Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandWhile I loved staying here, I can see how others might be less comfortable. The facilities are not Western /European standard but are very clean, functional, and secure.
This is a great place to stay in Nairobi. Juddy is an absolute gem and really looks after you. This is very much a guest house vibe so expect to stay in a Kenyan home, not a b'n'b. The highlight really is Juddy herself who is so kind, helpful and welcoming. This felt like a more authentic stay experience which I would highly recommend.

CanadaFor someone looking to stay right in the Center of the city, this may not be for you. it will be about a 20-30 minutes bolt/Uber ride to get to parklands/westlands area. Only other thing I could recommend would be a fan for the room :).
Juddy was an amazing host and made us feel very comfortable and safe in her home. She is very friendly, and helped us navigate our way in Nairobi. She even came with us to the Maasai market & showed us some shops nearby to make sure we compared prices and not overpay. Juddy truly felt like a host mom! Would highly recommend. Our bedroom has its own key we could lock, and the shower was hot. Instant coffee and some breads were provided in the morning as well.

GermanyIt was amazing to stay at Juddys place. We felt home the moment we entered her house. She prepared delicious dinner from her garden for us and we enjoyed drinking Kenyan tea together. The house is in a gated area close to local food stalls and several supermarkets. There are matatus nearby that take about 20-30 minutes to the city center. Looking very much forward to stay with Juddy again in December.

United StatesJuddy is the kindest, most welcoming host I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. As newcomers to Nairobi, my friend and I were a bit nervous especially after reading about safety concerns online and having everyone in the US warn us. However, Juddy encouraged us to take matatus, told us exactly which ones to take and where to find them, and what rates to expect. She also told us what prices to expect for fruits and other goods, which is really valuable for bartering down the mzungu prices. Without her, we wouldn’t have been able to fully experience Nairobi. The house is in a guarded compound within a safe middle class area of town. The rooms are spacious and clean.

United KingdomReally minor improvements perhaps? It’s an amazing homestay really. - Would be nice to have some screens for the window, so you can get the wind in without mosquitos :) - Was a bit hard to find a nice temperature of the shower, between super hot and cold.
- As others suggested Juddy is a very sweet lady. She’s caring and joyful. I was taken really good care of. Had enough privacy of my own too which I appreciated. - Cozy homy room. Very spacious. Comfortable bed. - Finally goood wifi! Unlimited and fast! - Really liked the seating area before the living room. The breeze is so nice. - Stay for a few days and my sheets and towel were changed in between. - Was invited to eat with the host :) She makes amazing ugali and other dishes. - Didn’t really mind the location, it’s very local. There’s a direct bus to city center, about 20-30min. Got a little lazy in the end so I end up taking quite some Uber though hhh. - Juddy was very flexible with everything. Will miss her!

ItalySlightly hard to locate the entrance to the compound. Ask Juddy the number of her house to say at the entrance.
Juddy is extremely available and place is good value for money. As from the name, you’re staying at Juddy’s place so it feels like a shared Airbnb with a local :)

TanzaniaThe host was super-helpful! She makes sure you're safe and you get the maximum experience in Kenya. She taught me the way around the Nairobi city and what to look out for, and also introduced me to a good tour company and souvenir shop. The location is a little bit far from the city center, but you can get there easily by Uber or Matatu (local bus). I'd love to come back here again.
