Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy room had a door inside which adjoined the room next door. Whilst the door was locked and there were no worries about someone accessing the room, I could easily hear my neighbour and if I spoke their language, I'd have no problem in eavesdropping on their conversation (and presumably vice versa if I wasn't on my own). The staff told me it costs US$30 to get a cab to the airport - it is 1/3 of that using Grab. I appreciate they may have arrangements with local drivers, but that kind of attempted overcharging is not a good look.
The hotel is very clean, well located and convenient. Hotel is showing its age a little, but is fine. Photos are accurate. Staff were friendly, helpful and prompt in dealing with any requests. Wifi was fast and reliable, the electrics all work fine and were properly located. Everything you need is either at the hotel or you can get anything else at the Lucky Supermarket, which is a five minute walk away in Exchange Square.

MalaysiaHotel look is a bit outdated. Bathroom could use a facelift.
The housekeeping staff was honest (i forgot to lock my safe deposit box) and the front desk informed me and showed me pictures that my belongings are still in the safe deposit box. They also remember my meal preferences and have my coffee served daily during breakfast. When a light bulb blew up in my bathroom they immediately got it fix. Service was prompt whenever you need something.

United KingdomIf you like cereals then there is a very limited choice. I eat porridge but the porridge available at breakfast was made from rice not oats. I would suggest bring your own and they will make it for you.
breakfast had a wide range of foods and there was a good selection of juices and tea/coffee. If you are a big eater at breakfast then this is the hotel for you. prices are very reasonable for lunch/dinner

The ladies in the front desk are very warm heart and patient with us. They helped us to contact several different car rental companies and also the bus service provider and finally found the best solution for us to travel to Siem Reap.

Stylish approach to hotel. Very good caring staff. Huge room. I got upgrade to balcony with booking.com as tier 3. Just felt like 4 or 5 star hotel. Restaurant open and food good and room service. Very quiet safe area opposite us embassy. 5 mins walk to train station for train to kompot and kep and islands. 2 dollar tuk tuk. 10 mins walk from giant ibis drop of stop. You can go to other nearby hotels to use there pool. Currently as Xmas us embassy Christmas lights and sings playing at front. Quite nice, but one night it went on until 2am?

ThailandHotel catered to the MICE customers. Initially I was abruptly denied entry into the only restaurant for lunch as it was booked for a conference and the whole restaurant was filled. (Turned out there were plenty of empty tables.) There was no coffee shop to work and wait out the lunchtime rush, but they eventually left me in, placing me in a corner table to quietly go about my business. I chose not to order lunch until all had left, so the staff were not catering to my needs, though I did have a cup of coffee. The staff were great, only following their "policy" but it would be nice if paid guests who are on a tight schedule and expect to be able to order lunch at the hotel had someplace to eat when things got busy. I had some flexibility, so in the end, it was fine. For people on a tighter schedule, it would be quite frustrating. I found the staff made up for the predicament I was in.
Great location! Quiet, with a park and riverfront nearby. It makes for a nice getaway in the middle of the city. The staff was fabulous. They went out of their way to help me with booking transportation out of Phnom Penh. The rooms are cozy and the balcony was a nice option.
