Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaAbsolutely nothing!
We absolutely loved our stay at Ololo. The Staff are amazing, so helpful and always on hand! Ololo is family run (special mention to Fred the family dog) so you feel like you’re really part of the group! The game drives are brilliant and led by very knowledgeable guides, we managed to see 4 of the big 5 in just a couple of days! The food is fantastic, brilliant portion sizes and all home made. We also visited the farm at the back of the property and it was great to see first-hand how Ololo is virtually self sustainable. Our room was so cosy and we even had monkeys playing outside our window most afternoons. We can’t wait to come back soon! HIGHLY recommend.

The lodge was absolutely gorgeous! The staff were amazing, went over and above. Lovely turn down service in the evening and the game drives were great! Lovely small pool and outdoor sitting area. Food was outstanding! Best I had the whole time in Africa. Cute little monkeys come to the property morning and evening. Can see giraffes, rhinos etc from the garden when having lunch. Truely amazing experience.

Ololo is everything a traveler to Nairobi could hope for: an authentic stone farmhouse transformed into a lovely safari lodge within the Nairobi National Park that offers first class lodging and gourmet dining, a garden swimming pool, attentive staff, twice daily game drives into the Park and excursions to local attractions on request. All this is located just minutes from downtown Nairobi.

This is a beyond amazing place not only to stay but also experience a sustainable farming and ecosystem life. The owner Joanna and her family did an amazing job, to create such a beautiful place. Very child and family friendly for safaris, meals were fabulous, lots of things for children to enjoy. Cannot recommend enough, as we saw almost all animals you would spot in wildlife safaris. The only downside people should know is the airplanes passing over to Nairobi airport and it can be very loud at night, but second jight you dint hear them much :) and they provide earplugs. Photos are as they are seen and even more beautiful, rooms and style is amazing. We loved it and hopefully will be back one day.

United KingdomIt's hard to think of anything I didn't like. It was genuinely a very positive experience. Some of the other guests were a bit noisy but that's not the fault of the lodge.
Ololo Safari Lodge is a wonderful experience and a great place to base your safari experience from. The food was fabulous and the staff are so attentive and helpful. They take great care of you and they have thought of everything. A wonderful place to stay and a great location.

United StatesOur stay at Ololo was the perfect start to our vacation. The staff was incredible and went out of their way to make the experience fantastic. The game drives were so special! And of course the food from their organic farm exceeded my expectations. It was so wonderful to have choices for every meal and they were all incredible. We loved the views from the lodge and the drives in the park were some of the best I ever experienced because it is a small park you are able to see so many animals, very closely and in a short amount of time. Truly an amazing and special place!

United KingdomA slight annoyance is that the lodge is under the airport flight path but it was not a problem to us and did not detract from our enjoyment this wonderful property.
Outstanding location within Nairobi National Park and much better than we ever expected. Rooms very clean and were serviced twice a day. The all inclusive board was wonderful. Much of the produce is grown on the adjacent Ololo Farm. All the staff were exceptional and went that extra mile. The twice daily safari drives which were included were fantastic and the photographs taken will be a lasting memory of our visit.

United StatesOnly down side way that being close to the airport a blessing and a curse. It’s easy to get to but you do sometimes have planes fly over. We didn’t find this ruin our stay though.
The property is beautiful and set in the Nairobi National Park. The food was delicious, the staff were amazing and attentive. Especially James, George and Joy who makes amazing Dawa’s. The owner is very friendly and makes a point to get to know you.For Christmas they had a lovely meal and all the guest join together. I think it really says something about the place if the locals choose this place again and again to stay. We had an amazing time

There is something truly special about Ololo Lodge. The setting, the food and accommodation all exceeded expectations. I loved seeing the farm and of course going for daily game drives to spot animals. As a female solo traveller, I felt so welcomed by staff, guides and family who own the lodge, as well as getting to know other guests on game drives. Can’t wait to visit again.

United StatesEverything was INCREDIBLE! Ololo Lodge exceeded my expectations and I will 100% be back. It's perfect for all types of travelers (solo, groups, couples, families, etc) and they have something for everyone. As a solo traveler, they made it easy for me to meet others without it feeling forced or awkward and I'm thankful to have met new lifelong friends during my stay! The entire staff at Ololo is wonderful - so welcoming, so kind, and so accommodating and they all were one of the best parts of my stay. I felt like family by the end of it and being a family owned business, you can tell they pour their heart into this place and it makes a difference for everyone, even the guests. Shoutout to Craig, Joanna, and Charley for being so great! The tours and game drives at Ololo were unbelievable - the guides are so friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging (some of the best I've ever experienced on a safari), the safari land rovers are open yet secure and the best type of vehicles to take on safari, the drives were convenient and offered 2x per day, and we saw so many animals! Plus, the Ololo team helped coordinate offsite tours/experiences (Sheldrick's Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage, Glass Blowing Factory, Bead Making Factory, Suspension Bridge, etc). The food is amazing - it's farm-to-table and as someone who has chronic stomach pains from eating US foods, I had zero stomach aches while at Ololo. The options for every meal were always such a great variety even for vegetarians or those with any allergies if you let them know. But it was also really cool that you can explore the farm to see where the food is grown and their dedication to sustainability. It's impressive! Don't hesitate any longer and book your stay at Ololo - it's 100% worth it and you won't regret it!!!!

CanadaI wouldn't hesitate to return to this beautiful lodge. In fact, I would make sure to have an extra night or two at the beginning of a safari trip so that we could have a couple of nights at Ololo. We loved our room in the old stables-the bed and pillows were especially comfortable! The staff are wonderful and did everything they could to ensure our comfort. Meals were top notch and house wines and spirits were more than adequate. We took advantage of the morning and evening game drives and were thrilled to see such a variety of animals in a relatively small game park! We also really enjoyed our visit to Sheldrick Trust to see the work that they are doing to support orphaned elephants. Magical! Lastly the pickup and drop-off service makes navigating the airport and Nairobi a breeze.
