Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe cannot open the small window of the bath room, and no fan there. So the bath room was always very wet.
The room is big enough, and clean. We had the breakfast and dinner at the hotel, it was very nice and reasonable. There is the free shuttle bus service to Petra.

BangladeshThey said the bus will pick us from the Petra visitors centre at 4 pm. I called them at 3:45 and they said wait the driver will be there in 10 minutes. And when it was 4:15 I called them they said the bus will come at 5:00 pm. So we took the taxi to the hotel. But the staff was sorry and gave me free 0.50 JD woth of water bottle. The in the room the wifi was very poor and sometimes not available.
The room was clean. The bed was comfy.

United KingdomI chose the cheapest rooms so it could be due to that, the wifi didn't work in my room, only in the reception and the water took 5 minutes to get warm (not always hot) to have a shower. The rooms were sometimes cold but again I was in the cheapest dorm which was on the bottom (basement) floor. Additionally some of the locks on the toilet doors didn't work.
The staff are friendly and helped you out with any needs., They have good deals on excursions to Wadi rum and the place is about 20-25 mins walk to Petra. All the restaurants and stores are 10 mins walk and the place offers a fantastic dinner and breakfast service. The place overall was clean and the reception had a nice seating area where most people will come to and socialize and they also had an outside tent for chilling out.

HungaryIn hostel part the fridge did not work and full of ants, smelled disgusting. Description says there is a common kitchen, but it is the kitchen where they cook dinner, so did not liked us to cook there. For hot water you have to wait 5 min after opening the tap. In one bathroom light is off and water did not sink. Wifi is not available in the room, and there is only 1 outlet for 10 people! At 11 pm one of the staff kicked out the door, switched on the light and showed the room for a guest!? As sleeping in the hostel part we felt only tolerated person not guests. But it was the cheapest option in Petra, so it was very good for budget, but not so convenient.
We were in a hostel room, which is a good value for money, they provide free transfer to Petra. The buffet dinner is very delicious and worth the price!

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThe most expensive cloth washing i have ever done in my life, The more expensive than Continental in Zürich, I paid 13 euros to wash clothes at the hostel, and the washing wasn't the best, it was stained and smelled after washing. Next thing we were in a room with 3 beds and 1 electrical plug, so we had to charge phones, power bank, and everything on one plug, The bathroom had a funky smell all the time, no matter if you windowed it. When we arrived there were some stains on the toilet seat, and some other things in the room, We thought it could be more clean.
Amazing staff for sure, they drive you to Petra and pick you up, very helpful and assistants with almost everything, dinner and breakfast is definitely one of best options in Wadi Musa they offer, amazing buffet dinner with 10+ options , breakfast is similiar.
