Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. NetherlandsEverything was so much more than I could have hoped for.
This place is magical. I don't even know where to start. The welcome of the friendliest staff ever with lotus flowers and decoration on my bed was the start of an amazing four days I had at sokkhak. Everything was tended to, from organizing a temple trip with the friendliest driver, to the most relaxing massage on site. The hotel itself is so well decorated and maintained. The garden made me feel immersed in nature. The bed is like a cloud. I felt so welcome and at home, I'll recommend this place to anyone I know is going to Siem Reap. The location is perfect as it's not in the busy city, so nice and quiet for a good night's rest. City is easily accessible by tuk tuk, the hotel has the friendliest driver. Thank you to everyone at the hotel, you made me feel so welcome and happy.

United KingdomThe staff were amazing - they really looked after us and made us feel so welcome and were so helpful in organising services for us. The facilities, pool, restaurant, food were great (including the lovely flat white coffees at breakfast!). The rooms were so comfortable, roomy with all the trimmings to make it a lovely stay. We were given welcome lotus water drinks when we arrived from our daily travels which was a nice touch, as were the bed decoration on arrival. A lovely oasis to stay at.

FranceMy stay was marvelous. It’s calm and cozy. The staff is very helpful, they organized everything for me and I had not to worry about anything. And after a day of sight seen, the pool offers an idyllic retreat to chill and refresh with a nice cocktail.

United KingdomIt was not a problem for us, but there was nowhere to walk around locally. But we got what we wanted - a quiet location, and a lovely relaxing place to return to after tiring temple visits.
I have never stayed anywhere so wonderful in my life! The staff are so friendly and provide such good service. It's a lovely little hotel (12 rooms) in lush gardens with a beautiful swimming pool. The rooms are lovely and the beds are super comfy. The housekeeper had arranged my name in leaves and flowers with ‘welcome’ on arrival. The location is quiet - it's a distance from the town centre which is why I booked it. But you get a free tuk tuk ride to town from the hotel - they're waiting right outside. The drivers will check what time to pick you up and that's about 3 dollars. It's a nice drive to the centre. The lovely staff booked all the trips - with their tuk tuk drivers and we had a guide one day. They also checked if you wanted them to book a table in town (or at their restaurant) for dinner and booked that. The restaurant there and a la carte breakfasts are excellent. I had a relaxing ginger aromatherapy massage in their spa (very reasonably priced) and a waiter accompanied me with a pot of real ginger to my room to relax afterwards. I could go on forever - drinks served by the pool…the door quietly opened for you when the staff noticed you coming back from the pool area or elsewhere. The staff felt like lovely friends and I was so moved when four of them and two tuk tuk drivers came to wave us off. Sorry for the essay! There was so much to write.

United StatesI wish the there were more menu options as well as a greater variety for breakfast, especially for those who do not eat eggs.
Approximately ten minutes from the city center, you'll find an oasis in the quiet residential neighborhood outside of Siem Reap. You'll be greeted by a warm welcoming and smiling staff ready to answer to your every relaxing whims. The property is quaint and comfortable so no worry of crowdedness and feeling like a number. The staff is ready to schedule tours to amazing Angkor Wat or cooking class to learn and taste delicious Khmer cuisine. Our leave your stresses on the massage table at the in hotel spa. Either way you won't be disappointed by your choice to stay at Sokkhak Boutique Hotel.

CanadaThe items served on the breakfast could be better. It appears that there is only a very tiny kitchen. I may be wrong. I gave an average for location, as some travellers may like to know that the property is situated away from Pub Street, and the restaurants near the river. However, if you do not mind having to take the tuk tuk each time, the inn is nestled in tranquil setting.
The pickup from the Duty Free Shop, the prompt greetings accompanied by a cool towel and drink when one arrived back from an outing, the staff, especially the staff, from the tuk-tuk drivers to the reception, housekeepers, the wait staff, the masseuse, and the hardworking manager, the beautiful, tranquil setting, the small pool, the size of the room, and the top value.

United KingdomNothing, it’s gorgeous!
We had an amazing stay at this lovely boutique hotel. The staff, especially mr Lee, are super friendly and the service is outstanding. The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable and the breakfast was delicious (do try banana bacon & amok toast with homemade tomato jam). Our room looked out onto the fresh water pool … gorgeous! Don’t hesitate to book. It’s a great location for Angkor Wat, botanical gardens, Apopo rats and the national museum, and is only a short tuk tuk ride into the main restaurant areas and night market.

