Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsNothing, really.
We came to this hotel after a week or so of intensive sightseeing throughout Jordan. The best decision we made! It's not a big resort, which actually was very nice. Staff is great, 24/7 roomservice and nice food, and everything is very clean. A big plus here is the coral reef right in front of the hotel, perfect for snorkeling and swimming, as well as the pools and private beach. It really is a great place for relaxing! We would definitely come here again if in Aqaba.

PakistanFood is average and can be a lot better, but the beach is amazing.
Everything was very good. Great service and great staff. From check in till check out, everything was seemless. Facilities are amazing, and they have one of the best house reef for snorkelling and diving. Please use the local dive centre of the hotel. It's the lowest price and best service. Also for visitors rent the snorkelling equipment on day 1 as its one time cost for the whole trip. For those who have their own snorkel, you still need the fins around the reef. Definitely visit tala bay restaurants

United KingdomAlthought the buffet food was varied and delicious, I fell sick during the second night of our stay, probably from non fresh watermelon pieces.
The location and the view were amazing. The hotel offers diving course. The swimming pools were deep and perect for a swim. The hotel welcomed us with some baklava and cookies to celebrate Eid Mubarak. The food and cocktails were delicious.

Spacious rooms that were full of all amenities including water which was so appreciated and a mini bar that was free. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beachfront was beautiful and well maintained everyday with workers who worked so hard. Able to snorkel off the beach front and the life guards were helpful Dia and Salah! Can hire the snorkelling gear for so cheap. The dive centre seems great too although we didn’t dive ourselves. Breakfast buffet offered a very wide variety of choice and fresh fruits and food. Mery at reception kindly gave us an upgrade also which we were appreciative of. Thank you so much.

PolandNot in our hotel area, but where it's japanese garden coral reef 10 mins far from Luxotel, I noticed some people not respecting this area and I felt sad as we must value it and protect it as much as we can.
Everything. The room is spectacular, the food is very good. The reef in front is really beautiful. Please if you go there respect the corals, they're healthy and I wish they stay healthy forever. Special thanks to Ibrahim who did really make sure we enjoyed our nights there with great shisha and comments. We appreciated we had to depart very early in the morning and they prepared some breakfast boxes for us. We will be back for sure to explore more this beautiful red sea and enjoy more this hotel as we did not have time to use the spa!

United KingdomThey don't serve alcohol. Luckily we had our own car, so were able to buy drinks in the supermarket a few minutes drive and bring it to the hotel as they allow you to bring your own alcohol.
Beautiful hotel by the sea with its own diving school and coral reef. It's all super clean and I loved the swimming pool. We had booked a garden view hotel and because there was availability we were upgraded to a sea view room! It was superb! Amazing bedroom! Super spacious, comfortable, brand new and all the utilities! bathrobe, slippers, etc. Great staff members in reception, restaurant, bar, pool, etc. Great buffet breakfast!

SpainThe hotel is beautiful, top level, the views, the coral reef in the beach, everything is literally amazing. The food was delicious and very abundant, staff always happy to help. Chequi was a star and helped us constantly with anything we needed, she’s the best! Abdallah was very good as well, always worried about us and trying to help with anything. All the staff always smiling and in good mood, very good people!

JordanThe pool could be heated. The breakfast quality can be improved by having fresh seasonal cut fruit (not canned fruit) and better quality breads (the baguette and toast were very dry and brittle).
I liked that it was small and contained, not a high rise with too many rooms. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. It was good to partner with Marina Tala bay for Neptune excursions.

Lovely hotel located in Tala Bay. Very quiet, clean, perfect for relaxation. They have a private beach, pool, jacuzzi, diving center, gym, spa, restaurant and a pool bar. From the pier you can go directly to the coral reef and watch the sea life while snorkelling. My room had a sea view, it was very spacious, modern and elegant. The variety of food may keep you in the dining room for half a day :D The staff is extremely nice, helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend it!

PolandThere was no dinner buffet (probably because there was not enough guests), we had to order a la carte. We found the menu not interesting for vegetarians, especially since the same restaurant was also the only option or lunch.. The breakfast buffet was great though!
Private beach was great, there was a possibility of snorkling and diving. Lots of colorful fish. We liked that the minibar was free and restocked everyday. We also got a free upgrade to a room with a sea view, which was great. The bathroom was nice and the beds were very comfortable. The staff, especially the women, were super friendly and helpful.

United StatesThe one thing we were not expecting was that the hotel was "dry" i.e., no alcohol. There was no close market to purchase drinks.
The location with attached dive center was excellent. It was very easy to coordinate dives. Svetlana was extremely professional and helpful during our stay. The facilities were clean and met our expectations. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of selection. Evenings were a bit more restrictive in that there is only one restaurant with a limited menu. But the food was very good.

GermanyIn the low season, the hotel offers no breakfast buffet. Thus, we received fresh omelette and the usual dips like hummus. Unfortunately more choices like pancakes, fruit salads or fresh pastries were not available. I would have expected more here. However, we really loved everything else so it was still a 10 for us :)
Perfect for a time out, quiet, few people, amazing view and beach access. We got a free upgrade with sea view which was totally worth it. On request the hotel helps getting a taxi for 10 Jod from Aqaba.

CanadaThe only thing we didn't enjoy as much was the restaurant for lunch or supper. The food wasn't great and they only had 1 vegan option - it's supposed to include 3 different kinds of salads, but they all had the same ingredients and vinaigrette - the tabouleh had no blghur or parsley in it. The fattouch had no toasted bread... My husband got the steak sandwich as recommended by the staff and it was tasteless... Maybe we just chose the wrong things.
We had a great stay at the Luxotel. The staff was super kind and the facilities & amenities were very nice. Everything was well taken care of and maintained. They even gave us a room upgrade which was really nice. The rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfy. The wifi was good throughout the property. The breakfast buffet was great. Lots of food. Plenty of options - vegan-friendly too.
