Great little hotel with great service but bring your own hot water!

sorry to say the bathroom water heating needs attention. Of so we were warned to wait 5 minutes after running the taps but the best we got then was just lukewarm water. Also water pressure from the showers was frankly pathetic. I know it will cost money to get something decent in place and the goverment's recent hike of parking charges for the Park will hit all hotels badly BUT consider the customers please.

quite good food quality and range of choice. Service nice. The hot water bottles at night much appreciated! Little things like that help to make a hotel go from good to great!

Nothing to do with the hotel, we enjoyed the safari too much and we did not have a chance to try the pool.

Very friendly and helpful staff, they accommodate all requests. Great food. Large, comfortable rooms.

We had a couple of issues with the water not being hot but it was so warm anyway that a slightly cool shower was welcome. I have no doubt that if we complained about it the staff would have sorted it straight away.

Osero Lodge is a beautiful base for an incredible trip to the Masai Mara. If you get a chance to go on safari then DO IT! It's life changing. The staff are so kind and attentive and the masai guards escorting you to your tent is so comforting when you feel like you are out of your comfort zone.

The water in the shower could have been a bit warmer, but hey, it’s a tented camp.

The staff was really helpful, food was good and the place has a good vibe in the Mara.

They should tell you that it is inside the Mara Conservatory and you have to pay the Park Fee even at the day of your arrival.

would be great to pay before getting there as there were problems with the machine. giving guests the option to oh by payment link would be best.

beautiful setting, attentive staff, great food! many highlights but it is the small touches that make a difference. as it was chilly at night, the staff left a hot water bottle in our beds each night. it was really thoughtful and made it cosy. as it was low season we had pretty much the whole property to ourselves too. we felt very safe and secure with the Masaai guards. a really lovely experience.

The lodge is inside the Park in a very quiet and beautiful place. the rooms are separated to have privacy and are big enough. the bed is really comfortable. The food was one of the best things of Osero Lodge, greetings to the Chef! 5 stars to the staff especially Rose! Wonderful time here.

This lodge is simply excellent! Starting from the very first moment we felt warmly welcome. On arrival there was a welcome drink and during our whole stay each and every staff member was always friendly and super attentive. Wonderful tents with a cosy bed, all amenities, and a huge and well equipped bathroom. Excellent restaurant with tasty meals and a wide choice of drinks. The buildings are beautifully set, there's a nice garden and a waterhole where animals can be seen from time to time. Beautiful and clean pool with extra towels. Breakfast is equally excellent, you can choose from various variants. WIFI is available in the restaurant, at the reception and at the pool, the connection works very fast. There are several Maasai villages around where you can follow cultural performances, see the houses and buy souvenirs for fair prices. Alltogether a hidden gem in Maasai Mara!

location is a bit confusing, while it is technically outside Mara, a bit far from the interesting things, it can only be accessed via a road passing Sekenani gate so you will need to pay the park entry fee for all days of the stay

the staff is super nice, food is very good and plenty and the whole area of the property is really nice. comfortable tent with proper bathroom and you can hear all kinds of animals outside during the night but they have guards for protection so its not scary

    Comfortable but awkward tipping situations

One thing that made us a little uncomfortable was the slightly expectant nature of the local masaai guides when walking us to our rooms at night in regards to tipping. We intended to tip all staff at the end of course as is most common but some guides seemed to hand around each night which made us a little awkward as we went to bed. Maybe we'd suggest advising both guests and guides of a tipping procedure to ease this a little? One other small was the absence of bath plugs for the baths. I had a really sore leg after an earlier accident so was eager to have a bath and after realising the first night there wasn't one, we asked on the second night and was told someone would be sent over immediately, we were guided back to our rooms and it never arrived ( we didn't really want to walk back again to chase it up to avoid another awkward moment with the guides) so ended up improvising with tissue and a soap packet! Apart from these two things all was ok!

The staff were so friendly all the women tending to us throughout our stay were really helpful and even let us use their printer for our Zanzibar visas we'd forgotten to print. We were vegan, so the kitchen avoided meats, most dairy and eggs where possible, which was great. Great packed lunches for game drives and also packed breakfasts for early starts. Great value bar menu too.

nothing really. It would have been nice to have more light in the tent but you surrounded by bush so natural light is not very bright. however you are provided with a torch so if I was really struggling to see? I would out the on

The tents were clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and made you feel welcome and at home. The Massai warriors be god guarding the camp at night from ant unwanted wildlife visits was very re- assuring and they would walk you to your tent at night so your felt safe walking the pathways.

WiFi only available at reception which is not a huge problem as your there to absorb nature and not be engrossed in your devices.

The lodge is inside the Masai Mara National Reserve. It’s about a 20 minute drive from the Oloolaimutia Gate which seems far but as it’s a dirt road one can’t pick up speed. The lodge is beautiful, well looked after and the staff is amazing. Actually the staff make your experience amazing. Hats off to Simon our game ranger, who was friendly and informative and made sure we got to see the big five.
