Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThere is no key for the bedroom main door (but there are lockers inside the room) so the door is never locked. It often happened that people were opening it. I don't know if it's the cleaning crew or people mistaken but it doesn't feel safe to see your bedroom door opened every hour. There is only one table for the breakfast and it's easily crowded considering how many people can stay at the hostel. There is not enough room for everyone.
The check-in was quick and easy. There is a breakfast available in the morning, you can use the fridge and the kitchen for your own use. There is a room underground to play games or read. The beds have curtains and the room as AC, a fan, small lockers, and a hairdryer. The hostel is nicely located with a street market a few steps away.

DenmarkThere doesn't seem to be any other ventilation of the shower than through the door. But that's a minor fault in a near perfect hostel.
Good hostel vibe with nice communal spaces. A nice place to socialize,,but still the place respects people's need to sleep. Friendly and informative staff. The bus for Bulguksa leaves just up the road.

NetherlandsI stayed 2 nights and didn’t had proper sleep since the rooms were not well isolated.
During my stay I have met a lot of nice people, had a fun time at the Boobaki garage bar next door, and was able to do sightseeing of Gyeongju quickly because of it’s good location. I was also able to wash my clothes for 8000 KRW, it was washed and dried within 8 hours!

RomaniaIt was perfect for me!
The room and bathroom are very clean, you have some privacy. People are very friendly, the breakfast is good enough to start the day ( jam, peanut butter, cereal, milk, coffee, tea), but you can also cook if you want. The location is exceptional, close to the tomb complex. Def a good place to stay, I even stayed 1 day more because the city deserves at least 2 full days. Thank you, guys! I enjoyed my time there! ❤️ You cand even leave your luggage before check in and after checkout. So it has all the advantages you could wish for. Also good value for the money!

AustraliaStaffed by a group of young people, some of whom were great but some seemed a bit over it. Pretty tight in the bedrooms but comfortable.
Location was super convenient; near a main bus stop, the start of the parks, and a night food market.

LithuaniaAmazing stuff, great owner. The kitchen and common area was nice and cozy. Even though breakfast was just coffee, toast and cereal, it was a great opportunity to meet other travelers and talk with them. I stayed in a mix dorm room for 4 people and we had a private shower and restroom, it was very nice. The Bed was comfortable. There is a bar next door, owned by the same guy who owns a hostel as well. So you have 500 won discount there and it is a nice place to spend your evening after a long day.

Dominican RepublicThe mattresses were horribly hard with several dents making it even more uncomfortable. The bathroom needed serious attention as the toilet leaked for 2 days (even though we've notified the staff - it was still not fixed when we left). You could see it has been repaired several times with silicone but the mold testified a change of toilet was necessary. The shower walls and box were made out of wood, making it unsuitable for the purpose it was intended for. We strongly suspect there was a mould party behind the walls. Where I slept, someone was desperately in need of a tissue at one point but I guess that person didn't find one and decided to spread nose residue on the wall without cleaning it after. I much appreciate staying in hostels but definitely not sharing other human body fluids when it's not necessary. I just wish the staff would have paid a bit more attention to a (not so small) detail like this.
Liked the location and the quietness of the room. Most of the sightseeing spots are accessible by walk. 30 min bus ride from the train station. The atmosphere was great with a lot of travelers from all around the world. The breakfast provided, which consisted of toasts with jam and peanut butter or cereals with milk (orange juice and coffee as well) was really great. The free small glass of beer was very much appreciated as well as the snacks and the W500 off on the next drinks. Each of the individual beds had a roll curtain which was much appreciated as it blocked the light coming from the crack left by the (too small) curtain. It adds a lot of privacy as everybody is not spying on you in your sleep. It's definitely a nice place with a lot of potential but it needs a lot of love, attention and cleaning. The owner was very nice and has been traveling a lot as you can see in the photos all over the walls of the hostel. He has a big heart and was taking care of a small wounded cat when we were there.

PortugalThe bathroom is the mix dorm is not ventilated and therefore was moldy. The bed curtain only covers the side of the bed. The window curtain did not fully work and part of the window wasn't covered. The locker in the bedroom fits only a small backpack. The bathroom is in dire need of being renovated.
The atmosphere was really good. The hostel also owns the bar next door. It works as an extended room to hangout with other travellers.
