Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThis staying was the best out of all we stayed during our Jordan trip. We highly recommend to book it. The room and other house spaces where clean. The place was warm even there is no heating. Plugs need an adapter if you coming from Europe. The view from terrace is perfect: desert everywhere even you are not directly inside it you feel like you are there. Dinner and breakfast consist of authentic traditional food. It was so delicious. The communication with Ali (WhatsApp) upon arrival was amazing, we negotiate everything in advance: tour through Wadi Rum, food ect. Ali gave us also tips when we were planning our Jordan trip. We would like to thank Ali and his family once again for giving us an unforgettable beduin experience. We greatly appreciated his hospitality. Having tea, listening to traditional music, and talking over dinner was amazing. Our thanks goes to his brother for desert tour. Moreover, our thanks goes to his other brother for showing us their animals.

PortugalThere was a couchsurfer staying there at the same time and asked Ali if he could join our jeep tour and Ali said he would have to ask us. We said yes he could join but it would have been nice if he would have offered to contribute a bit. Ali was very very considerate, he was all the time trying to move away the couchsurfer from the jeep open part where we were, to the co-pilot spot. We could see Ali was trying to make the presence of the couchsurfer smoother and we had the feeling that Ali was more stressed about the presence of the couchsurfer than we were. So one note to others travelers (not to Ali at all!): if you are a couchsurfer I understand you may be on a budget (we also couchsurf sometimes) but if you join somebody's tour that they are paying for and you are not maybe offer to contribute a bit and also think about your host, you should not put them in a hard position.
Ali is a great host! We stayed at the house that was more than enough for the 2 of us. But we spent most of the time in Ali's tent, where we also had the meals. Ali's mum is a great cook and we loved the food. Ali offers all kind of tours (jeep, camel, etc) and he doesn't force you to take any. I really recommend doing one because price is more affordable that the one group tours and you basically go on a private tour. You can also room around the property, feed the camels and help in other chores. Ali has a good heart and also hosts people through couch surfing. We really enjoyed this peaceful and authentic experience.

It was very authentic staying in the compound with the Bedouin family and being entertained by them. The host was the best host we have ever had. He went beyond our expectations at every turn. We were expecting breakfast but he provided us with other meals as well. He included us in the nightly feeding of the animals, offered an exceptional desert experience which was great value. He also helped us with transportation to his home by booking a taxi and booking our bus to our next destination

BrazilAli is a bedouine guy that lives in Wadi Rum. He lives with his family but he has a tent in front of his parent’s house, and in this tent he welcome the couchsurfers to the desert life. He also has another house where he host the guests for a couple of nights. Ali is friendly and can create a glimpse of the bedouine atmosphere in his place. He does tours to the desert with his truck and he charges a good price for his guests.

SpainThe house is located on a quiet road next to Shakaria village, which means it's accesible with a normal car (not 4x4 necessary). Very private and just outside the desert. We had an amazing stay and the owner made everything so easy and was very flexible about check-in and out times, number of people and everything else that we requested, making sure all was nice and convenient for us. He and his mom even brought over homemade breakfast one morning and he arranged a jeep tour for us with almost no notice on such a good rate. I've been already a lot of times to Wadi Rum and can assure it was one of the best stays value for money.

GreeceI had an incredible stay at Ali's beautiful house in Shakaria village. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and comfortable in his tent. The accommodations were fantastic, the home was clean, cozy, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. You could even stay in his tent for the experience . What really stood out, however, was Ali is hospitality. He went above and beyond to make sure that I had everything I needed, including providing me with delicious food and sharing his extensive knowledge of the local area. His tips and recommendations helped me to see and experience parts of Wadi Rum that I never would have discovered on my own. Overall, I would highly recommend staying with Ali to any traveler visiting Wadi Rum. He is an exceptional host who genuinely cares about his guests experiences and goes out of his way to ensure that they have a memorable stay. You can also have a jeep tour, or camel ride in really good price. Thank you for everything Ali.

GermanyStaying with Ali was one of the best experiences of our stay in Jordan. This is not a hotel, we were welcomed into his family and home. His mother made some amazing food, we had a lot of fun during the evenings in the tent and tried out playing the Rebab. He also helped us with the activities in Wadi Rum without being pushy at all. We ended up going camel riding with his brother for just 2 JD each and the next day we did a hike to Jebel Kharazah which I can very much recommend. We stayed in a newly built house which was simple but clean. Also you have a lot of space. It's an amazing place to stay and experience the hospitality and culture of Beduins. Thank you very much for everything Ali!

ChileThis is a heads-up for the future clients of Ali, rather than things that I did not like: Do not expect an hotel style comfort. You will be spending the night in a tent on the dessert sand, besides a rock hill. The setup is very simple, but works OK (just a bit hard). If you have concerns about food cooked on the spot (cleanliness or others), then talk to Ali before starting the adventure and ask him to explain all in detail. For me all was very enjoyable. Just one minor, easy to fix, thing to recommend to Ali: don't let your alarm run unattended for one hour at 5:00 AM
To clarify: I am rating here the stay at the desert in a tent with my host, Ali. The story: upon arriving at my accommodation in Wadi Rum, I asked my host if he knew about tours to the desert, camel ride, etc. And (of course), he happened to offer all of these. So, I bought the pack of camel ride, jeep tour through the Wadi Rum desert and a night in the desert, bedouin dinner and breakfast included. It was a very nice experience. Ali is a good host and cook, and, as a real Bedouin, he can tell you all about the desert, while showing you bedouin games and taking care of the fire. A very enjoyable and recommendable experience.

GermanyAs you explore a traditional Beduine life you sleep on thin mattresses with blankets. There were no sheets, clean towels or toilet paper. Maybe consider to bring some things of your own if you don’t want to miss anything.
We were warmly welcomed by Ali‘s family, ate very delicious dinner as well as tasty breakfast from Ali’s mother in their Bedouin tent. The Bedouin culture is special and you can prepare for it. We slept in a separate house but it is not like a hotel. Ali gave us several tips where to hike and cycle in Wadi Rum close to his home. We were quite alone in the desert with amazing views. We are thankful for this kind of experience we made and for the new things we learned.

United States.
I met Ali through Couchsurfing and he was kind enough to take me in for a night in his village of Shakaria on the edge of an iconic expanse of Wadi Rum, and tried to get me to stay for three. He gave me a well-plotted activity of the perfect things to walk to and sent me on my way. Can help you get a camel or jeep ride to the desert for a more than fair price if you want to splurge a little. He fed me delicious Bedouin food and tea and made me feel at home in his cozy abode. Introduced me to his family and his family animals. You couldn't ask for more. It's not a scam and he won't ask for any money. He just wants guests who harbor genuine curiosity about how his community lives and don't want the "stay in a hotel and only interact with the locals when you're hiring them to do stuff for you" vacation too many people default to. Go here to actually connect to the people and place, but don't bring resort sized service expectations. Very low-key and easy to get along with youngster. Worried about my safety when I stayed out a little too long in the desert.
