How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

My only suggestion would be to improve the cleanliness of the gym equipment
The rooms are very comfortable and the personnel are always willing to help you. It is the third time I stay with them and I’m always happy

The gym could be a bit more well-maintained, though it was the best hotel gym I had been to in a while. There were weights everywhere, and no towels were available.
A very good spread was laid out in the morning. There was something for everyone as it had a nice mix of Kenyan delights alongside elements of a conventional breakfast.

The location. The mosque next door had morning prayers which woke me up early. I was unaware it was there when booking. On my second booking my room was facing the main road which slightly helped. Besides that I would HEAVLY recommend the owners invest in changing the stair rails. By international standards they feel too short and can be a danger especially if you’re travelling with children. I was leaning on them waiting for the lift and the spotted the issue. Secondly the bathroom design is bad. When you shower the entire floor floods. There is a small drain next to the toilet but isn’t the point to contain the water in one place ? Also from a price point the location does feel abit over priced, however this is personal opinion. For a location like that I would expect to pay less
Your staff was very polite and welcoming and one thing I liked is that they don’t beg for tips like other places I’ve stayed. Big thank you to Joy and other ladies at reception for assisting with my queries. Kelvin too. The rooms were very nice. Comfortable bed and with AC. Great views of Nairobi in the evening. Decent food . Overall I would stay again.

Went to Fez (on-site) restaurant for dinner. Dinner was adequate but not a dining experience; service was slow and lots of staff standing and chatting to each other. Need to mention that hotel is situated opposite a mosque and the restaurant serves halal. They do not serve alcohol in the hotel, not a major issue for us but maybe for some other guests.
Clean comfortable rooms. Security staff were very helpful in flagging down taxis. Excellent and well equipped bathrooms; good shower pressure. Great location; 15 minute Uber ride to Westlands where there are lots of great bars and restaurants.

The breakfast was horrible. They put the food outdoor while the windows are opened and because of this the food is under the direct strong sun and a lot of strange insects are everywhere. You can find the insects on the fruits and around you. I draw thier attention but they didn't change anything.
The location is good. It is on the front of a very nice and clean Masjed. The location is very close from the down town.

The bed was a bit too hard and so were the pillows. Service in the restaurant at lunch was so slow that my friend had finished his food while mine had still not arrived, and I therefore cancelled the order.
Nice staff, clean spacious rooms. Fairly quiet area with a few restaurants not too far away.

On our final night we ate in the restaurant…unfortunately we felt a bit rushed out as although it’s open to order food until 9.30pm (we arrived around 8.50) by 9.45 we were told they were closed and they started clearing even though we hadn’t finished our drinks and barely just finished our food. In addition, I’d eaten half my meal before the other meal came out. It was a shame as everything else had been really good.
Stayed for 9 nights, was a good stay. Lovely spacious room, everything was clean and the hotel overall was very nice. The breakfast was good and the location was perfect for us.
