Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We have a fantastic stay in the camp. The staff is really kind and helpful. Mohammed the owner is a very kind guy and a great tourist guide as well. The camp has a nice location and really quiet. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bed was hard but I liked it. I can just recommend for everyone.

RomaniaNot the acommodation fault but there were a lot of mosquitoes outside and the rooms were very hot.
For a desert camp, this was great. The rooms and the bathroom were clean. Mohammed was very friendly, helped us with the jeep and camel tour and did whatever he could to make us feel welcomed. They even had cold water after we got back from the jeep tour.

GermanyWhat a lovely little camp, nicely hidden within the desert! Only 5 double rooms, so maximally 10 guests. The "tents" are solid little houses with fully functioning electricity, shower, toilets. Even in July, it was no problem not to have an air condition because the wind and the fan still helped to cool the rooms down. Muhammed is the perfect host, and his cook made a delicious dinner. Driving around in the jeep with Muhammed was absolutely worth the extra money as we could see so much of this amazing area, and learned so much about the actual life of the locals which have mainly left their beduin life behind.

AustraliaOnly issue is how hot it is in summer which you need to expect - you are in a desert. The fan works well but the rooms are hot all the time - no AC
It is very quiet here, we had the whole camp to ourselves! The dinner is lovely and breakfast is simple but great. The common area is lovely and generally has a breeze. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom and rooms were clean. Mohammed organised all of our activities- 4 hour desert drive and a half day hike. The wifi works also.

ItalyNothing that we didn't like ! I continue the review here becase no space above ... Zaid (Mohamed’s brother) was our driver and guide for an amazing 4 hour tour through Wadi Rum: breathtaking sightseeing, strategic stops to see Nabataean inscriptions, climbing up a location (the fictional planet Pasaana) used by Star Wars movie, Siq Um al Tawaqi canyon and the inscriptions of Lawrence of Arabia and King Faisal, Lawrence’s house, Um Fruth rock bridge and along the tour a few stops to rest at Zaid’s friends’ tents where complimentary tea is always waiting for you. Absolutely outstanding was the camel ride at the sunset. Both Zaid and Mohamed speak fluent English and they are open to provide you with any kind of info you might need. For better understanding, I had a very pleasant conversation with Mohamed about Bedouins’ history, customs, traditions and life style. At last we lived a thrilling experience by coming across a rather big camel spider (Galeodes arabs) ... not deadly to humans although its bite is particularly painful ! Overall a unique and unforgettable experience which I suggest anyone to try in his life.
Prior to our arrival, everything was easily arranged by messaging the facility. We received a warm welcome by our friendly host Mohamed from the first moment of our pick up at the Visitor Centre where you park your car. The camp is located within the Wadi Rum Nature Reserve (which is not a given) and consists of only 5 tents. It is also quite secluded from other camps some of which are quite noisy (horrible feeling for those who want to enjoy the silence and peace of the desert). The room was comfortable, spacious, clean, with private bathroom, fan, and a beautiful window wall looking out over the spectacular desert. Complaining about the lack of air conditioning ? Well if so, choose a larger and busy camp with the noise of the generator and you’ll definitely stay cool ! We visited the place at the end of June ... it’s is hot during the day –of course- but pleasantly dry and of course it is very hot when you enter your room in the evening ... but you are in the middle of the desert and ... you have to accept it as part of the experience. In the camp you can take advantage of free Wi-Fi connection and complimentary tea and coffee. We were the only two guests during our stay, and the very pleasant atmosphere made us feel like family members. Our reservation included dinner too: the Egyptian cook prepared an excellent meal indeed. We were at the camp during Eid Al-Adha (referred to as the “Festival of sacrifice”). An animal (lamb/sheep according to Bedouin traditions) is being sacrificed to eat 1/3 with family members, 1/3 with friends and 1/3 with poor people. Well we had the honour to be served that same absolutely amazingly & super tasty meal: by far the best lamb we tried on our trip to Jordan along with other food. The activities that are offered (for a fee) are 4 X 4 pickup truck tour, possibility to try sandboarding down the dunes and camel ride.

HungaryNot the fault of the place itself, but bare in mind that altough it is in the desert, the tents are very-very hot even during the night and there are many mosquitos.
This place is a wonder. It is a small quite camp, feels like the desert is yours :) Mohamed is a lovely host, we took a jeep tour with him which was great and really worth it. The tents are lovely, comfortable and the view from them is stunning - we had night visitor wild camels as well, it was an incredible experience. Food was also great, thanks for the chef :) Outside sitting area is lovely to watch stars from. Overall we had an amazing experience.

MaltaIf you are seeking a quiet, well-served camp in Wadi Rum, without the din of loud music and large groups, this is ideal. Facilities are basic, though much more than one would expect in a desert setting. Mohammed is a gracious, soft-spoken host. He is punctual and organized. in case you’re thinking of a desert tour (2/3/4 hour), Mohammed is a very safe and careful driver. He does not try to show off his off-roading capabilities by tossing his passengers around in the back of the (Toyota Hilux) pick-up truck. He speaks fluent English and is knowledgeable about Bedouin history and customs.

RomaniaI would focus more on the cleanliness of the bathrooms, but everything else was great.
If you are looking for a small and calm and peaceful atmosphere in the hearts of the desert, than this is the place to be. The hosts are really nice and polite, foos was really tasty and more than enough for both the dinner and breakfast. we recommend to the guests to take the 4h jeep tour so they can visit and enjoy the immensity and beauty of Wadi Rum. sadly we could not enjoy star gazing tours as there was full moon, but we enjoyed a beautiful night view of the rocks around the camp from the dune in front of the tents. Wifi connection worked incredibly, and was totally unexpected. I highly recommend this camp and we will go back soon!

NorwayThe camp consists of only 5 huts and therefore feels homely and allows for an even more relaxing stay. You can book trips directly with the owner, they will arrange everything for a very reasonable price! The highlight of our stay were definitely and owner of the facility and his brother. Two very nice guys that showed a great sense of hospitality and that were eager to help whenever they could. We would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a calmer and smaller place to stay a bit outside of the village!

if your looking for a small 5 tents only location, very quiet and nice views - this is the place. other camps seemed huge and with generator, while Desert Jewel was small, personnal and quiet. Mohammed and his 2 brothers took care of us like family, from picking us up at the visitor center to arranging a 4h Jeep tour on the same day. Food was OK, and the tent itself is spacious, confortable.

CroatiaI recently had the pleasure of staying at a desert camp in Wadi Rum, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed with the warm welcome I received from the hosts. They were attentive and made sure that I was comfortable throughout my stay. The camp itself was clean, tidy, and well-maintained. My tent was spacious and comfortable, and I had all the amenities I needed to make my stay enjoyable. The highlight of my experience was the dinner, which was cooked by the camp's talented chef. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious, and I couldn't get enough of it. Another highlight of my stay was the tour of the desert. The host took me on an amazing tour, showing me some of the most beautiful and breathtaking sights in Wadi Rum. The tour was informative, and I learned a lot about the history and culture of the area. Overall, my stay at the desert camp in Wadi Rum was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience. The hosts and chef were outstanding, the accommodations were comfortable and clean, and the tour was amazing. I would definitely come back here again in the future.
