Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur lodge room had a broken lock meaning we couldn't secure the room. This wasn't much of a concern as it is a very private and safe location and they did say they could fix this the next day. We only stayed the one night so it didn't affect us and imagine it was resolved after we left. I wouldn't call the river side sand a beach as such as it was about 0.5m long and used to push the kayaks in from. Though this didn't affect our stay. Not sure why they mention as a beach but if you intend to sunbathe and relax on a beach towel you might be disappointed. Our mosquito net had some holes in which we didn't report as it was late in the evening when we noticed at night BUT i have not doubt they would have done their best to resolve this had been there more than one night.
The location is stunning and peaceful, directly next to the river side. They grow some of the produce for meals on site and the rest is mostly from the local market. The menu was huge and what we had from it was great. The chef I believe is French, as is the owner, and this definitely was noticeable in the mix of European and Asian food alike. They also have a vast selection of Belgian Beers if that is your thing. We hired some Kayaks from the lodge and took them independently on one of the two main Kayak routes within five minutes from the river bank. This was one of our highlights of our three week trip in Cambodia and was a really good opportunity to see wildlife and just feel relaxed amongst the quiet bamboo surroundings. Highly recommend. We wish we had been able to stay here longer. The staff were also lovely and did their best to help us when ever we asked for assistance.

GermanyWe were not a fan of the coffee which is served in a French press. But that’s just a question of personal taste.
Really nice spot out of Kampot but easy to get there with a tuk tuk. Very peaceful place, very well maintained. Basic breakfast is much better than at other places. Great to have a glass of wine at night and to enjoy the warm summer night outside.

United KingdomEven better if: Shampoo and conditioner were provided , in addition to the shower gel
We stayed in Palm lodge. We loved the pressure and hot water in the shower. The mosquito net and coil burner reduced the risk of bites. The two fans were positionable and the stand up fan was moveable so the temperature at night was comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast looking over the river, the crepes were lovely and it was good cafetière coffee. The fruit bowl was a generous portion with yoghurt. We ate dinner here both nights and had great steaks one night with kampot pepper. The Khmer bbq looked a sociable option streaming vegetables, noodles and a meat platter over a charcoal table burner. There are great beer and wine options. We used the kayaks and enjoyed exploring the green cathedral , although there was more plastic pollination than we’d expected. We used earplugs at night - there was music from local resorts. We didn’t mind the noise of the fishing boats passing or the mosque. We loved the geckos and the tree frog that peered out from a bamboo hanging pot inside - but decided to return it outside! We took the advertised Tuk Tuk tour and thoroughly enjoyed a genuine, local viewpoint avoiding the more commercial pepper plantations. This was a great way to experience the locality. It’s easy to get Tuk tuks into Kampot. Staff are lovely.

CambodiaWe stayed in a two-bed lodge, which was very nice. The only suggested improvement would be to fix the bathroom door. It didn't shut perfectly, but would after a bit of work.
Great breakfast, location right on the river and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. Good for families, safe location and plenty of activities to do.

MalaysiaThe lodge is very near a mosque and the prayers can be listened between 4 and 5 a.m Even if it is very safe, the key to lock the door was not working and there is no safe box in the room.
We stayed in the palm lodge. The bedroom is a typical very nice Khamer construction. The garden is beautiful and well kept. Nice river front veranda makes the breakfast experience unique. The toilet at the restaurant it is an experience in itself, they even have a fish pond there. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Good food.

United KingdomThe location is so peaceful although a couple of neighbours weren’t, really inconsiderate. Take earplugs as the fishermen come up river at 5am, there are cockerels around and there is an early call to prayer nearby. Don’t let this put you off, Champa is a little haven worth visiting.
Lovely meals sitting out on the deck overlooking the river. Very chilled vibe, lovely staff who were helpful and welcoming.

United KingdomWe had to request a move from the room which was advertised as having a river view. This was agreed but when checking out there was an attempt to charge extra for this which we refused to pay. The manager\owner didn't seem interested in us as the only guests but hosted individuals who appeared known to him.
The staff were attentive and helpful to any queries or requests for information. The location was good on the waterfront and food was tasty.

United KingdomI didn’t sleep a wink because you can hear everything and I mean everything. Parties, boats, call to prayer, dogs, other animals etc… It’s also a magnet for bugs, if you’re not keen on bugs then it’s not for you. Mosquito net didn’t really help. Was meant to stay for 3 nights but checked out after 1 as I personally didn’t feel comfortable there. However we were only charged for the one night which was kind of the owner to allow. Again - personally it’s not for me but I can see the appeal for others who like the authentic outdoor experience.
I can really see the appeal for some people… but personally it was not for me. The location was great, right on the river with great views and the staff and dogs were friendly.

United KingdomCould really do with air con in the room - very uncomfortable to sleep. The menu was also quite limited and there was not a great deal to do on site which a 6 year old could participate in. And almost forget, woken every morning with the fishermen going out, stopping off and chopping down trees dead opposite the room. The noise was not welcomed.
Cannot fault the staff at the residence, particularly one of the khmer staff who took us to the waterfall and helped carry my son up a very long set of stairs to get there in great heat
