Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI think the message, 'don't drink the water' should have been a bit more prominent than in the small print of the Customer Guide accessed via QR code. Two 600ml bottles were provided daily but to have to pay for additional water via the Reception desk adds insult to injury. The room was 'tired', particularly the bathroom. The wardrobe space was not wide enough to hold my suitcase so it sat on the window bench. The bathroom is poorly designed. There was no hand-basin with a bench and mirror. All my toiletries were on the sink/basin in the bedroom. No black tea. I kind of understand that on Jeju with the Osulloc Tea Plantation an (excellent) island attraction but I didn't get black tea at Best Western in Busan either. The fact that the windows open far enough for a small child to climb out is an issue, an insect screen would go someway to reducing the danger and the odd mosquito. I was up on the 15th floor. The TV offerings were very ordinary for non-Korean speakers. There was no safe in the room!
The location was good from our perspective as it served our needs. We were able to sightsee in the area beyond Jeju City using the buses that traversed our street. The public transport in South Korea gets a big tick. We used a day maxi-taxi to see attractions further away from Jeju City. That was an excellent choice. The cost was shared 4 ways and the driver was fantastic. Big thanks to the Reception staff for helping us organise the taxi. I had a great view from my room across Jeju City to the sea. I could see the planes flying out of the airport. The windows worked well to block noise. It was handy having a Starbucks in the lobby and the hotel Bar was a pleasant space.

MalaysiaBooking of this hotel - 22nd to 24th December 2023 - was made at the very last minute when our flight to Busan was cancelled due to inundated snowfalls. Since we were stranded in this lovely island of Jeju for another 2 days, I might as well made the best out of it. And I was glad that I booked this hotel. 1) They have connecting rooms so that our kids didn’t have to sleep separately from us. With extra bathroom and definitely more spacious than our previous hotel, we didn’t have to fight for toilet everytime and moving around was definitely easier. 2) Located just few minutes from Jeju International Airport, this hotel is located along the main road leading towards the airport. Lotte Duty Free is within walking distance; many nice restaurants nearby the hotel (I had one of the best pork ribs stew and marinated crabs); a rather big convenience store GS25 right next to the hotel; as well as a lovely cafe directly opposite the hotel - spot the green facade of Flat 4 Coffee & one hands on oppa manning the counter. 3) Starbucks on the ground floor (lobby) in the same building that opens early in the morning, perfect for us to catch a quick breakfast before flying off to Seoul. Coffee however, left too much to be desired.. still hopeless as I remember! 4) Staffs were trying their best to assist us. The receptionist even helped me to call for Jumbo taxi to the airport on our last day! Didn’t manage to take photos of the hotel and room as we were overwhelmed and exhausted that fateful day!

United StatesDespite there being 3, the elevators took forever (more than forever) and the floors (except lobby) were not accessible via stairs. Our bathroom fixtures looked like they belonged in a 1-star motel. We also realized our bodies don’t like traditional Korean sleeping arrangements (on the floor on a thin mat).
Big modern building, though our rooms needed some updating. The first full day we were there, the hotel staff was kind enough to leave fresh towels and bottled water hanging in a bag on our door despite no request for it.

South Koreagym is pretty lacking even compared to other budget hotels 🫤 the tv is REALLY old. in this day and age, you can buy smart TVs with Netflix and other streaming services built in, for just a couple of hundred dollars.. entertainment wise, it’s pretty much not going to be remotely fun for a foreign traveler looking to watch some movies or something in the room cuz there is nothing you can understand on tv. water… no water dispenser or ice anywhere ☹️

SingaporeThe Korean futon bed was really a disappointment. Literally, a thin sheet of mattress on the floor. So uncomfortable. When we asked to change the room with a bed, we were given an upright no for the first night, sighting all rooms were taken and yet in the next morning before 10am, they have the room available for us. This goes to show the unwillingness to satisfy the customers.
Location was excellent. Within walking distance to good local restaurants. The Grand Hyatt Casino was just within walking distance.

CanadaThe reception staff who checked us in was curt at first. The breakfast room was shockingly chaotic when we went to eat. There were huge lineups and very very loud noises. We would have gone to another place if we didn’t buy the tickets from the previous day. No one explained or directed us to our table after taking our breakfast tickets which was confusing especially for tourists like me and my family. We wish there were more breakfast kind of food.
We liked the clean and spacious bedrooms. Housekeeping staff were friendly and accommodating.
