Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing at all to do with the accommodation itself, but FYI, the resort that the guesthouse is affiliated with (I think it was called the Dead Sea Spa Resort) is not worth visiting. We paid to go as we were keen to enter the Dead Sea (we had tried to enter at the free spot the previous day but were deterred due to the area being full of rubbish). Well, the area that the spa resort had for entry to the Dead Sea was also disgusting and full of rubbish, so save your time and money.
Alex was great and his food was delicious - would wholeheartedly recommend booking dinner. Although a little pricey, would recommend staying here over a resort. If you're looking to break up a drive from Amman to Petra / Wadi Rum, it is definitely worth staying here. The house is gorgeous and the views are beautiful.

United StatesWe loved everything about the property!
The property feels like a home away from home. The space is comfortable, clean, and beautiful. We happened to have the whole guesthouse to ourselves during our two nights stay. Alex, the Head Chef, welcomed us with a smile and a zen energy. The breakfast he made for us and the fruit he provided for the house were all fresh and delicious. We highly recommend staying here as an alternative to a large resort, if you are looking for charm and tranquility.

United KingdomThe beds were not really doubles, although were 2 in the room. It is situated with a couple of other villas on some scrub land, so the internal views are better than external.
This is a beautiful vila with a couple of pools and an attractive garden. House is very charmingly decorated and the rooms comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome and the food (breakfast and dinner) was exceptional. Just off the Dead Sea Highway, it is also very convenient for Madaba, Mt Nebo and the Airport etc. The pool with a serviced bar was very welcome.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing.
The Precious is an exceptional experience. The house is beautiful: tastefully furnished, smells lovely. Lots and lots of comfortable nooks inside and out to sit and let time go by - the stunning main atrium, the upstairs shared terrace, and around both pools. Kitchen area for guest use - you could cook for yourself, but honestly given how delicious the food is at Precious, we would recommend going for breakfast and dinner. The staff are wonderful and Alex looked after us so well. What was most important for me was the peace and privacy you have at Precious. A perfect place to relax amongst the dragonflies after a busy week visiting Jordan's amazing sights.

United KingdomCommunications could have been a bit more organised - for example we received the same stock message about booking breakfast and meals multiple times which caused us a bit of worry that our replies weren't being read, and on arrival we did find that messages hadn't been shared between the team about the food we had already pre ordered (by now, we'd pre ordered twice). It's not a criticism but we suggest people are aware of this when they book - the property vibe is to be left very much to your privacy and relaxation. The other side of this it that there are rarely any staff around, so for example when we wanted to buy an after dinner drink we hung round by the bar area for well over an hour but couldn't find anyone to ask. Because Alex is also the chef he's very busy in and out of the kitchen, we did have his mobile number but felt uncomfortable bothering him for every small request. They have a communal fridge freezer so bring some soft drinks with you.
Beautiful luxurious property with lovely outdoor space and very comfortable rooms. Stunning views and so many beautifully curated spaces available for lounging and swimming. Breakfast & dinners were delicious and they easily catered for us as vegetarians. We really appreciated the water and tea available.

It was super comfortable and the food was really good. We stayed here for a night after being in Wadi rum and Petra and it made perfect sense because finally we could relax for a bit in a super cozy environment. We would recommend booking dinner and breakfast here.

GeorgiaThe main minus isn't about the guesthouse. It seems like there is nothing to do nearby.
1. Extraordinary hosts. When you are there you understand that these guys are doing their job with love. So much respect for them. 2. The house is stylish, clean, and well-designed. A nice garden is also a plus. 3. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. 4. The room was clean, and beautiful, with cold water in the fridge and tea and coffee available. Overall I think this is the BEST place in this area. Yes, there are some big hotels, but I don't think they can't compete with this place, this is different.

United KingdomFor the cost, I expected higher standards. these were met by the food, but the basics of the property were not being taken care of. whilst I didn’t expect the room to be cleaned without asking, I did expect used glasses to be taken, the bin in the bathroom emptied and the bed made. One of the towels had two massive holes and should have been binned, not used. The pool was a little green, a window was cracked.
Alex who runs the property and is the chef is amazing, he made the stay.

AustraliaThat I'm not a millionaire and we couldn't stay longer. I literally cannot find anything else to critique, really it was perfect.
This is one of the best places I have ever stayed in. It is absolutely exceptional. From the moment you check in you feel like you are at home. The decoration and thought put into the design of each room is beautiful and there is a tranquility to the place that is hard to find elsewhere. Najwan and Alex were amazing hosts, they were attentive to our every need and were absolutely wonderful to chat to. There are multiple pools, lots of different places to sit and relax, numerous places to sunbake and read a book, and stunning views over the Dead Sea. As other reviews have mentioned, the food is phenomenal and so is the lemon mint. The bed was like being smothered in a cloud. It is a short walk down the hill to the public beach if you want a free dip - at Najwan's suggestion we went in the morning on a Saturday (9am) and we had the place to ourselves. Don't hesitate to book this. The photos don't do justice to the warmth, feeling, and beauty of this place.

United KingdomThe guesthouse is constantly being improved, so there were some bits (like lights in the bedroom) that weren't perfect when we were there. Similarly the door to the balcony isn't soundproof (there was a party in a hotel nearby when we stayed). And whilst breakfast was delicious and great value for money, we found the pre-paid dinner to be very overpriced. £36 per person for a shared falafel platter and a couple of dips and bread as a starter, whilst delicious and homemade, was a major disappointment for a place that we booked in part for the food. Especially in Jordan where falafel is equally delicious (and much, much cheaper) pretty much everywhere. The house does have an a la carte menu (through which our meal would have been cheaper) - we wish we had known about it before our booking so we could have ordered something else.
There aren't really any places like the Precious near the Dead Sea, it's a really unique and wonderful guesthouse. Alex is a fantastic host and cook (the breakfasts were especially good). He really made us feel welcome and went out of his way to make sure we were having a great stay. The balcony room is huge and good value for money for the area, with a modern bathroom and a giant and very comfortable bed, and the house feels like a luxury villa. The balcony was very welcome with incredible views out to sea, although we liked the area by the pool so much we spent most of our time in the garden with the other guests. The house doesn't have access to the sea, but they will arrange a trip to a nearby resort for a discounted fee, which was perfect for us.
