Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Francecheap, in the center, hot water, good enough wifi, kind & accommodating staff, could pay by cards or cash. No mosquitoes net, no Aircon/fan (but temperature was ok), slightly noisy outside (upper floor might have weird church chant sometimes). given all the above : 8/10

KenyaThere were no lights in my toilet/shower ….staff are soooooooo loud and annoying early in the morning at 8 am they go round knocking doors and trying to forcibly open without even announcing that they are from housekeeping ..
👎🏿 I recommend your housekeeping team should come around 11am or 12pm for cleaning….they should knock and announce they are housekeepers then wait until the guests answers.🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️. The whole team requires training.

SwitzerlandI only stayed for one night so i arrived, checked in and without further checking the room i left again and came back at night. I had to find out that there was no running water in my room, the window was broken what caused me being in this room together with 20 mosquitos and somehow a truck decided to make a lot of noise (app measured consistsnt 70db in my room) until almost 12 pm which was very unfortunate because I had to get up early. Maybe i was just unlucky but i would neither recommend the location nor would i come back to the place.
It‘s easy to locate, easy check-in and check-out and the bed is comfortable.

UgandaWi-Fi too slow.
Location is in the center. I like that and I like that it has heated water. Clean sheets and everything. You also get some views of downtown, meaning that its well-lit and aerated.

KenyaStepping into the hotel lobby, which one has to pass through the hotel bar to access, i was met with some rowdy obviously drunk sets of couples openly cuddling in improperly suggestive manners. The kinds of skimpy outfits some ladies were in made me feel like I had walked into a twilight hotel. The corridors leading to the rooms are littered with heaps of garbage at corners, even at one heap used condoms were visible. Definitely not a place to visit with family. Totally no. And even without a family, a place to think about twice before visiting.
The size of the room. Large enough. Value for money based in size alone. The rooms are clean, beds and linen look and feel clean. Bathroom is large with non slippery traditional terrazzo floor. WiFi is strong enough. A selection of foods available in house on order.

United StatesI was supposed to stay two weeks but I left a week early. I booked the room to have a place to get some work done and rest. The first night, I was in a room without running water, so the second day, they moved me to the third floor. The first couple of days were fine. The internet doesn't work well, so I had to buy more cell data, but otherwise, it was good. Friday night, there was really loud music coming from the floor above me. I went downstairs to ask the staff about it at around 11 pm because I was trying to sleep. I found out they had rented the top floor to a church, and according to the renters, they had been told they could play at night. The music continued until after 2 a.m., very loud in my room with sometimes loud stomping as if someone was keeping the tempo of the music above where I was trying to sleep. I was told that it was only on Friday nights and wouldn't be an issue at night again. Saturday night, the same thing except they stopped a little earlier. Then the band got started again, full volume before sunrise Sunday morning. After another night with very little sleep, I decided to leave early. I requested a refund for the remaining nights on my stay and the two nights I was up a lot of the night due to the band they allowed to practice at night. I waited to speak with the manager. After a discussion, he agreed to give me a refund for the remaining days but did not feel it was appropriate to refund me for the two nights of noise. The only reason I stayed after the first night was because I was assured they only practice at night on Fridays. He offered to allow me to move to their sister hotel at the same rate, but by that point, I did not want to try it out further. It's one thing if there's uncontrollable noise from the street but renting out rooms to guests for sleeping and to other customers for night band practice in the same space is unacceptable in my mind if you don't notify the hotel guests ahead of time.
The staff at the front desk and restraunt were very nice. It is affordable and close to the city center.
