Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsDuring my stay in the middle of summer, the hotel was catering to mostly local guests. The menu for dinner and breakfast is also catering to local tastes. The hotel room was not cleaned, nor the beds made, during my stay of 5 days.
The hotel staff were very friendly and most spoke English. The pool area was beautifull and very clean. Towels were free. The pool area flowed into a playground followed by a private beach in a sheltered cove. Good place to relax.

SlovakiaThere are no sunbeds or umbrellas on the beach or by the pool. Check in was slow, the room was not ready despite the fact that there were about 5 guests in the hotel. The pool bar was not working in the hotel, the minimarket was closed. The reason was probably Ramadan, but they didn't have a problem with it in other hotels. Here they will let you die of thirst. Dinner only a la carte due to the small number of guests - we did not try it.
Hotel on the beach not far from the border with Saudi Arabia. The hotel has swimming pools and its own beach. The apartment was spacious and clean, beds was comfortable, the view from the terrace to the sea was beautiful. Wifi was OK. Children's playground with 10 swings and 10 slides, but without the possibility to buy children a drink!

JordanI have booked a room via booking.com, first of all some of the front line staff not smiling ☺️ at all, once we arrived we wait for 1.30 hrs to complete the check in, the breakfast options aren't enough and shall be more different dishes, the vent of the central AC was totally dirt and full of old dust, the first night and the second one passed without having the room service at my room, then I asked for the service three times till they come in the next day, the room it self was to small and especially the shower 🚿 area, finally the bed was broken from the upper left corner and was not fully comfortable.
The location, design of the hotel, flexibility of some of the staff.

GermanyWe discovered that this place caters to employees of a public security company - so the guests were all families. Not really suitable for western women who want to enjoy the sun by the pool. I know that we were in Jordan, a muslim country, but the pics of the hotel make it seem like you could be in a bathing suit and enjoy yourself - this is not really the case. While it may not be forbidden to be in a bikini, none of the women there were without hijab or burka, which meant that my friend and I simply didn't feel comfortable showing our bodies, especially in front of their husbands and children. Although the pictures show sunbeds by the pools these are not actually available - only if you go down by the beach but that is where huge gusts of wind are constantly blowing. The hotel is located on a point, pretty far away from Aqaba, where there is constant wind (in November). We made the best of it though and went down the road to the Tala Bay Resort to use the pools there. As far as our room goes, everything was fine except the fact that we rented a chalet with a kitchen - which was not modern and had lots of ants upon our arrival. The kitchen had NO cutlery, NO plates/bowls, and NO pots or pans. It was pretty useless. I can't imagine what a family would do if they planned on cooking meals. Oh...and they BLAST the loudest music from 10 am to 10 pm at the pool - it was deafening at times. Overall, I would not stay here again.
The hotel is immense, has very lovely grounds and pool areas, and the food from the restaurant is delicious (especially for the price) - the included breakfast was also pretty good. Our chalet was large, our beds were comfy and the balcony had the best view. The staff was kind and helpful. PRO TIP: The pools are NOT appropriate for western women (due to 99% of guests being "conservative") so, out of respect....I suggest driving down the road to Tala Bay Resort to use the pool at the beach club - it's free, has a great view, and is easy to access. The whole place is lovely to walk around, has a store where you can buy booze and snacks, and is much less windy. Just say you are going to the restaurants. ;)

Netherlands- We had booked a room with two beds. The bathroom door was broken. After some checks we got an urgent grade to a chalet. Which was super. - the whole day and evening there is loud music for entertainment at the pool.
It’s a beautiful place. The pool, private beaches, the pier to oversee the sea and the restaurant with very good food.

SwitzerlandThe cleanness of the kitchen and the bathroom has a high potential for an improvement.
Hotel located outside of Aqaba. The grounds are closed to the public and secure. There are nice swimming pools and private access to the sea. A reef is so close to the shore that our 6y.o could swim there with a bit of a support and enjoy looking at the fish. The whole complex is rather oriented towards local customer with European tourists being a minority. There is a restaurant in the complex. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The apartment was not so clean but well suited for a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids 6 and 10 y.o). No equipment is provided in the kitchen (only kettle).
