How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great location, friendly and very helpful stuff. Everything was welcoming, relaxed and easy going! 🙂 I would choose it again. It was super nice and easy to meet with the other guests in the common area ! Free Tea and water was great!!! It kind of felt like home!

Rooms are clean, prefect for some days in Aqaba, and close to everything. Area with cheap restaurants. 5 minutes walking from everything. Sabri, the owner was doing everything to make you feel like home. He is helpful with tips and tricks, food, excursions, and good conversations. You'll definitely fell like home here and make new friends.

The people were so nice and friendly, also helpful. Rooms were clean n tidy. Also the location of hostel was literally at the city centre so for a person who dont know the city, might be the best option with a nice price.

Bed was clean and comfortable, but the pillow was to (very) hard for me. Tipical arab bathroom - but due to hostel status perhaps a shower cabin could be mounted to provide more dry floor
Really good location 300 m from the main centre of Aqaba and 600 m to central beach (not South beach, where most tourist go). Clean, very nice owner Sebri with worthy informations where to go or even he aranges valuable pack.

the hostel is in a really nice area and it looks like a big family house, easy to connect with other travellers as reception, kitchen and rooms are close together. I stayed just one night but I would have liked to stay more as I had such a nice time!

It was the first time in my life that I stayed at a hostel. The whole experience was far above my expectations. The hostel has a very good location, everything is nearby. The street where streetfood and restaurants can be found is aprox. 50 m from the hostel. Sabri, the owner of the hostel, the engine and the soul of the hostel who speaks 4 languages fluently, has made everything so that our stay in Aqaba becomes unforgettable. He has helped to organize our programs, provided the necessary information even if he was not there personally, he took care of us. We could count on him which means a lot in a foreign environment. Every room has an AC, fridge and locker for our stuff. There was enough sockets to charge our electric devices. Tea, sugar and hot/cold drinking water was always available. Breakfast was very delicious every time. Beds were comfortable and clean. We got towel. There was really good company, we could socialize when we felt we want to. There was also proper space for this purpose. There is a big balcony with access to it from every room. The view from the balcony was authentic (mosque and mountains). Center, seaside, bus station, shops, exchange facility was only a few hundred meters from the hostel. I felt secure during my stay. As I stayed at this hostel I got lot of information on local habits, food, history.
