Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandIt was noisy. Room was on second floor and so exposed to traffic noise of trucks during day and early morning and dogs barking at night. Had to use earplugs at night. It was much better on first floor where trees and compound wall blocked much of noise.
The people and hospitality were absolutely amazing and helpful. I have never had such great hospitality and willingness to help out to arrange things and max things excellent!!!!

MalaysiaCan't think of anything yet.
The room and restaurant was nice and I love the location. It is very convenient. And it is near a few attractions like Nairobi Safari Walk and Kitengela Hot Glass by Anselm. Breakfast was also good.

United KingdomWonderful staff, super welcoming and helpful, lovely rooms and a quiet oasis of calm. Brilliant breakfast - some of us are vegan, one is gluten intolerant and one egg allergic. They were all over the dietary requirements - fully aware from the booking and served a lovely breakfast every day with zero issues. The restaurant menu is lovely. Bar man came to find us to tell us the Grand Prix qualifying was on after spotting our interest in the practice session the day before. Just a lovely place.

MalaysiaIt's pretty cold in the room. Perhaps provide more blankets or a heater. Also, the lights in the room can be brighter.
Love the restaurant area, the room, the location that is about 30 mins from Nairobi Safari Walk and Kitengela Hot Glass Studio. It is really convenient, the restaurant has good food and it also has a pool. To me, it is good value for money. It is also just about 25-30 mins from Nairobi. Great for a nice weekend getaway.

United KingdomOne of our rooms did have a damp smell. We did also book 3 x double rooms but arrived to find we were given 2 x doubles and 1 x twin
Stayed as a quick one night stop before flying home. Staff were very friendly and quick to respond to any requests and organised a taxi for us to be picked up from the airport. Rooms are basic but clean. Unfortunately the weather was very cold when we stayed so didn't make use of the pool. Onsite restaurant served good food.

NetherlandsNothing major. I didn't get bread today for it was finished. But the pancake served as bread for me today, so my good people, make sure you have the toast ready tomorrow morning for me eh? I know I was a bit late but still... come on peoples, I need that buttery toast! :-D
The breakfast is always on point. Fruits. You can choose from scrambled, poached, omelette, fried or hard boiled eggs. Then if you are lucky you can get a pancake. Mostly the eggs ( which are two ), come with a sausage, bacon and sausage. The fruits can range from pineapple, melon and banana. Sometimes you can't get them all but you can get two bananas as I did on the first breakfast. Fair enough. The staff is polite and friendly. I have been here two times and each time it is hard to leave. I haven't been in the pool yet but it is nice to see it being used as the weather in Rongai has been rather warm than cold which is awesome! The food. OmG! Authentic Indian food which I LOVE! The hot showers. :-) The bed and simplicity of the place.

NetherlandsThe beds were really hard :-)
The hotel is on a dusty road so be prepared to get a nice free Kenyan massage... The lodge arranged transport from the airport (45 minutes drive) which was nice. We were looking for a hotel to relax for a day after our international flight and which was near the elephant sheldrick orphanage and the Giraffe centre. The next day our safari-trip to the south started. And this hotel is a perfect hotel if you want to skip the big city Nairobi which was our wish. Really nearby, less then 10 minutes away from the sheldrick orphanage. The hotel arranged a driver for us to the elephants and the giraffes centre. The pool was very welcoming for our children to hang out in the afternoon with good working wifi. The food and drinks in the lodge were also good. So good place to hang out for a day.

United StatesI chose this hotel because of the location, reviews and for the vegetarian restaurant menu (sadly, the included breakfast was not vegetarian and no fruit offered). The room hadn’t been cleaned in a while as there was rodent feces on the floor and the water wasn’t turned on. Staff was very friendly and understanding.
