"I had the most incredible time at this amazing place, all thanks to the wonderful hosts Harrison, Philip, Yaa, and Safari! They took me on an unforgettable adventure along the creek, where we sailed to the beautiful Green Island. Exploring the different types of mangrove trees was fascinating—I never knew much about them, despite being from East Africa! As the sun set, we enjoyed a delicious dinner of Stingray fish and savored the tranquility of the night. While it did get a bit warm without electricity for fans, they provided solar chargers, ensuring we could keep our phones powered. It was a truly magical experience that I'll cherish forever!"

    - The heat was very intense, this is nothing to do Specially with the facilities but it was necessary to sleep with open door!

    - Being surrounded by nature. Loved that I could walk in 5min to a open-ir dining area with views to the creek. - The family that runs the place are very kind and helpful. They helped us buying water and made a special birthday cake for my husband! - The fact they were not trying to "sell" things, just made us welcome. We felt at home

The weather was exceptionally hot and there is no fan. But you can choose to sleep in the hammock with mosquito net to enjoy some breeze at night. If you're not good with the heat, the climate during the summer months of Dec-Jan is something to take into account. The location is a (motor)drive away from Watamu city center and from the estuary where the river enters the sea.

The food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) was fantastic, the staff and their family were very kind, flexible and helpful. It is a real nature / mostly off-grid experience. It was a very relaxing place to be. The tour around the mangrove and on the creek was very informative.

It is not so close to the city or the beach Watamu, paying taxi is expensive for everyday ride if you go.

Friendly host and for additional tour (guide Daniel) very good people, knowledgeable. Peaceful place, clean, you have everything basic you need (private bathroom) + very delicious breakfast.

I was fine with it but you should take into account that there is no electricity or light in the treehouse. Do not expect to find a snack bar or a restaurant nearby🙂 but when asked Harrison and his family will cook you dinner and it will be the best meal you had so far in Kenya🥰 Loved everythubg about it!

Harrison is an amazing host and the place is really nice! It is a perfect place to chill after traveling. The treehouse is like something from your childhood dream! Would defenetly stay there again

I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE! It was exactly as advertised; An Eco friendly, back to the basics, relaxing place. This is where you go to get away from everything and just clear your mind and refresh yourself. Great swahili breakfast is provided . They can make dinner on request . I had freshly caught grilled fish and my friend had, squid. Freshly caught of course. They provide eco friendly super affordable tours and also they welcome you to their family . Cooking classes are available as well. 😋 Watamu and Gede are very close by .

This place is very basic but it has a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed very much sleeping in the tree house, even with the outdoor toilet and shower :) Apart from the huge local breakfast, we had a chance to try freshly roasted cashew nuts and even to see the whole roasting process on the open fire. We also took a boat trip to the mangroves and motorbike trip to see the elephants coming from the forest to drink. Were very lucky to see 3 big herds taking turns at the water hole. The owner, Harrison, is a very nice person, I wish you and your family all the best, hope you will be able to keep improving the place as you like. Thank you!

The experience was absolutely incredible, and so unique. You really are immersed into nature, and everything is so authentic. Harrison, the host, is such a kind, attentive and overall fantastic host. He was so generous in showing us things (how to prepare cashew nuts from the fruit!) and flexible in making arrangements (staying after check-out time, choosing which room we wanted to stay in, sharing a dinner portion between two people, picking us up from the main road late at night). The camp itself is as advertised -- back to basics, which means that some things like the shower up in the tree house wasn't the best for the first day, lots of mosquitoes and bugs (though most beds have a mosquito net) and no internet. However, this all pales in comparison to how relaxing and transformative the rest of the experience is. We went on a creek tour with Daniel who was also a fabulous guide and showed us so much about the mangroves, the fishing culture and all the birds (including flamingoes!). If you have any doubt at all about staying here, don't, because you will have an experience you won't regret!

A rare rural retreat from the hassle of being a tourist! The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive, the food was excellent and plentiful,, quiet and close to the forest and the creek. Basic but all you need to relax and be with nature. I loved the evening fires and the roof top views. A motorbike was on hand for any trips you may want, such as to see the local elephants have an evening drink.
