Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South KoreaThe owner should really work on all the comments about the bathroom and toilet. It was indeed smelly and inconvenient. If apart from that, everything was totally fine, considering the price is really cheap.
A good price for privacy. I barely here sound during my stay. Someone even came to me when I met another person and we started talking at the kitchen. A person approached showing his phone screen, which is written 'please do not talk loud, I want to sleep'.

FinlandThe lack of cleanliness. The provided slippers were just fine, but they could've used a washing. The bathrooms were OK (for the price) but the showers not. Kitchen area had a very strong smell and the counters were dirty. The provided locker was quite narrow, so I couldn't fit my mid-sized suitcase inside.
The location was convenient close to the metro stop, and the door was easy to find by the photos. After booking I got a message from the place guiding about the self-check-in process, which was fast and easy. The pod itself was all right, although I couldn't lock it from the outside. If you need a place to stay for the night, this might be OK, given the price.

South Koreawhile there is privacy the capsules aren’t soundproof. You will hear someone snoring or humming or banging on something at 2am.
the capsules are comfy and intimate. even as a tall person I fit in nicely and could still sit and not be hunched over. Good for an overnight trip.

United KingdomI arrived late so i got a room capsule. Usually i prefer a room but the bed was a bit cramped and hard. I have stayed in capsules in Itaewon and Tokyo but this one was not ideal for comfort and every move made noise which i was conscious of. The actual regular capsules looked good. I wish i had arrived earlier to try one. It is what i booked so i was sad that i couldn't have because i came in just after 12am. The check in time says 00.00, check out 00.00 which implies 24hr check in so i didn't think it would be an issue to arrive anytime.
The staff member was very helpful and let me choose a room style capsule as i arrived at about 12.05 or so. The staff also had very good English. The location was not bad compared to other hotels in Incheon. The place was clean and the capsules were easy to find with matching key numbers etc.. There were electronic lockers and keys for the capsules. The price was standard for a capsule hotel but generally very cheap. Pajamas were provided just like jimjilbang clothes, this was a good feature. There were tooth brushes and other necessities available so this was a plus. Mega coffee is just down the street and the station is about 15 mins away. It was good value and fairly convenient.

TurkeyI don’t understand why people have bad comments about this hostel. For this price it’s a great place to spend. I stayed 8 nights here and sometimes spended my time by playing games on computer room. There is hot water by the coffee machine so you can also have lunch or dinner with that. I went to Seoul easily from bupyeong station. First day I have arrived to hostel there was a guy helped me nicely. Thanks to staff helped me. I had a great time. I get immigration to japan so it was the reason to go to South Korea and that hostel but next time I be there again for a vacation to enjoy again. Greetings 🖖 hakan

BelgiumSo many things. First of all, it was so dirty and I was consistently feeling uncomfortable. I had just come from a solo trip from Malaysia and Singapore and I had stayed at low budget hotels too but they were all great nothing compared to this one! There was hair everywhere, I had to choose a bed that someone had just left and change the bedding myself?? It makes so much noise even when you turn around while you’re asleep it makes noise! The toilets are so dirty so so dirty, I’ve never seen anyone come and clean it and I stayed there for a week! Also, personal experience but the man that I spoke too whom I believe is part of the staff since he gave me the keys and showed me where I’ve to put my luggage, anyways this man kept staring at me with lustful eyes whenever I was wearing a top, had just finished showering and don’t have my whole body full of clothes but of course pants and a small shirt. anyways I felt very uncomfortable as some times as soon as I came out of the bathroom I heard someone opening their capsule and it turns out to be him, he just shamelessly stares at me the whole time? I love Korea and I was studying there for a whole semester and I went back after my solo trip for a goodbye to Korea and my friends but this hostel really gave me the ick and made me want to leave but sadly I didn’t have any savings back then. But I recommend you look somewhere else guys!
Umm difficult to say, maybe the location a bit? It was near the Bupyeong station and there were several restaurants nearby.

United StatesThere was no staff at any point, even when I had a korean friend call the phone number asking for help. There was no way to check in as someone who had already stayed, so I just had to take a random key to a dirty bed (like obviously dirty, like hairs and everything), and then later that night someone said they had booked that bed with the machine. The whole place smelled terrible. It was very poorly signed so I really struggled to find it. I was exhausted so I just put up with it but it was by far the worst accommodation experience of my life and I travel low-budget very often. Lockers were advertised as big enough for even very large luggage, but they were in fact narrow and because there was no security to get into the building I had to keep my luggage inside the pod with me (I'm lucky I'm short), but I didn't feel comfortable leaving once I'd checked in. By the way- I'm not a hater. Feel free to look at my other reviews, I am not someone who just comes on only to bash on properties. I generally give very honest, exhaustive, and by and large positive reviews. You'll see that this one is an exception because it truly was a horrific experience.
If everything had worked correctly and been as advertised it would have been pretty convenient and a cool concept. (btw pictures except the locker are all from within the pod, I only got a video of the outside which booking won't let me upload)

PhilippinesA lot, which was disappointing. I was hoping this would be my first capsule experience, but no. No privacy. You have when you're inside the capsule, but your stuff, especially if you have a trolley, will be stored in common space (won't fit in their lockers). So imagine going through your stuff in view of everyone. The inside of the capsule wasn't cleaned, still had hairs in it. When I arrived, I think the staff just gave me whichever capsule was unoccupied without it being cleaned first. Bathroom only had 1 shower, shared among female occupants. This was ok but the partition was glass, I believe, and in the same room as the common toilets, too. No mattress. They made me wear used disposable indoor slippers. So unfortunately, I ended up booking another accommodation because I didn't think I'd last two nights here.
Nothing. But I have to say that this accommodation is probably good for a short break/rest/stay. Staff was nice but couldn't speak english.

South KoreaEverything, filthy everywhere, bedding was filthy, the mattress was filthy, the shower was disgusting and clogged, the coffee was never available, the towels are hand towels for showering... ridiculous...the capsule doesn't seal lock so theres an opening big enough for someone's hand to fit through if you lock it....there is no system to get a keycard they just lay around. There is no assistance. They have absolutely no idea who is checking in or out. NOTHING as described. Toilets are disgusting. Seems like nothing has been cleaned in ages. The faucet was leaking and making the floor constantly wet. No one washed the bedding whilst I was there and people were checking in and out during my stay. Repulsive and disgusting. To top it all off your not allowed to take your key with you. The manager basically harassed me for my key even though I had a reservation for 3 nights...he took the key and gave my pod to someone else. I had to leave early.

New ZealandI couldn't find the place very well (probably cause I don't speak Korean and couldn't use data) Also when I did find it I couldn't figure out how to check in, so I ended up just picking a random pod and going into it (I had payed online but if I hadn't it wouldn't have made a difference) I didn't get arrested or kicked out though, so it was just a really cool stay
This place was so cool! I loved the whole vibe of everything, and the pods were so fancy! Such good value for money as well!

NorwayMattress is too thin and still feel hard floor. uncomfortable(adding even 1cm soft layer could help a lot). Some talk loud at late night creating noise to sleep. The capsules provide some sound barrier but does not help when somebody talks loud outside.
Comfort facility. It offers almost everything I need to stay overnight. Capsules provides good privacy and comfort. Included are warm mattress and monitor for netflix movies and internet surfing. Separate locker box is very nice. Clean toilet and shower.
