Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandA really wonderful stay here with really good food! They have a nice area out the back for relaxing and reading. The double room we were in was a good size with a nice bed bed. We had everything we needed. The showers are quite small with the toilet and sink all in the same tight space but we didn’t mind this and there was good water pressure. There are motorbikes to rent and Manel is awesome to help book tours and trips. It is a little bit of a walk into the main town area but it’s nice and quite where it is :)

DenmarkNot a big issue, but it is a bit away from city center (only around 1 kilometer).
Manel and his entire family are very friendly and helpful. Manel helhed my book a jungletrekking tour and it was truly an amazing experience. The Guesthouse has a really cozy atmosphere to it, the beds are comfortable, AC is working well and the food is very good. I would definitely recommend staying here!

IrelandThe room we had was small, a little claustrophobic and the sliding door entrance to the room had gaps between the frame which allowed for ghekos and bugs to get in easily. The bed was very hard for our liking and left my partner with a sore back.
The owner and his family were really nice and accommodating. We ate there two nights and the food was really nice. They gave us little sachets of proper shampoo and conditioner which was a nice touch we thought. We rented a scooter from them which was great!

AustraliaIt is a bit far out of town, 20minutes walk from the bus stop by foot or 1-2$ by tuktuk
The owner was very welcoming and friendly! He helped us out with any question we had and we were also allowed to leave our bags there after our stay and picked it up after. Even one day after we left we were still allowed to shower there Food is very delicious too

United StatesI can’t thank Manel and his family enough for a great stay. I booked 2 nights here to rest after 3 days with elephants and I’m so glad I did. Manel made the stay very warm and personal. He took care of my laundry, booking my bus back to PP, and anything else I needed. I ate all my meals here because the food was so tasty and well priced. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. Highly recommend!

NorwayMy room had a window facing wall. It had daylight, but no view. It was ok for 1 night.
Comfortable, clean room, hot shower, beautiful terrace with green garden view. The owner is a friendly and helpful person speaking good English. He helped me to book a trip and bus ticket, and he rented out scooters also. It's around 15 min. walk to the centre of the village.

GermanyWe really enjoyed our stay here. The city is within walking distance from the guesthouse, but you're still far enough from its noise. The guesthouse has a beautiful chilling area outside with hammocks, tables and chairs, where you can enjoy a fresh breeze and hear the rooster sing. It also has a restaurant for when it's too chilly outside. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy and the bathroom has everything you need: hot water, a toilet with a hand shower, fans to extract the vapor and toiletries. There's also AC and a fan, but we didn't need them during our stay. The moskito net is in good condition. And on top of that, Manel is fantastic. He is always helpful, caring, funny, and has a smile on his face. He organized the two days trecking tour with the Mondulkiri Project for us, and was flexible enough to change our reservation to adapt to our new travelling plans. Moreover, on our last day here I got really sick and he helped us sort everything out: he called the travelling company to postpone our trip and extended our stay so I could have an extra day of rest. He also offered to take me to the clinic, which fortunately wasn't necessary. If we came back to Mondulkiri, we would definitely stay here again.
