Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was hard finding a camp because it felt like they were all the same and many reviews seem a bit sketchy. The first place we reserved insisted we give them a credit card number via WhatsApp. This location (Katrina) didn't do anything shady and was super easy to work with. They talked directly to our driver to figure out the logistics of getting us picked up. Our excursions seemed reasonably priced and the people we delt with couldn't have been easier to communicate with or nicer to hang out with. We did not see or eat the dinner. They packed us a to-go breakfast so we could eat while heading out for the sunset.

Katrina Rum Camp and the tours we arranged through the hotel exceeded our expectations. The camp host Ayad was very personable, friendly and made us feel like we were at home. The food was traditional and delicious. Our room was welcoming, the views were extraordinary and overall our experience was a 10/10. Malik and his brother were our guides during our stay and they provided exception service and comfort. We will forever remember our experience in Wadi Rum and are extremely grateful we stayed at Katrina Rum Camp and booked our tours through the camp.

SingaporeSome maintenance is required: Martian tents need some maintenance with the doors - key got stuck and we had to move tents. Also no batteries in the air con remote. Worth nothing some tents have a shower cubicle but others are "wet room" style bathrooms, not for everyone. Hot water is turned off evening and early morning so you need to inform them if you wish to shower during these times
Wonderfully friendly and responsive staff Nice Breakfast and dinner Martian tents were clean with beautiful views of stars and desert Nice desert tour

We contacted Malik and he created a beautiful program of activities for us: a 4-hour jeep tour and we explored the beauty of the desert, and the stargazing tour is magical. The staff is very caring and kind, and Malik was very interested in us. The tents are clean and the food is nice. Thank you all

Clean, quiet, beautiful night view. Malik and Aied were amazing. I was very ill due to some food poisoning and they were very attentive. No pressure to do anything. Upgraded room for free. Willing to take me to doctor. This is a new camp and it is great value for the money.

IndiaThere are very few things to dislike. But the camp staff used to switch off the geyser electricity supply frequently. I understand, it may be a precautionary measure, but if they inform before doing so, that would helped us to manage our activities. Atleast they were proactive enough to switch it back on whenever asked.
Malek was a wonderfull host for our night stay at the camp. He gave us a bubble room towards the front and we thought it was a nice gesture. The rooms were clean and spacious. All facilities were present including an geyser and an AC. Food was nice considering we were staying in the middle of a desert. We had zarb during dinner, and there was a small performance after food as well. The location of the camp is outside the protected zone, but Malek gave us a 4 hour jeep tour which was excellent throughout. We spent close to 5 hours and finished with a sunset. Malek ensured we touched all the important places. There were no power cuts and supply was stable through out. The place was beautifully lit up at night, so we could walk inside the camp boundary for a while and it was completely safe. Would definitely recommend Katrina Rum Camp to other travellers also.

United StatesThis is not a criticism, but it’s a good idea to obtain cash before entering Wadi Rum. There is only one ATM at the visitor’s center and it was nonfunctional when we tried to withdraw cash. Malik went out of his way to find someone who would help us exchange money so that we would have funds while traveling.
The “bubble” we slept in was new and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The water was hot for the duration of our showers, and the internet was good from our “bubble.” We ate dinner and breakfast at the property. The dinner was particularly good. There were tons of activities available for the park that the property offered: truck tours of WadiRum, camel rides, balloon rides, and stargazing trips. We let them plan our Wadi Rum itinerary and were pleased that we did. The hospitality we received was the best part though. The staff, especially Malik, really went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Near the end of our stay, my husband mentioned to Malik that his father would like to visit Wadi Rum. Malik responded, “When your father comes here, he will be my father.” Based on his incredible hospitality, I believe him.

RomaniaMalik was not just our host/guide, he treated us like family. He is a kind and fair man and his tour with him was unbelievable! Everything was perfect : the tent was exactly as per our expectations, clean and cosy. He offered us the best tent view. He took us to the most important places and the views were just amazing. The stargazing also was out of the world, a surreal experience. Thank you, Malik! For being you, a kind and fair person and we felt like home! The tour was amazing and we felt super safe in the desert. We will come back for sure! We recommend taking the tour with Malik and staying in this camp!

Malik was a great host. Living in a camp is a unique experience. The bubble rooms were great. Unfortunately, the electricity is only there from 7 pm to 9 am in the morning. But it seems to be the normal case also in other camps. All in all a very good experience.

JordanWe couldn't have had a better experience. From start to finish the hosts were welcoming, generous and thoughtful. The people at the camp couldn't do enough for us. We had two wonderful trips, a picnic in the desert and a four hour desert tour. The guides spoke excellent English, and made everything very enjoyable. The food was freshly made, delicious and plentiful. There are many camps to choose from, but we were very happy we came here. Highly recommended.
