The private beach had a lot of seaweed, but I think this really depends on the season. Luckily there was also a lovely pool that helped cool us down in the tropical heat.

Breakfast was good: no buffet but a menu from which different sweet and savory breakfast meals could be selected, including a fresh fruit platter. The airconditioned room was a very pleasant break from the warm temperatures outside.

Apart from the flies nothing at all.

We loved everything about it, especially the focaccia could not get enough. The ambiance was warm and homely, our sea view from our room was so relaxing, the food was always fresh and the people too. The hostess was a gem. We would return over and over again. Access to the little town was quite easy from the location. The beach access was just private enough to be special. Many thanks to the entire team for the warmth and hospitality

As I was working remotely, I would have liked the ability to plug in my laptop near the tables with the view of the sea!

The view from the hotel is incredible, the food was delicious (breakfast suggestions and general menu). The staff were great! And it's nice to have a pool which is long enough to have a proper swim. Love the big beds with the view of the sea.

Tried to booka week for NYE 24/NY25... they are full... which is no surprise at all. No negative feedback at all

Communication pre trip with Gisella who was amazing even when we arrived. We paid a very small $ to upgrade to Ocean view !!! jaw dropping balcony view. The hotel is owned and ran by Italians who also manage the restaurant which was top notch in value and quality, we had 1 evening meal and 3 lunches. Room were big and spacious with gd aircon, ceiling fan and awesome shower... oh forgot to say the bed was HUGE! plus they turn your room down and you get bottled water daily. Well done you guys it is full marks from me!

Excellent short stay.. I was there off-season for 3 days for a solo R&R. The hotel is small but cozy with delicious restaurant, beautiful and spacious room, friendly and attentive service. Was perfect for solo respite.

The rooms are thoughtfully designed, with very comfortable beds (I particularly liked the fact that the mosquito net included the bedside tables!). All the staff, including Gisella the manager, were friendly and helpful. The pool area, outside restaurant and daybeds are all actually more beautiful in real life than they appear on the Visiwa website/photos. It was very easy to travel to other restaurants/beaches in Watamu from the hotel, either via the beach, or you can take tuk tuks from the road near the hotel. There is also a small supermarket near the hotel, so you can stock up on snacks (small fridge in each room). We ate several meals at the hotel, food was excellent.

Beautiful architecture, minimalism modern Swahili vibes. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well furnished. The beds though, felt stiff but the sheets were clean.Housekeeping made sure the towels and sheets were clean. Gorgeous art pieces exhibitions around the property. The pool was fascinating in form and kept quite clean, it’s a pity we couldn’t use it after 5:30pm but we understood it was for cleaning purposes. Great view of the ocean, with close proximity to nearby small islands . We enjoyed several adventures through the ocean to the islands by foot when the tide was low (turtle island and love island). The air conditioner and fan worked well. We didn’t test the Wi-Fi because we barely had time to go online, but there was a router in the room. The showers were great with good pressure. We were pleased to find a bidet toilet shower and and bidet bowl next to it. Being Gluten free in my diet I was quite pleased that there was a variety of foods to choose from for breakfast (we had a bed and breakfast package) We didn’t try the food menu because we preferred to wander out into the nearby town to discover new foods. The hotel manager was very friendly and was always there to welcome guests and find out how they were doing. The general staff were very polite and the bar tender was a star ( try the cocktails, they are great). Transport was easily available anytime of the night (motorbikes). It felt very safe and we could walk late at night in and out of the hotel to the road, then take a two minute motorbike to the town to discover local restaurants. Night time is beautiful and you can sit on the beach beds and enjoy drinks till late as the Maasai guards patrol the compound. It’s definitely an ideal hotel for a romantic couple getaway. I highly recommend it for couples looking for fun, ambience and quality
