How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Buffet breakfast is pretty expensive. The room especially the bathroom might already need a renovation. This hotel suits those who have business trips and need to leave in that district. For travelers, this option might not be the best.
The Starbucks in the lobby. There's a self-laundry room which is pretty convenient for a long-term stay.

Shower facilities below standard - small sink area to put things, old fashion shower - small and not convenient, hot water flow in the sink is very low and it’s difficult to shave. Location is very far from center. Price is very high and not justified.
Nice lobby and room, spacious. Bus to the airport is just outside of the hotel entrance.

Tried to contact prior to arrival re early check in but response was in Korean and therefore uninterpretable.
Check in is efficient. Beds and pillows fantastic. Breakfast options very good and layout very clean, well presented and uncluttered.

The fact that place was hard to find and taxi drivers didn't even know the place. Otherwise all good.
Nice facilities and friendly staff. Let down by the fact it was incredibly hard to find. Spoke to like three taxi drivers and used 3 different navigation systems. Could be helpful to advertise on English websites, that the site is "formerly known as Guro hotel." One of those mis-translation/poor update of information ordeals.

I think checking time 3 pm too late because I was reached nearly 1 o’clock I have to wait till 3pm otherwise I have to pay extra. It is not fair for

Being picky, I would say that for a 4 star hotel in Korea the expectation would be that the toilet would have all the bells and whistles, however it was just a standard toilet which was a little disappointing.
The location was not in central Seoul, but it was only a 5 minute walk (depending on lights) from the metro and had a hypermart, several convenience stores and lots of restaurants nearby. The staff at the desk spoke excellent English and the Airport Limousine had a stop right outside the entrance.

Air conditioning is controlled by the central system, not individual rooms. When people next door secretly smoked, the air just spread to our room and the room was quite hot in day time that made us requested the staff to bring as a fan.
Location is good, room was clean, and staff were very friendly.

Other members of staff were not as friendly. The first day during check-in I felt very rushed by the ladies at the reception, and I did not feel particularly welcomed.
Some of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The kind lady at the bar gave me some tips about places to see in Seoul. The buffet food was also pretty good. Room was comfortable, very spacious, and clean.

It was a bit out of the way from the main tourist attractions in Seoul, but would be ideal for a business traveller I suppose.

Seems more then one hotel is 4 point sheraton and we took the bus to the wrong one at midnight.
Right across from a street where you could get great food! Area was quiet. Subway within walking distance

Room not perfectly soundproof from the street outside
Excellent value for money considering the quality of the room and little extras. Walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants as well as the Metro. Short taxi ride from Gimpo airport.

The ad claims the room is 30 square meters, but it feels smaller in reality. The washing machine in the laundry room is noticeably dirty. I sense that most of the receptionists are unfriendly; I won't be returning.

They didn’t provide me a solid soap every day. One of the staffs during the breakfast needs to be trained again. He just took my empty place but I was still having a breakfast.

Good Breakfast Decent location at GURO easy access Clean and Comfortable Bed. Very Convenient to many Coffee shops , Foods and plenty more, especially has a decent size of Emart Supermarket Nearby Overall Great!!

There were no shelves in the bathroom to put our shaving kits and other accessories.
The people on the front desk were exceptional. Very helpful and very kind. The manager on the night we left was extremely helpful. I think he went beyond his duties to make us feel comfortable and he even helped us with our luggage. He was exceptional and deserves to be mentioned.
