Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWell I didn't like the buffets good quality but when its raining and you can't get out, you end up with three buffets. I'm good with one per day. Or even two including breakfast. But three? Far too much. When conferences are taking place I would avoid it, as no a la carte, especially when it's monsoon season which is a new thing. You will struggle getting ubers or taxis. There is a tunnel right when exiting the hotel, you need a 4x4 for it.
Very decent. Constant buffets are annoying. No A la carte when some sort of conference is going on. Also lots of high profile politicians that talk to you and then make you cover for their bill. So be warned.

United StatesWe did not have hot water three of the four nights we stayed. Our room did not look like it was used on awhile and was not that clean. This was not a big deal to us, but make sure when you book tours or rides from the hotel, they completely understand what you were asking for. We paid way too much money for a driving tour of Nairobi when we thought we were paying for a walking tour and paying to enter art galleries, observation towers, etc but all we got was a drive by . . . And it was expensive. All in all, however, it was a great stay with the exception of the miscommunication.
The hotel was beautiful. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. It is directly across from Nairobi National Park so you can see animals from your room. The balconies and music in the evening was wonderful.

SwedenReally expensive for the overall product. Not really value for money. Cocktails were expensive but among the worst we have had, which shocked us as it is such an exclusive hotel and bar. Service was really slow at times and it was as if everything was a hassle for the staff. When we asked for pool towels they proceeded to say the pool was closed mid-day as they couldn’t bother bringing the towels. However, one staff member warmed up and was really helpful. But they always had to ask someone if the items on the menu could be made, we could not put the bill on our room etc. We felt like we bothered them all the time. Overpriced dinner buffet.
Nice rooms and the roof top pool with sunbeds. Loved the view of the national park!

NorwayThe biggest issue is related to information. It becomes those small things that add up. The on screen information and info given from Booking.com is partially outdated / incorrect and also not too easy to access. Example: it states to have a minibar replenished daily, which turns out to be an empty fridge, so you have to order on room service and stack up and planning future use. There were no complete menu on the room sl I had to go to the restaurant to obtain a QR code. The park view is AMAZING but there is a somewhat noisy highway just below which is noticeable especially for breakfast. To enter gym/spa you have to go to the other Ole-Sereni..it is not far but it forces you through two receptions and restaurant area. One does not feel comfortable walking there post spa session. On arrival day the Sky lounge was closed due to a private event, totally unannounced. The Oasis bar turned out to be not open outside special occations, despite marketed pictures. So I was left with a buffet restaurant, or order room service for a la carte.
I absolutely reccomend this place, key word being view, location, standard. The hotel has a superb location, the rooms are spacious and well decorated, with a very nice bathroom that gives a lux feeling and a super balcony on my room type. The park view is impeccableAll services are available and delivered perfect. Room sevice is quick, reception ans staff are super friendly and very helpful.Food, both breakfast and roof top restaurant is very very good, as well as a great drink selection.

United KingdomThe staff didn’t seem to know about the airport lounge access offer and I had to show them on the web page. Also tried to book a full day safari which differs from the usual half day one. This seemed to confuse the staff but did get a call later in the day to confirm the booking.
Great location overlooking the park. Could see antelope and zebra from my bedroom. Great rooms and bars. Recommend the pizza in the old part of the hotel.
