Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandMinor faults like : Wi-Fi sometimes loses signal. Breakfast included is super basic. Shower pressure is not strong.
Nice location on the hill with a panoramic view of Petra. Cheap compared to other places in Petra but still good value. Mela should get pay rise, she works super hard,7 days a week to make all customers feel like at home. The owner is a funny guy, he welcomed us in a positive way. Dinner was tasty but a bit pricey. Lunch box, 5JD, you can order it the day before and pick it up in the morning from the reception. Room was clean.

United StatesThe room with a twin bed and a full bed had sufficient space but unpacking a suitcase might be difficult. Situated up in the hilly part of town means you have to drive through sharp curves and steep roads (sometimes, both!). The parking space looked like it wasn't finished yet - not a big deal - but it wasn't well paved/leveled. You could hear the praying noise from the nearby mosque like 5 times a day (not the property fault). If you paid by card, they would add 2 Euro, so be prepared.
The location was not far from Petra Visitor Center, less than 3 km. The property is located up on the hills so it gets cool, pleasant wind (in early November). The female staff named Mila was very nice and welcoming. The 10 Euro dinner wasn't bad and the 5 Euro lunch box (in case you wanted something to eat while exploring Petra) was huge (maybe about 2 kg. of fruits).

United KingdomNo real signage to see where we were. They had taken a long time to sort out the paper work. Beds were reasonable condition. Bathroom was a little dated. Plus no ironing available.
It was very basics but did the job for the family, have us two rooms which was very nice. Breakfast was standard boiled eggs and bread and other Arab stuff.

Mela and Abdel are the real stars of this accomodation. If there is anything you need, from tea to a nice conversation, Mela will do everything to make you feel at home at this place. Abdel has a lot of knowledge about Petra that he happily shares with everyone. The accomodation is clean and comfortable, especially for this price.

Hong KongThe location is 7-10min drive from Petra Visitor Centre, so if you don't drive it's quite far. The shower is just enough to fit 1 person in with the curtains, and water might spill out to the toilet area (it was fine by us)
The room is very clean. And the air con is like brand new. The bed is also quite big but towards the hard side. Our room is just ok to fit 2 big luggage. They provide free breakfast which you can take away to Petra. And they also do occasional dinner with local food.

The location is great if you want a quiet place with a view away from the noise of the city. Perfect if you have a car, a bit trickier (but do-able) if you don’t. cheers!

Czech RepublicWe booked a five-bed room with a private bathroom but got two rooms with a bathroom at the corridor outside our rooms. It was impossible to wash down the toilet and it was also without trencher so not much comfortable to sit on it. The WiFi almost all the time wasnt working, the owner try to fix it but after few hours fell down.
It was easy to find but far away from the center, without car is really hard to get Petra entrance. The owner is a nice men who try to help us with everything. There is a big park place where you can leave your car. We got a breakfast to Petra take away at 6am, just few pitas with cheese, jam and apple, but it was including price of accommodation, also a similar lunch box for 5 JD. The rooms were clean, with all stuff for sleeping, comfortable beds and air-condition included. For this price it was good stay. 🙂

FranceThe bathroom was leaking, wifi does not work well. The breakfast is so so. The food price is really expensive. : no value for money (lunch box at 5jd or dinner at 12) which is more than European standard (keeping in mind Wadi Musa is full of scammers).
The lady who work there is awesome really nice, friendly, helpful. Thanks again to her.
