How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

They do not cooperate with guest who book boat ride with other than hotel. They give punishment to the guest who book boat ride from other company by not allowing them to go from side gate and walk to the main gate which is very far.
Located just on lake Naivasha. Very big and nice property. Staff were helpful.

The 1st room we booked with ocean view wasn't ready for accomodation. Had a faulty tv, shower head wasn't up to standard and had two beds as opposed to the 1 i had specifically requested. They did move us to a better room though which improved the stay but no ocean view.

No direct access to Lake Naivasha. The receptionist kept talking in the phone with no attention to us. The window of the bathroom is open with zero possibilities to be closed that allow the mosquitoes to get in and myself and my family had horrible mosquito bites.

Breakfast was basic, I expected more.
The location was good, close to the road. I think the place has the potential to do so much more. I think for a quick run over a weekend to Naivasha, the place meets expectations. Price friendly for what you get.

Most things. The food was poor and overpriced. We had to go to other restaurants. They charged for tea because our room wasn't ready, even though it should have been. No-one ever had change so expected us to forget about it! One guy kept pestering us for tips.

The mattress was worn out and uneven. We woke up more tired than when we slept.

The room had no enough towels like hand and face towels, bath mats and robes but everything else was superb.
The staff was quite welcoming and helpful, the food was good from breakfast to dinner with a good range to choose from. Generally it was good value for money.

Would have been nice if it open it all the way to the lake for guests to walk and access lake activities directly from the resort.
Breakfast was good. I especially enjoy soup in the morning over coffee/tea. Consider keeping soups in the b/fast menu.

Leave a broom in each Cottage and a small fridge. The big winds drive sand under the door and across the porch and EVERYONE needs a place for drinks and snacks on hot days. C'mon now! Also, security searched our car upon entry and told us that because we had a bottle of wine with us we could not enter the grounds. This was absurd. We asked them to to get management on the phone and we were eventually allowed to take our room under promise to not bring the wine into the restaurant. The security staff were rather embarrassed that they were under directions the management were so clearly fuzzy on. We were one minute from turning around and finding another place to stay. See above comment on lack of coffee/cream at breakfast.
The Staff were very nice and very helpful. The location is great but it is sad to see the trees lost to the Lake's encroachment. The breakfast was very solid and enjoyable but real coffee is a must and nobody wants a cup of instant without even some cream or milk. Strategic coffee failure in every way... a serious own goal at a bad time. ;)

I didn't get my TV connection resolved for three nights. I on the first day and was promised that it would be addressed the following day and nothing happened. I missed watching World Cup matches due to an issue that ought to have been easily resolved

For safari guests, it might not be the perfect place. The packed lunch was not that good, and they forgot cutlery so we ate pasta in the national park with our fingers. The place seemed more fitted for conference guests. The restaurant was very large and not so cozy, and didn’t serve drinks beside water at meals.
The rooms were nice and clean. There were a little restaurant/bar which they opened for us after dinner, it was nice. The place felt safe and the staff was nice.
