Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Despite being minutes walk from the beach, you get the feeling like staying in jungle. This place is perfectly blended into the nature. The highlight is bushbaby feeding with sunset.

PolandI stayed only two nights, and the first night was on Thursday when they have karaoke night. It was very loudly till 1 am and it was impossible to sleep, what I did not like. I wish they finish earlier or I knew about it before so I could reconsider my stay. Just FYI in case you like to sleep earlier and well.
The place has great location. To get to the beach you just need to cross the road. The room was clean, and despite many insects and open space, the mosquito net above the bed protects from any bites. Very fresh to sleep with the fan and lack of windows. Wifi works good and the food has reasonable price. Friendly staff, the lady (manager?) booked the shuffle bus for me to get to the train station, and call to the kite surfing school to book a lesson for me.

Ugandaguests that arrive at night ought to be walked to their rooms, lest they may go to the wrong cabin.
The place has cozy tree houses, set in the midst of a tropical forest, allowing guests to live in harmony with endangered monkeys. it is also near all the cool places in Diani, including flamboyant beach which all guests can access gratis; the fancy cave restaurant ali Barbour, the chandarana and carrefour shopping centers, the manyatta, tandoori and full moon night clubs, an Italian and Mexican restaurant, to name only a few. above everything, all staff members are welcoming and will pull all stops to ensure you have a comfortable and memorable stay in Diani, for me that included booking a reservation for me at the very popular and busy cave restaurant.

ItalyWe came in december and it was crazy hot and humid (nothing that the structure can do about this) but not having fresh water to shower and a ventilator in the room did not help. We were sticky and sweaty for 5 days. Karaoke can be loud and can go on until 1 am but it is just once per week (thursday) so it is not such a big problem
The staff is very welcoming and friendly, we felt at home. The food is tasty so I suggest eating there sometimes. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The location is amazing, we slept in the stilt surrounded by nature and waking up with birds and monkeys. The beach is 8 minutes walking and we could access it through a partnering hotel. It is possible to pay 1000ksh and use the facilities of the hotel (beds, swimming pool, shower and restaurant)

South AfricaI had a fantastic stay at Stilts. The location is really cool and the forest around the rooms makes you feel so relaxed. The beach is in walking distance as well as some shops if you need any supplies The best part of my stay was definitely the kind hospitality from the staff during my time there. They really went above and beyond to make sure I had the best time and was safe. Jane helped me organise all my activities and supported me to coordinate with my bank when I was having issues. She also helped me get safely from Mombasa and helped me book some tours on her day off. Dixon and Emmanuel were also very friendly and helpful. I am very grateful for the kindness I was showed. I’ve traveled around the world and never experienced this level of hospitality. The food was tasty the room was clean and comfortable. In the evening you can even see and feed bush babies! I could not have planned for a better way to start my trip in Diani. Thank you so much Stilts team! 🙏

Australiapoor animal ethics - they organise feeding of the bush babies every day at 7pm which is definitely to put money into the bar than for the benefit of these wild animals, and then when the bush babies want more food from the kitchen, they throw things at them to get them to go away. really awful Security breach - lock boxes are provided in a central area, however during our stay our lock box was opened by the manager & left unlocked and unattended without our knowledge despite it containing passports & valuable items. smoking everywhere! there is no “no smoking” area so they just smoke all through the common area. Makes it difficult to enjoy a meal when people are smoking all around you. food service is very slow - we waited over an hour for food in the evenings.
nice food (but slow), close to the beach, nice staff, and free upgrade into a Banda from a tent which was nice, the common area is lovely & frequently visited by monkeys. reasonably priced considering its location.

NetherlandsWe had rain fall, and our room flooded. We had to find the manager our selves even after the cleaning staf was already in our Ron for half an hour. We got a other room for the night with not the same facilities. As compensation for moving our stuff, sleeping in a other room and for al our wet stuff we got a free dinner. It did not feel like a right compensation. When we where back in our room we noticed that monkeys can get in the room. So don’t put any food in the room.
The bar is perfectly cosy. Our appartement had a lot of privacy. The food was good. The common toilets where very clean The manager was very kind and funny.

South AfricaThere were no plugs in the room. But kinda made you go sit in the common sitting area which was nice and could meet other people etc.
We arrived very late at night, and were still welcomed and shown to our room. The manager was so kind and even upgraded us to the stilts bungalow instead of the tent due to the constant rain and availability in the bungalow. Even though we didn't have the best weather, we really enjoyed our time at Stilts. The common sitting area by the restaurant, is comfortable, wifi is strong, nice mellow music playing. The food was really great too ! On top of all this, every night we got to spend with th cutest fury creatures, bush babies, that live wild and free in the trees surrounding the place.

KenyaThe reception especially Jane need a refresher course to remind her of customers relation communication and protocols. She was rude and did not seem to belong in a people-oriented industry. She can do better! * Edit: Now that the management has somehow resulted to be unprofessional let me give the details here. Why I was dissatisfied with Jane is because she was rude and caused me to pay extra for my Uber simply because the atm machine was not working. I quote her " our machines are not working what do you want me to do?" When I was paying for the extra nights. Then when I told her I can pay in the morning or later her answer was like I am going off tomorrow so you have to pay now only for me to wake up the next morning and find her at the reception!! And the Uber guy asked for double price she took long to complete the said transaction. From their feedback, it seems I was upset with the downgrade which is not true. How can I be upset yet I booked tents from the beginning? It is exactly what I was looking for . And why do I have a problem with Jane and not anything else with the facility? You treated me rude and very unprofessional. And for your information, if I was upset with the downgrade, I would definitely have checked out after two nights. But I stayed for 7 nights. !! So please be professional. Again, you can be better
The treehouse and the tent are extremely comfortable and convenient. The ambience is inviting for anyone interested in nature and do not mind having colombus monkeys as neighbors 😁. Also, Stilt have bush babies and they are fed every day at around 7pm and it is a moment to die for. However the service staff especially the lady can do better. A bit of professionalism can go a long way. Also, there is a till number but Jane , a receptionist, insist on send money at a price that is not in the menu or room catalog. Overall, there is value for money and a good place to indulge in the nature. Also, Dickson, a wait staff was very professional, helpful and understood the surrounding. Highly recommend the place
