Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe bathroom door could not be closed in our room. And the doors to the corridor are so thin that we could hear everything happening outside of our room so we couldn't rest much, but probably we also had really loud neighbours.
Nice friendly, close to everything, good value for money.

United Kingdomvery minor thing- bathroom would get very wet after a shower and there wasn't a mat to stop water being trekked through the room
the manager Alia was very helpful and friendly , we booked a family room with private bathroom and 4 single beds , bedding was clean and beds were fine. the dining area had hot water, tea and coffee available in the day which was great. location was ideal..there are restaurants , mini mart in walking distance and a fabulous pancake and waffle house ! 4 mins in a car to petra visitor centre , take a car, you will not want to walk back uphill after a day out at petra! breakfast is boiled eggs, breads, jam , salad...pleasant and filling!

HungaryThe staff was really kind and helpful! They welcome us with a cup of hot tea what we could enjoy on the rooftop terrace. The man from the reception helped us what we should see in Jordan and he helped to prepare a route plan. The accomodation has a really good atmosphere and the view from the room is really beautiful. The location is also 10 point, 3 minutes to reach the restaurants and we could park easily with the car. The price value is also 10 pont!!

Great hotel in the middle of Wadi Musa. It is very close to the entrance of Petra and easy to walk there. Everything needed is around in 2 mins walking - great restaurants, markets, bakeries, exchange… great value for money!

Costa RicaThe smell was terrible, it was impregnated in the walls, mostly the bathroom. For someone on budget it works great, it has what you need however the rooms are very old, in my case the smell, like maybe they just clean with just water or they dont care adding some fragrances. I would say the place is not worth the money but because it is an expensive area and compared to others that charge a lot, it is an option... The parking is out on the street, if you are lucky you get a spot, literaly I saw a car hitting another car and they just left, at first I was afraid but Jordanians seem honest people. So if you are picky, expend a couple of bucks more to get a place according to your needs. Petra is a place with poor conditions, they depend only on turism so the conditions/infraestructure of many hostals/hotels are poor, I guess thats why the big hotels charge a lot.
The owner and manager are nice people

ItalyI think with the high request of having before sunrise breakfast in Petra it should be an option to have it there sitting down.
The shower has a good pressure (rare thing in Jordan) but it is right behind a Mosque that starts really loud at 5AM. The breakfast to take away before 6.30 is in a bag, so it is comfortable but some things are really not great (like the hummus in a juice box). Some language barrier but overally it is a decent hotel for its price. 20 min walking from the actual Petra gate, so let's say that the name is a bit of a cheat.

PolandThe room was according to expectations and Lea went above that!
Lea was extremely friendly and helpful. We had messaged each other through the Booking.com chat before our arrival and she helped me make a last moment change. Upon arrival, I also booked the trip and overnight stay in Wadi Rum with her and everything was very well organized. The room had perfect air conditioning and was clean. It was also close to the Petra entrance (10 minute walk downhill) and had many cafes and restaurants closeby. On the last day, we had a late bus taking us to Wadi Rum and Lea allowed us to stay a few extra hours at the hotel. Lea really went above and beyond to make our stay at Petra an unforgettable one!

PolandThe hotel is very close to the Petra visitor centre so it is very convenient. In rooms is a bathroom. At the hotel is a dining room where guests can eat or dring something before / after sightseeing. A receptionist working at the hotel is a lovely cheerful person giving advice about sightseeing but also where to go to eat something local and where to buy what. From the terrance is a very nice view at Petra, especially at night.

JordanThe kindest people work at the Petra Gate Hotel. They are willing to tailor to one's needs. They also prepare delicious breakfasts and dinners within a very reasonable price range. The hotel comes with a covered terrace at the roof with the most beautiful view, perfect for watching the magical sunsets in Wadi Musa.
