How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

While beds were comfortable, it was a bit too hot in the room - but I guess it's better when the A/C is turned on

The beds were rather hard and personally I would prefer a fitted sheet, but at that price point I was delighted all the same and still slept well. I also really think it would take very little effort to signpost the hostel more clearly. I was lost when arriving and I know I was not the only one - a laminated sheet of A4 with Tunduk Hostel stuck to the door would do the trick.
Wow oh wow this hostel is lovely! I was instantly welcomed into an absolutely stunning building, just amazing, the staff spoke beautiful English and the whole experience was just amazing, everyone who worked there and who stayed there was so kind. Made some friends within the first five minutes. These people KNOW how to run a hostel - and on top of that it was probably the cheapest private room I've ever rented. Huge kudos to the management, it was amazing. The hostel is not in the city centre - I accept this. But a return taxi is like 3-5EUR and of course you can share, plus Bishkek is pretty hectic so to be honest being a bit further out is pretty good. It felt like a lovely haven.

We don’t mind it but expect lots of long-term renters during our stay. Since it’s winter, everyone was hanging out inside the building. In the summer, I can imagine guests can hangout outside so pretty spread out.

Clean kitchen, family rooms, close to Globus, cheap transfers, lots to see around Bishkek. Cool people around the world. Stayed there for around a month!

Pretty everything: it is the heaven inside a city. Very close to every supermarket, pharmacy, the fresh market and so on. They have everything you need at the kitchen. Clean showers with hot water all the time. Lots and lots of books, chess and other things to do inside and outside the huge territory. The cleaning ladies are so great: they take case about the place as you always feel at home. We stayed in the family room with the working place which helped me to focus on work, but the hall was also a nice one because there are plenty of space to work inside the main hall as well. It is so cheap to travel around the city and from the city: 10-15 soms (~10 cents) to get away and see the nature (Panorama Bishkek and hills around,, Arashan and Dove's waterfall old cemetery closer to the mountains and such) Make sure to visit Ортосайский рынок (market) 10 mins walk from the hostel, also very cheap and fresh products there all the time. Enjoy the city and countryside!

The only thing I didn't like it wat that when you need to go to the toilet you have to cross the garden and maybe raining

The owner and her family are really nice and helpful. It is definitely a great place to relax a few days or a good starting point to arrive in Bishkek and organize your trip in all Kirghizstan.

It is a bit far away from the city center, but with the app YandexGo you can go anywhere very very cheap, so it was not a problem.
I've god a very cosy and quiet private room in the 2nd floor. The price was excellent. Bathrooms and showers were enough. Friendly staff. Supermarkets are nearby.

It’s about 4 kms out of the centre; Cannot recommend the lake son kul horse tour - while the locations, vistas and home stays were great, the horses and guide/s were wanting.
Characterful and clean; Staff are a font of info for all of Kyrgistan !

At first they didn't answer my phone to find the place. The lady in the reception couldn't speak English.

It is a bit far from the center but there are always Yandex around and within 10-20 minutes you can reach. The kitchen isn’t well ventilated so whenever someone is cooking the entire hostel and rooms will smell of food, which I didn’t like.
Azima, the owner is super friendly and hospitable, she gave me a lot of tips and helped me and other guests to book tours. I booked a private room and had a very comfortable stay. The hostel is good to connect and get to know other travelers and it has all facilities available, or even has a pool and a nice yard to relax.

Was a little hard to find as only has a very small sign above gate. Was a bit of a pain having plug sockets right next to the bed, rather than to the side, so having to put charging devices on bed whilst sleeping which is already pretty small.
Comfy enough beds with plug sockets next to them. Nice outside space for chilling out and chatting to friends. Good showers.
