Electricity was turned on at around 7pm and turned off around 10:30 pm so that's the time to charge phones etc and take a shower. Unfortunately our shower didn't really get warm enough, so we didn't take a shower for two nights. My friend was really cold in the room (there's no heating), but we requested an extra blanket so he was fine whilst in bed. Just make sure to wear enough clothing when going there in the colder winter months. The owner also brought us to see his goats and two dogs. We didn't like seeing the dogs cause the older dog looked really afraid and would cower when the owner got too close and the puppy dog was tied to a leash that was too tight around its neck. He must have had only about 10 meters of walking range. We know that animals aren't always regarded as pets, but it broke our hearts seeing them like that. At least the owner brought them leftover food so they were fed. The thing we regret is that we didn't inquire about prices of everything (we felt uncomfortable talking about prices too much in case it was considered disrespectful). We agreed on a price of the tour and assumed it included lunch, but this was not the case (although we saw similar tours online that offered the same itinerary for the same price that included lunch). We also got charged more for the room than what was advertised on Booking.com. When we left the owner strongly suggested we give Nasar a tip, which we did cause he really deserved it, but we didn't like the fact that we were told to do that.

It's a lovely guesthouse in the Wadi Rum dessert surrounded by sand and rocks and no other camps really close by. The owner picks you up from the visitor centre (it's about a 20 minutes drive) and he is also the one that drove and guided us on our day tour through the dessert. The tour was really nice and we got to see all the amazing sights and an amazing sun set to finish off the day. You are sort of in the middle of nowhere, so you eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner at the guesthouse. Breakfast and dinner were good, lunch a little on the light side. The star of the place however is Nasar who is very friendly, speaks English, is always there to help, and makes the place feel really cozy. The accomodation itself is a good size (both room and bathroom) and has a large window to see the dessert at all times. The bed was also comfortable.

Hear me out: book this for your best desert experience !!! Mr. Slamah exceeded all our expectations and he went above and beyond making sure that we've got all we needed at all times. I traveled together with 2 friends and we booked one room all 3 of us. When we arrived at the camp, given the fact that there were other free tents, Mr. Slamah offered us a second tent free of charge!!! He was very attentive and he made us feel like home the entire time and the best part is that he is an honest man and you can easily make friends with him as he is very easy going. I promise the rooms look better than the pictures presented here on booking and the whole camp is located deep in the desert and it is well maintained and looking good. The cleanliness is flawless! The food is all fresh and tasty! We fell in love with the hospitality of Mr. Slamah and with the camp and we will for sure return. Bonus: free tea, water, coffee, soda and if you love karaoke or dancing you can do that in the common room 😊

The host is very friendly and generous. They have food prepared for breakfast and dinner. They also offer all kinds of tours through Wadi Rum, so it's very convenient to book directly from the host instead of others. The host will wait for you at the Visitor's Center car park and will rake you and your luggage to the camp The tents are little houses, and mine had a bathroom. The facilities are basic, but useful. Please note that the location shown on Booking.com is incorrect. The camp is situated about 30 minutes away, in the Wadi Rum desert. Amazing surroundings and isolated from everything else. So there is no signal, no wifi, no hot water. A truly unique experience.

Only downside is no hot water for a shower, just cold. but that is to be expected when staying out in the desert so wasn’t an issue for us, just to note for other guests.

Qais Camp was in our opinion, amazing value for money. It was in an amazing location, far into the desert and away from others camps (unlike some others which are neighbouring). The rooms were beautiful, traditional and befitting the culture, set up perfectly for for a couple or more. Ensuite and beautiful bedroom window looking out into the desert with undisrupted view. There was no cellphone reception at the camp or in the desert which was a bonus for us, nice to relax off grid for a night and day. Our host was incredibly knowledgeable and took us to all the main sights within the desert and took lots of great photos for us. there is the option for a sunset, sunrise or day tours (you can combine all/any). We also had traditional music playing throughout dinner and dancing afterwards Traditional Jordanian Dinner and breakfast are provided and were amazing, so much food! Traditional tea, coffee and bottled water provided too! I would recommend this accomodation to everyone visiting Wadi Rum who is looking for a traditional, caring & exciting experience.

Mr.Salamah is a aperfect host. Always in a good mood and genuinly happy to be your host. We felt really welcome. The camp is in a perfect location, far away from other camps. Tents are spactious, clean and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were fresly cooked and delicious. We also took a 3h 4x4 tour, but mr.Salamah gave us 4h tour for the price. I would stay at Qais camp again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend you take the whole package with mr.Salamah.

    I loved everything!

Immediately book your stay at Qais Camp in Wadi Rum! Now I will tell you why: The owner Mr. Salmah is amazing host and true friend of many local people in Wadi Rum. You will get a chance to meet his friends, beduins and see how they live and enjoy life in Wadi Rum. He became also my friend during my 1 day and 1 night stay at his camp. He has great sense of humor, knows entire area and provides amazing experience in a jeep tour, as well as hanging out with his guests for the entire stay during the day and night. If you will have a chance to meet Mr. Salmah family, that will be just another great bonus to your visit to Wadi Rum. The camp is located in the desert, it is completely quiet and beautiful. The houses for guests are clean and spacious and they all have private bathroom which is very good. During the night, you can enjoy on the terrace of your house in the camp and watch the stars in complete silence and without interference of the lights like some other camps closer to the road. Mr. Salmah will get you all the water and drinks you will need, the food is local and delicius, He has capable jeeps and lots of experience with all kinds of adventures that you can take while staying in Qais camp. Go for it! Thank you my friend for making the visit to Wadi Rum one of my favorite moments in my life! Yalla yalla Salmah!!!

The owner came to pick us from bus, took us with the jeep to the camp with no extra cost, so don’t worry how you going to get to the camp. The tent is actually very good insulated and made of concrete so you won’t be extremely hot or cold. Regarding the food, was excellent!! Loads of food, all organic, water provided for free, tea free, coffee free all done with a lot of love. We also did the tour in the desert and was absolutely stunning, the best thing we did in Jordan counting that we visited Petra, Amman, Dead Sea, Aqaba. As a note for the tourists, don’t listen to taxi drivers or other hotels that will try to make you cancel your trip to do it “cheaper or better” because is a lie, they will just revive a bit of commission!

The owner was super sweet he picked us up at the visitor centre, prepared lovely dinner, gave us tea, cola, sprite and we chatted with him a bit about the culture. His English level is decent. In the morning we got breakfast and we went on a 5 hour jeep tour around Wádí rum than he drove us back to visitor centre. The accommodation is great for the money. You have your own shower and toilet.

Its very hard to find some negatives, but if I have to find some, strongest signal isnt right in a camp - simillar like at all around Wadi Rum, but cca 150m from a camp is working 4G signal

Clean big tent with comfortable beds, nice view all around, water also for shower and toilet, no snakes or scorpios, privacy, good customer services, food, nice prices
