Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyTerrible pre-communication. Never got replies or help how to get to the site from Nairobi and missing signage after the park entrance made it difficult to find on the rough roads (as google maps is inaccurate). The communication with the reservations team has to improve!
Facility and tents were very cool, especially the atmosphere in the large tent for meals and the fire place. At night there were guides that helped you get to the tent, which was helpful. Food was very nice and it was very easy to get the vegetarian option.

United StatesNo wifi in rooms.
Sekenani camp was a fantastic lodge to stay at for our family of 3. The tents, though a little dated, were very comfy and provided us with a great night sleep everynight. Wifi is only available in the main reception area, so none in the tent itself. The highlight of staying in the tents is the whole camp is in the Masai mara conservation area so there are wildlife everywhere even before you go on a game drive. A troop of Olive baboons would sleep in the trees right near by and it was fun to watch them at sunset and sunrise. We also got to hear lions and hyenas at night. I do want to point out two areas of exceptional service at the lodge. First, the camps chef went out his way to make vegan food specifically for my wife and son the entire time we were there. We just talked to him and the staff at our first meal and let them know their dietary restrictions. Secondly, our Masai guide for all our game drives, Simon, was fantastic. He was able to show us so many incredible animals, including all the predators on the Masai Mara we desperately wanted to see. Ask for him by name when booking! Don't hesitate booking this place. We will go back.

GermanyThe bathroom facilities were a bit outdated and the location, though nice and quiet, was quite far away from the actual park. What is also not made clear in the description is the fact that you need to enter the park through Sekenani gate (hence buy a ticket the day you arrive) to arrive at the hotel, but the hotel itself is located outside of the park.
Everyone was very friendly and even though we accidentally arrived a day after our actual booking, we were able to stay without any additional costs! The tent was spacious and the hot water bottles in the evening a nice treat!

The camp in nature without fencing was amazing and beautiful. Feeling so close to nature was the goal of our trip and the camp achieved this and more. The staff and chef were also extremely accomodating and really pleasant to deal with. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and we managed to see a huge array of wildlife.

JapanWifi is only available in the reception, but this is ok if you want to stay away from the interruptions of the modern world and just immerse yourself nature.
Great ambience! If you want to feel nature and be lost in it, this is the place to be. Congratulations to the chef for the delicious meals we were treated to! In particular, soup was very nice! This place gives an extra feel of Masai Mara and would be interesting to those who love bird watching!

United Arab EmiratesThe camp is around a 20 min drive from the sekenani park gate. The staff was extremely hospitable, they went above and beyond our expectations. They made our stay extemely special. It's a real disconnected nature experience. There are a couple hours of electricity in the mornings and evenings, wifi only in the reception and hot water all day. The tents are all tucked into the surrounding nature and have all the basic requirements; elevated on a wooden platform with a small terrace. There is a floating bridge connecting the reception and main dining area/campfire space. The team also helped organize our arrival to the camp from Nairobi and safari drives which we customized with our excellent tour guide. They even went a step further and helped with our flights to other areas. Great service.

United Arab EmiratesThe toilet is a bit old but fair given the property is 31 years old.
It is the perfect getaway for anyone looking for something hidden away in the Masai forest and feels like home. You are nestled amongst the thickness of the masai forest and you wake up to the sounds of birds and monkeys and more. It felt like home the entire time. The people at the camp also make you feel just that. Our fav part was coming back to a cozy bed at the end of a long day with hot water bottles to warm us up.

NorwaySekenani was our first stay in Kenya. Upon arrival we were met with friendly animal neighbors and lush trees. It was quiet and beautiful. I wondered how I would sleep with all the sounds around me. Let me tell you I’ve never slept better! Waking up to the sun peeking through the trees with its rays making little dances on our faces was the perfect way to start the day. When evening came, we were tired and happy from our Safari, the bonfire was ready for us and we just sat there enjoying each others company while reflecting back on our day. The staff was always helpful and the food was amazing! This is definitely the place to be when first visiting Kenya and planning a Safari.

Sri LankaLocation is amazing; the man in the restaurant ruined my supper by demanding payment in exchange for providing cold water. That was an attitude issue more than a financial one. Apart from that, the location is great. Minor staff members who were there to transport you to tents and other locations were really cordial.

The location is just amazing, in the middle of Maasai Mara bush. Everything is green, gorgeous and with a lot of African character. The tented rooms experience was amazing, especially because of the wild bush scenary outside and the fact that the tents were well equipted. The animals voices during the night were music to.our ears. The service of the staff was impacable. The food was excellent and the camfire at the public area at night added to the fun. This place truely provided us with a unique experience we will not forget.

United Arab Emirates1. The sales manager Jerome tried to reach out directly and give slightly better rate than Booking.com. When we declined and reached the camp on day of check-in, he charged $600 extra for 2 kids, over and above the family rate that he offered to us directly. We had no option but to pay. During season they try to squeeze as much from tourists as possible. 2. There is no power in the camp half the time. 3. The tents are very basic with no toiletries, no heater (becomes very cold & windy) 4. Highly overpriced
The staff at the camp is very welcoming. The camp is in lush green forest. The chef accommodates any food requirements. Safari driver Simon that they arranged went out of his way during game drives for animal spotting.
