Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaNothing. Everything was great.
Hob House was charming. The house itself is tastefully decorated with beautiful African art. Our room was very clean. Also the ensuite bathroom which had excellent water pressure and.consistent hot water. There was a balcony off our room. It was shared with the adjacent room but we had it to ourselves and it overlooked the garden. The restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of room. The English and Lebanese breakfasts were both delicious as were the Lebanese suppers. The waiters were able to explain the various dishes and the service was excellent. We were able to bring our own wine to the table and there was no corking fee. The gardens were lovely. A number of different brightly coloured trees were in bloom and there were many exotic flowers. Lots of spots to sit and enjoy the garden, observe the various bird and also smoothies, tea and cafe mocha. Luckily there was little humidity, sunny skies and soft breezes. The staff was friendly and helpful. The business manager Sheila promptly responded to emails before our arrival, advised us we could have a better room than the one we had booked, at the same price. And arranged for Charles to pick us up at the airport and to return us to the airport. This was a good idea as it was dark on both occasions and Hob House is on a back road on the western edge of the city and could be difficult for some drivers to find. We were able to leave our large suitcases at HH while we enjoyed a six day safari. When we arrived back on our last day to pick up our luggage and have a final supper before a late night flight Sheila provided us with a ground floor room with a bed and a bathroom with a shower to rest, freshen up and organize ourselves for the trip home. What more can I say. Fantastic experience in every way.

FranceIf we have to mention something : My husband found the bed too soft to his taste (habibi room) and I couldn't get hot water at night (assume it is solar-panel heating).
We basically loved everything about Hob House and cannot wait to find an opportunity to go back :) Environment, decoration / equipment and comfort of the House and rooms, Welcoming and professional staff, cuisine, garden, shop... They even helped me to store some items in the fridge and freezer to bring back home the day after. Asante sana!

SwitzerlandThe bathroom felt slightly small for someone as tall as me (200 cm/6'6").
Kelly and her team are amazing. They made us feel genuinely welcome and were super friendly. The garden is beautiful - a true oasis - and the food is just delicious. Special thanks to Noemi and Anne.

CameroonThe noise from the eating area reaches the bedroom and can sometimes be inconvenient if you are having a meeting or trying to focus on some work. One smelly face towel but the big one was clean and not smelly.
The house itself is so homely and the bed extremely comfortable. The state of the art decorations and extra information even on the placemats are all great. Hearing the kitchen staff in a good mood and speaking casually to each other jokingly or with warmth was appreciatively welcome. Helpful and dedicated staff - Sheila, Francis and Naomie are just some of those special people who help and assist without fail.

AustraliaWe had no hot water in our room and had to use another room for a shower. The bedroom and bathroom was small. People were sitting outside our room talking loudly for over an hour disturbing us.

AustraliaNothing - everything was perfect!
A home away from home with well-sized rooms and comfy beds. The whole property is beautifully decorated with lots of thoughtful touches. The garden is a lovely and relaxing oasis of flowers and plants, and the on-site Lebanese restaurant was delicious! We also loved the little shop that sells items made by local artists and artisans. Our only regret is that we didn’t have a longer stay!

United KingdomThe only downside of the B&B is if the restaurant downstairs have talkative guests, you'll be able to hear the chat in your room. So if you are a super early sleeper, that can be a bit of an issue. But the restaurant is very small and local. So it won't go too late. So it won't be a problem to your sleep overnight at all. Be aware the B&B is is a calm area on the kind of outskirts of Nairobi. So it is not that you'll leave the b&B walking to see around. You'll need a taxi to go down to town.
The Hob House is an extremely charming B&B. The atmosphere fells as if you were at a beautiful home. There is a lounge, with comfy sofa to watch TV, and books all around. It was very sweet to find complimentary oranges and milk in the room. My room had a varanda where I could sit and relax, looking at the garden. It is shared with the neighbours, so be aware. The garden is a must! A large green space, where you can be served breakfast with birds around. It is just fantastic! The B&B has also a restaurant which is open to the public, where they serve delicious Middle Eastern food.

Rare boutique style guest house in Nairobi on quiet street and neighbourhood. Excellent breakfast if we exclude the final day of our stay. Maybe the cook was off as it wasn’t up to par with the other days. Very good Lebanese restaurant on site. Lovely staff.
