Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

KenyaThe motto is, come as a guest and leave as a friend and that's exactly how we felt. This small property in Malindi is exactly the right place to recover from Mombasa. It feels like the clocks run slower here. We received a warm welcome from Trevor and his team. Later we were also able to meet his mom, who has an interesting story. The rooms are clean and seem to have been completely renovated. The bed is spacious, has a mosquito net and a good mattress. The bathroom is big enough for two people at the same time and the shower was clean and there were no problems with the water. There was fresh water and no salt water! The room has air conditioning and a ceiling fan which cooled the room down despite the heat in March. The room is also equipped with a completely new fridge to store things. The terrace invites you to relax and take an afternoon nap. The pool in the morning and evening was also great for cooling off. Although to be fair, it hardly works in March. :) The breakfast is rich and typical of the country, with local fruits, sausage, eggs prepared according to personal wishes including toast. Plus hibiscus tea and fresh coffee or tea. It was a shame that we had to return to Mombasa after just two nights. We really felt at home. Traver and his mother do everything right here. Thank you for your lovely hospital. Hope we will be back soon.

LatviaIf you like silence, peace and mother`s care, then this is the place for you. Jeen will take care of you like her own child. We wanted pancakes for breakfast and Saidi made delicious pancakes for us. There is a romantic, beautiful rest zone and place for breakfast, dinner or lunch with nice music and lighting in evenings.

KenyaI liked everything.
We arrived there and we were welcomed by the house owner Mama and Said. We felt at home from the moment we stepped into White Nyumba. The next morning we had a late breakfast and my husband and I really enjoyed. Te omelette was the best we have ever tasted in our lives. Said really is an excellent Chef. From the wonderful breakfast we decide to let Said prepare our dinner too. And ofcourse he did not disappoint. He went to the fish market and bought for us fresh fish. Everything is cooked fresh from the market. We had to invite my sister, her husband and their 3 year old son to this beautiful place. It was fully booked since it was in December but one of the guests canceled and we managed to get a room for them. My sisters son really enjoyed swimming in the pool and running around the garden. The room we stayed in was spacious and even though the electricity kept going off which is very normal for Kenya, the generator kept us going. The Villa is also in a secure area and very close to Malindi town. Said would happily drive us around on his Motorbike anytime we needed to go somewhere. Lastly, the lady who owns the property was very friendly and always ready to assist. She ended up giving us a discount because we brought her more clients 😀. She is so motherly and sweet. Thank you Mama for the wonderful time we had there. We will definitely be coming back soon.

HungaryHighly recommended place! We had better service than a 5 star hotel in Kenya. The staff was superkind they helped us a lot even they help the fixed our broken car as well. The place was peaceful and you could feel that all the place was for you. This place was not crowded and it was separated from the other guests. The accommodation is perfect for every kind of weather and it was gorgeous. They were collecting fresh flowers from the garden to our table. I also recommend you to order fresh and delicious seafood from Said the chef because he will make you a perfect and private dinner. Actually we decided to go for this accommodation because of the reviews about him, and it was totally worth it. Thank you again
