Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful The tents and facilities were very good and it's location on the Tsavo East perimeter was great, allowing game viewing from your veranda while sitting in you private dip pool.

MalawiWe had a few baboon invasions - staff were quick to come help with slingshots! But little to be done apart from not leave doors open!
The staff were amazing - Abu on reception was so friendly and attentive, he really made the trip extra special. The guys behind the bar were brilliant too - very friendly, chatty and helpful. The service was excellent and makes all the difference. The room was perfect - views out over the park right beside a private plunge pool and felt private even despite being close to the reception area. You could see animals, elephants and a huge herd of buffalo passed right by the rooms and the main bar area - incredible experience. The food was good. We arranged massages and drives and nothing was too much of a problem. It was such a relaxing stay. We went across to Voi to watch animals at the waterhole also which was great and just a couple of minutes walk down the path. I will definitely be back and would recommend Manyatta for sure!

NetherlandsMaybe the management should spend a little money to replace the toilet flushing mechanism. The technical lifetime expired already some time ago..
The hospitality of the staff is outstanding. The view from our tent is incredible; elephants walk by while you sit on your private terrace or have dinner at the restaurant. Good bed, clean swimming pool, very nice room. Good food.

PortugalThis lodge is the smaller ‘sister’ to Voi Wildlife Lodge, and is a more intimate rustic lodge. We loved it! The private pools off each room are a winner. Imagine cooling off in your pristine private infinity pool while watching wildlife go by- including elephants. The gardens are beautiful, the staff professional and friendly, and the location superb for being just outside the fence of the largest park in Kenya. The food exceeded our expectations with a delicious and different set of dishes for every buffet meal. Compliments to the chef! The rooms are rustic, but fully furnished with mosquito nets, fans and efficient showers. The pool and pool deck are what make the rooms special. We were extremely comfortable, even in the heat of April. The SGR train station is only 10 minutes by car, making this a wonderful stopping off point on the Nairobi- Mombasa train line.

NetherlandsThe food could be slightly better, but for the price we paid,we couldnt really expect better. Ideally there should be a no music policy after 22:00 since some people come there to watch animals, and when your neighbour has a party with loud music it could make the wild experience a bit bad.
Great and friendly service Perfect location to see wild animals from the comfort of your pool Great price value Loved the receptionists and security guard at the entrance.

Saudi ArabiaWe did not like having to pay for water. In full-board we expected water to be complimentary. There is no where near to buy water, so you are trapped to buy it from the restaurant. The water isn't too expensive but, on principle, we were not happy about this. Also, our room did not have a view that was as good as the rooms on the other side - I don't know how they decide who goes in each room?
The location and views of the animals from the restaurant were incredible. We couldn't believe the animals we saw just walking by as we sat ate. Being so close to the Game Park entrance is also a bonus. Some of the rooms have amazing views as well. We liked the endless coffees and the staff are really helpful and kind. The plunge pool with the rooms are brilliant for kids, and the rooms are great size.

United KingdomWater in room provided but couldn’t open the water though as no bottle opener in the room. Would have used the key but then would have been dark as lights go off as soon as it’s pulled out. Couldn’t fault anything else.
Where do I start! The views are amazing, rooms clean with tea, coffee, water and toiletries. staff are friendly and efficient. Given your in Individual bungalows they some how manage to make it feel like home. Very welcoming, efficient and polite staff. it gives an experience like no other with animals walking past your room and the restaurant whilst your eating your dinner. The sound of lions and elephants in the far and cutest monkeys walking along your path to and from your accommodation. Normally with this inclusive food it’s not that nice but the food was very tasty and had many options. I don’t like to go to the same place twice but I will most definitely be back with the family.

sometimes you come across a gem. it's three star and that's what it is. but the location for me was beyond perfect. I went after a week's hard charity work to rest but also to see my orphan at the David Sheldrick Voi Reintegration unit. sitting relaxing all day watching elephant and many other species coming to drink at the waterhole was bliss. the hotel is right next to the park as was my tent. the small exclusive infinity pool in front of the tent was the cherry on the cake. The DSWT unit is less than 15 minutes drive away so the venue is perfect for that too. I will go back!