South KoreaPractically nothing. One tiny complaint was a few noises on the first night (dogs barking outside late at night or early morning, and what sounded like a pump running every 15/20 mins), but after that night not sure if noises went away or we were just so tired from long fun-filled days but we slept easily in the super comfy beds! The other thing that would have been nice is if there were more places to hang things. I realize it is a spa hotel but I felt guilty a little for having our towels replaced every day, but there were no places to hang them. Hopefully though you see how thorough I am writing this review and really these are the ONLY complaint and suggestion for improvement...
The staff were the best: super friendly, always attentive, and there was no request too big! Marady and Sopal answered many questions about Cambodian culture and food, and we were like friends by the end of our weeklong stay. The decor and ambience is gorgeous and relaxing, if only our schedule of temple exploring and birdwatching was not so tight I would have loved to have simply relaxed around the pool area and in the room. The one time I did try the pool for a quick dip, it was refreshing (perfect temp) and they turned on the waterfall for just me! The garden courtyard is beautiful with many flowering plants, lots of commoner garden species of birds and small geckos and yellow frogs near the main door at night (but no creepy crawlies at the same time I should emphasize). The restaurant served some of the best food I had of the trip. Prices for everything were very reasonable. Our tuk tuk driver, Makara (Kim), was amazing too, taking us anywhere and at anytime we wanted. He always waited patiently and greeted us after a temple visit with cold water and a refreshing wet-wipe. He also knows good restaurants and shopping areas. I am already planning my second trip to this fascinating and warmest of countries and plan to spend all my time in Siem Reap again at Sokkhak Boutique! Orkun jraeun!~

EstoniaGreat stay and nice people but the property is not as fresh as it could be anymore. A bit on the pricier side for Cambodia. The location is 10 min tuktuk ride away from the center but on the other hand closer to the temples. Also, the pool temperature was a bit too cold - I think they are lowering the temperature of the pool as it was much colder than the air temperature. Otherwise, breakfast was great and people were so friendly.

United StatesWe loved every aspect of our stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. We would have loved a slightly under variety of food at the restaurant since we ended up eating 3 meals at the restaurant in addition to breakfast. But this also tells the reader how much we loved our stay. It was a perfect retreat from the sights of Angkor Wat.
The value and price were unbelievable. Absolutely the highest level of professionalism among the staff with comfortable beds, soft bedding and all in a small and intimate hotel. The spa treatments were inexpensive and some of the very best I’ve ever had.

The best decision I've made was to book our stay at the Sokkhak Boutique Resort in Siem Reap. In case you're looking for an intimate, relaxing, romantic venue with spot on service, then do not hesitate any longer, this is undoubtedly the perfect place for you! In a nutshell since my review is quite long, Sokkhak resort offers a peaceful and relaxing environment, far from all those big hotels/factories for tour- operators. Everything is refined and they're very much into those small details that makes a big difference. The true gem of that hotels resides in its staff, offering an impeccable service from the heart, anticipating all our needs and expectations, and always going the extra mile to make our stay more enjoyable. I would like to thank and particularly highlight Ostraly, Sophal, Chanty, Sunny, Tina, Mouet; but also all the other staff working in the back end. Our experience started before our stay, with a friendly message from Ostraly, offering to assist us with all arrangements for our stay. Upon arrival, Sophal was waiting for us at the airport and drove us to the hotel with our suitcases by tuk-tuk. We were welcomed with a genuine smile and friendly "welcome home", cold towels and refreshing welcome drinks. Ostraly reviewed all details of our stay with us and assisted us organizing our massage session and visits. Our room was spacious, refined and beautifully decorated. A nice message was displayed on the bed, and the bathroom was decorated with flowers. The resort offers a beautiful salty water pool nestled in a tropical lush, a great restaurant serving a succulent cuisine with impeccable service for breakfast/lunch and dinner, and a couple room massage upon request (totally recommend the 90 minutes Khmer massage, so relaxing!). Our room was spacious, refined and beautifully decorated. A nice message was displayed on the bed, and the bathroom was decorated with flowers.

A boutique, enjoyable hotel. Nice pool, comfortable bed, good big bathroom. All spotless, beautiful decor with Khmer touch. Staff was attentive, very pleasant. Food in the restaurant was very good. Free transport to airport, nice touch. Oooh, and there is a morning food market about 300 metres away, worth visiting.

SerbiaNothing, really. The location is not central, but therefore, it was quiet and secluded with Sokon tuk-tuking as anytime, anywhere.
Fantastic place. We were so lucky to have chosen it. Great, helpful staff with a good knowledge of english. It was a quiet time, so we felt like the place was only ours. The pool is cosy and nice. They own one of the best restaurants in downtown Siep Ream ( Sokhak river lounge), so the food is also great. Hope to be back sometimes :)

NetherlandsThere was nothing I did not like. Perhaps the location is not convenient to walk to the center but Mr. Tuok was always there to transfer us wherever we wanted.
Excellent menu and great service from the hotel staff. I normally dont use the pool at hotels but in this case I spent most of my free time at the pool. The room was big, well designed with beautiful decoration. The hotel staff did their best to facilitate all our requests (even when at short notice). I will certainly visit Cambodia again and I look fw to another stay at Sokkhak.
