? Nothing to complain about the taste of the food, just the speed. A better guidance about what facilities/ events/ Water events/sailing/ - just nearby in the boats etc, was lacking. A potential money maker also for the “village” to pick up. Everybody wants to do(buy) some activities.
Beautiful place, atmosphere, and friendly staff. The Beach is 1st class.

United KingdomThe food was OK but not the best we have had and is quite expensive. But we were offered a fridge for the room and so bought in enough for breakfast and light lunches which was great. We stayed for a week so this made it a lot more affordable. There are a lot of 'local's' restaurants in Negril so dining out was an adventure that we thoroughly enjoyed.
The hotel is fabulous, quaint, clean, tidy and so close to the sea. A fantastic place in a great location. The staff were amazing, very helpful, polite and kind, could not do enough for us.

United StatesThe water pressure was a little low. Because of the storm and rough water a a would have been nice
There was a huge storm that we didn’t know was coming. We were planning to go eat dinner down the beach, but with the storm we were afraid to leave. The staff cooked by phone light to make sure we had a meal. 😀

United StatesThe location was not ideal because the beach was in a zone where the muddy sediment had accumulated. There were also not many food options within walking distance outside of the hotel restaurant.
Service was excellent . The facilities were in good condition and clean.

United StatesOur room didn’t have a refrigerator, we had to ask for one and got one on our 3rd day there. The website states free massages, however they are not free.
Perfect location, beachfront, located right next to much more expensive hotels for a fraction of their cost. Great friendly staff, very well kept, amazing food at their restaurant and plenty of beach chairs.

United StatesNothing to dislike.
Beautiful beach front hotel with all amenities you would want. The whole property is immaculate and constantly updated to a high standard. It is a real Jamaican elegant style with great feeling of the country authenticity by using high quality materials and decor. The restaurant menu and food presentation was very nice. The personnel was very professional and friendly and very accommodating to all our request. This hotel is managed with care and pride and it is on top of our list of properties we have visited in Negril in the last 30 years. Highly recommended. Perfect. We will return.
