Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThat we couldn't stay more.
We stayed 3 nights in the camp and we loved it. The place is surrounded by beautiful nature, it clean and offers simple, but delicious food. Everyone was very friendly to us and we got to learn a little bit about the Maasai culture. We hope to return and try some of the activities.

United KingdomThe road to the property is rough. Not suitable for non 4x4s, although two minibuses did manage to negotiate it so not impossible if one takes care. The property doesn't take credit cards so ensure you have cash.
This was an emergency stay for us because our vehicle broke down nearby so we missed the closing time for the gates to the Masai Mara. The lodge staff whipped up a delicious dinner for us specially, at way past dinner time. Breakfast was rudimentary but adequate. The property is an eco-camp run by the local Masai community. If you want haute cuisine, stay at a luxury hotel (and pay a lot more.) The Masai people running the camp could not have been more friendly and the views out over the plains are spectacular. The tents are rudimentary but clean and comfortable.

GermanyFrom arrival to departure we felt very much welcomed by the lovely and warm team of Maji Moto. We enjoyed the walks, tents, setup of the camp, the open air showers with the hot water sourced directly from the well and the conversations with the team around James, Sam and Ben! Huge thanks and ache ole to all 11 for exchanging on live and nature while walking, sitting around the fire, watching the birds and at the look-out terrace during our three days and nights in Maji Moto.

United Arab EmiratesThe camp is run by masai staff who welcomed us and walked with us to teach us about the traditions. In the evening we enjoyed our stay with the masai staff who danced and showed us how to make fire.

United KingdomI’m still in touch with the Maasai guys at MajiMoto, Ben, Sam, Hilary and James, way after leaving the camp. That’s what happens there. You learn the intricacies of Maasai life, the ways and customs, but moreover the people. The way there are, think and act. I think there one of the finest, balanced, genuine, interesting and interested people on earth. So much to willingly give and the camp plays a perfect host to this.

GermanyNichts!!!
Staying in the Camp was one of the best experiences in Kenya. We stayed there only for one night, but we learnt so much about Massai and felt extremely welcome. The staff showed us there world and guided us, so that we felt part of their home during a bush walk. We learnt the meaning of some of their dances and were shown the fire making without lighter. The food was good and original, but don’t expect a 5 course meal. It was simply good! For us as it was a must have while around the Mara.

France-very very expensive for what it is: sleeping in a tent for 180$ with no real toilet and shower is crazy. the food was ok but really overpriced too -the location is not great if you want to explore Masai Mara 60km from park entrance, or 1 hour way in way jack
-very nice talk with the Masai personnel -good view -traditional and ecological place
